Too lazy to find pictures!

Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
The White Stripes - Elephant
Weezer - The Green Album
Tool - Lateralus
Michael Jackson - Thriller
The Eagles - Hotel California
Jay-Z/DJ Danger Mouse - The Grey Album

Also noting: Good pick, robochimp. I had serious issues with a couple of songs, but damn fine otherwise.

i like master of puppets a lot as well but uh...this one wins out.

creamSLV.jpg

i discovered this tape in my uncle's basement. i never heard of cream before (well i was only 12...), and i played this tape and it blew me away, been a fan since...actually one of the biggest reasons why i started listening to classic rock in the first place.
as perfect a rock album can get.

B000002J09.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

the cliche zeppelin album, but with songs like black dog, rock and roll and stairway i cant quite ignore it.

B0000028UK.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

this was PJ at their peak IMO, after VS they sorta changed their style and i couldnt really relate to their music.

B00000HY5N.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

ahhh, this compilation is just sweet, perfect introduction to the brilliant music of depeche mode. meyer's choice sorta amused me as i think this 81 - 85 is much better than the latter compilation.

B000002KHH.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

definitive classic metal album.

B000002KZ1.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

every metal head should have this classic album.

i have been listehing to both ATDI albums (in casino out and relation of command) but i like the mars volta album a lot more, more melodious, sounds a lot more mature.

Yeah I like the Mars Volta more than At The drive in, Probably because I'm older now. But I obviously still really love both

I don't feel like looking for pictures, either.

Ween - The Mollusk (I'd list all of their records, save the first 3, but this is the cream of the crop)
The Wrens - The Meadowlands (I'm trying to avoid things that've been mentioned, but this album is completely incredible)
New Kingdom - Paradise Don't Come Cheap
Xiu Xiu - Knife Play
Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein
Hot Snakes - Suicide Invoice
The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantic
Mr. Lif - I, Phantom
Optiganally Yours - Spotlight On... Optiganally Yours!
The Raveonettes - Chain Gang of Love

I have a lot of favorites across a lot of genres, but I'm feeling metal tonight, so here goes:

c73478w0c4q.jpg

Strapping Young Lad - City: I've had people who absolutely hate grindcore come up and tell me how much they love this album. It's unbridled, tongue-in-cheek speed metal fury with a healthy dose of industrial to ramp up the intensity more than a few notches. Its follow-up, "SYL," is just as good but this one gets the nod because it came first, I guess :p

d77804sbbed.jpg

Metallica - Master of Puppets: This, to me, is the greatest heavy metal album ever recorded. So much melody, complexity, and innovation on this album it's just plain sick. 'Nuff said.

c41455j419a.jpg

Tony MacAlpine - Maximum Security: After Yngwie got big, neoclassical shred albums were a dime a dozen, but this one, despite being the same style more or less, is better than anything Malmsteen has ever done. Tony's amazing dexterity and technical ability almost mask his incredible sense of melody and taste. Truly one of the most underappreciated guitarists of his time.

g03883osz2c.jpg

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon: Some diehards prefer their black metal stripped down and rough as a rock quarry, but this new brand of slick, tightly played, and epic-sounding black metal works for me just fine, and it's never been done better than on this album.

f027126vw40.jpg

Angra - Rebirth: The boys from Brazil are the best power metal band working today. So many other groups tend to follow the same neoclassical, double-bass-driven formula, but Angra's albums are always so full of surprises and unique twists. Though Rebirth is not particularly innovative compared to their previous work, I consider it their best because it more or less perfects the style they'd been working for so long.

And it wouldn't be a favorites list without....

f93712bm0s5.jpg

Ocean Machine - Biomech: This is the single greatest album I've ever heard, and I can still say that after hearing it for the first time some six years ago. Even though Devin Townsend had released some absolutely stellar albums before and after Biomech, nothing he's ever done quite lives up to it. Everyone should at least give it a try.

I wouldn't doubt that! I lost the album for about 3 years, and just recently picked it up. Great album, and Blind is awesome in concert.

Pearl Jam - VS
Ten was an amazing album, but VS really just made you understand how great Pearl Jam was. To come out with such a strong 2nd album and have it be better then their first CD was amazing.

c0566765972.jpg

Radiohead - The Bends
One of the most amazing albums I have ever heard. Thom's voice is simply amazing on every single track, all of the songs are brilliant.

e423395we8t.jpg

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
I shouldn't say anything about this album. Brilliant.

d74652iuxi2.jpg

Beck - Odelay
Beck at his absolute best, but I give a huge amount of credit to the Dust Brothers who produced this album (and also did Beastie Boys Paul's Boutique.

f54982oyoc1.jpg

U2 - Joshua Tree
Simply amazing album.

f61094sehi4.jpg

Duran Duran - Rio
Talk about singles mania!! This album pretty much molded pop music for what we call the 80's.

d76561lfp31.jpg

Huey Lewis & the News - Sports
For the time, this album is about as perfect as you can get. Almost every song was a chart single, which anytime in history is amazing in itself. I'll get shit for it.

Blood Sugar Sex Magick - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Superunknown - Soundgarden
Appetite for Destruction - Guns 'N' Roses
Swingers Sountrack - Various Artists
License to Ill - Beastie Boys
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

I really think Best ofs should not be allowed, but it's not my thread. ;)

Please. If you are going to pick an At the Drive-in cd, it would have to be Acrobatic Tenement. Really, their most complete album.

Rush Chronicles (cheating, yeah I know)
Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dreams
Foreigner Greatest Hits (cheating, yeah I know)
Weezer Blue/Pinkerton

Damn I felt like I was scrolling forever before a Nirvana album showed up and probable my least favorite.

All those Smashin Pumkins and no Gish? What's the deal.

And leave that Offspring Smash out Ignition is a much better album.

Where is some Ramones love?

Nice to see the Appetite for Destruction it does deserve props.

And Pearl Jams Ten is brilliant.
