Hey, I don't care how you get your rocks off. Let's call a spade s spade though; Waifu talk is definitely lowest common denominator. It's baseline objection of a female character by sexist Neanderthals.
If you want to sing actual praises of a character than do that. By all means, more power to you. Waifu talk is junk though; Implying of arguing it's anything but that or has any kind of merit is silly. As stated, it just detracts from actual discussion and at lest for me, I really think Atlus deserves more than that. They give these characters a heart and soul and they have a depth to them that make them genuinely interesting and compelling.

I feel like I'd be more impressed with Arsene if it wasn't for the fact that I'll probably be fusing him with someone else like an hour into the game lol

Hell, I love the new critical "eyes" cutout. It's much more fierce now.
Arsene is rad as fuck. Can't unsee thunder-thighs, but I couldn't unsee the codpiece on Izanagi, so this is overall better.
Also, I've been waiting for Soejima's default render of the Protagonist. I love the style he does those in, the shading is excellent.

Thunder thighs makes sense for Arsene though, given that now we can see that Arsene is pretty much a humanoid demon bird.
Maybe this time they'll put in a special trophy for sticking with your first persona until the end of the game.

One of the scans pretty much confirms that what goes on at the end of the trailer is the P5MC's awakening (i.e. first Persona summon).

We barely even needed that confirmation. The fact that it was an animated cutscene gave it away. Good to know the summon method is setting yourself on fire though.
Well, we don't know about that. There were theories that now, characters would transform into their own Personas, but that's obviously not the case with the battle screenshot which shows Arsene tethered to the P5MC via a chain.
There were also theories thinking that what was going on at the end of the trailer was the P5MC's Shadow.

I honestly never liked thanatos' design too much, I think Arsene looks way better.
Makes sense that the personas are going to be tethered to characters by chains if the velvet room is themed like a prison this time around though. I just wonder what the specific story reasons for that are, unless it's just to fit with the theme, which would be a bit disappointing.
Either way, I just need to hear a vocal main theme and a battle theme and I'm good to black out on this thing.

And P3MC ultimate persona is Messiah too right? Which put Thanatos into awkward position I guess.
Was anyone actually thinking their wild, frothing theories were right? I mean seriously, no, characters from p2/p3/p4 are not going to feature in any capacity in p5, of course there's going to be social links (seemingly updated) heck they weren't even called social links in the Japanese games so yeah why the big freak out? Of course these aren't going to be the only characters in the games
Sure speculation is fun but uhhhh it doesn't take much critical thinking to realize how ridiculous a lot of the theories being spouted out were

Arsene looks sick.
Orpheus design was alright, Izanagi was cool, but Arsene looks amazing all around.
Too bad I'll ditch him after the first dungeon =P

Famitsu will likely update their site with the screens starting late tomorrow or early Friday. Of course they're going to be tiny, so people are going to have to hope that they don't have a full exclusive on it which will allow Atlus and 4gamer to post the full resolution screens.

Gotta say I don't really care for Arsene's apparent design. Still in the same vein as P3 and P4 with Thanatos and Izanagi and the rest of the personas which always bored me.
Why can't we get a more human looking creepy dudes like Oberon or Cu Chulainn or Mastema? I'd even prefer stuff like Heimdall, Nebiros, Baphoment, Bilfrons or Ose. And there is my undying love for all the creepy ladies out there like Asherah, Maya, Hathor, Isis and the Three Fates sisters plus many more of similar design like Alice or Lilith.
P3/P4 style personas look like wacked out action figures for the most part with far too much going on design wise. I never cared or thought about them at all, but meanwhile in SMTIV there's like a couple dozen demons that, even when they were way outclassed level/skill wise, I still loved and thought were amazing because of their outstanding designs. Even P2 had some wacky looking personas, but I'd even be happier with those, especially if their ultimate forms were like Apollo and Yamaoka, those two were beyond cool.

Thanatos had a really awesome design. Even if you didn't personally care for it, it had style to it. (I really like the whole Orpheus-Thanatos-Messiah trinity in P3).
Arsene looks really badass, though. Actually quite sinister in a lot of ways (black wings, demonesque burning face). I find the chains on the summon animation interesting.

I love how Arsene has that blue burn around him in-game.
Also that scene with the MC jumping in front of the moon is actually gameplay? Thought it was an anime cutscene or something, so stylish.
