A couple of guys got their hands on early copies and leaked some screenshots from the trailer. People are still waiting (and almost ready to feed off table scraps) for the full trailer.
Just popped in on this thread during work and don't have time to read up on what's been happening... is anybody up for providing a two sentence explanation on why this thread blew up in the last 24 hours and what this is about a leak / 2ch / trailer / screenshots or whatever? Am I missing out on hot P5 news?

Just don't mind it and keep working. People are up in a tizzy but it seems like the new P5 trailer won't leak until P4 DAN is actually released and put in enough people's hands to actually try and do something about it.
REMINDER: Game isn't even officially out yet. From all we know only a 1-2 people in the entirety of Japan actually have the game before it's release date and they have obviously shown their dismissal of posting the actual video. P4 DAN will be released to the general public on June 25th.

some people in japan got early copies of P4D last night and posted about it (with screens of the new trailer) on 2ch. one guy indicated he was working on ripping the disc's contents. it never materialized. since then japan has gone to sleep. not much else to report.

Some people already have the game (and more will get it today)
People have been posting screenshots of the trailer, so some were hoping the trailer would get uploaded, but screenshots and ripping a Blu-Ray are two different things.
The trailer will be up today or tomorrow, so it's not a big deal, some people just need some patience.
Yeah, I knew it was a long shot, but 4chan was the source of the Ultimax asset rips that happened last year, before Japan could do it. Wish I could've seen the "party," though.

Someone was leaking screenshots of the trailer, and Some guy might be uploading it, but by the looks of it they were just trolling.

he uploaded DAN gameplay on youtube(which all got taken down) and streamed smash bros, ground zeroes, P4Ultimax, FE and DAN along with other stuff before release yet wont release the trailer. it doesn't make any sense

Since some people said PV2 didn't have a release date, so realistically speaking, Sony might want it save it as one of their main motivating factors to get a PS4...so probably Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show conference this year in September.
Like others have said, late September is way too late in the year to announce a specific 2015 release date.

Way, way too late. Revealing the release date 2 months away from the game's actual release? Have there been any examples of Japanese games as anticipated and of the scope that Persona 5 has doing that? Persona 5 is the most anticipated game potentially in the history of their company. There's no way they don't market it for a longer period than that.

Agreed. If they are truly going to stretch out the release date drop, the latest they can do it without fucking it all up is mid-August.
