Vagina? Testicles? I've seen all the episodes and didn't see all this stuff! I watched it with a kid and it seemed pretty PG-13 to me. I really must have missed some shit!

Shit seems like a legit breath of fresh air version of Adventure Time. Bravo, Pendleton

First 2 were alright, but the 3rd episode shows so much promise for the series. Pretty awesome

And I love the theme song going on at the end of the episodes

So, I have never seen Adventure Time, but I have seen it everywhere, so I decided to gives this a watch.. Its pretty freaking funny actually. Simple, cute and a little rude at times which seems perfect. It hasn't gone over the top with its adult humor, so I like it since it seems to fit in a unique space.. Ill definitely keep watching.

Ward loooves him some curvy women.

Yup.

I watched the first three episodes. Good golly this is fun. It's no substitute for anything John K's ever made, but the writing's fun and it renders sci-fi tropes in a convincingly funny way.

EDIT: The fourth episode's pretty good, around episode 1 levels. So far, I'd rank them 2 > 3 > 4 > 1.

Pretty cool show, has its work cut out before it tops Adventure Time but anything from the same people is a bonus I reckon.

Hm, probably my least favorite episode yet, but it was still okay. Also the preview for next week's episode was pretty amazing, so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

I've only seen the first episode, but I thought it suffered from the lack of the other Adventure Time writers. People like Jesse Moynihan who inject more mysticism/occult elements into the show are what really take Adventure Time over the top for me.

dude always high as shit though. works for rappers but not always for animators.
Pen? Uh, no he's not.

Also, he's not responsible for this show and he's really bummed out that the actual show runner, Breehn Burns, doesn't get more credit. Pen just oversees it but Cartoon Hangover/Frederator put Pen's name on it to give it more exposure.

Here's my post from the other thread, for people who are confused about the demographic this is aiming for:

This is done by Pen's roommate Breehn Burns, who some of you may know from the incredible Dr. Tran shorts, and others from his work on the fantastic horror movie Trick'r'Treat.

Backstory!

Frederator Studios, the people who do Adventure Time with Cartoon Network (among other shows with other networks) are the champions of short-form animation. They've done like 4-6 different shorts cartoons for Nick and CN that have led to some of your favorite shows being made - each time they make a new series (IE, Oh Yeah! Cartoons) each episode acts as a backdoor pilot for a potential series.

Adventure Time was one such pilot, from [I believe] Random! Cartoons. The other, also by Pen Ward, was The Bravest Warriors. AT eventually got picked up by Cartoon Network but BW sat unloved at Frederator.

Side note: In 2009, Frederator bought the animation rights to a comic book series called SuperF*ckers. They developed it and shopped it around but nobody ever fully committed.

So they had Bravest Warriors and SuperF*ckers just sitting, and they thought: Why don't we just make them ourselves instead of relying on other networks? That way we can do whatever we want, be as graphic as we want, do all the things we couldn't get away with on TV.

THUS Frederator Studio's Cartoon Hangover was born. Bravest Warriors is the first CH Series, with SuperF*ckers to follow (very soon, I think? Maybe it's even started already?) They will then also have another series of shorts, called Too Cool! Cartoons which will once again be filled with 4-minute cartoons all acting as pilots for their own series. The ones they've announced so far are Rocket Dog, Bee and PuppyCat (by Natasha Allegri of Adventure Time fame) and Our New Electrical Morals. There are a bunch more planned - I actually have a TCC short that's sitting in development limbo right now.

And just FYI SuperF*ckers is already on its 3rd episode, last I checked.
