Persona 5 Famitsu Details

It's the spiral on the back. Maybe "awkward" is the wrong word to use. I dunno, it just looks like a Decepticon to me.

How about this guy then?

I really dislike it because of whatever that thing behind it's back is supposed to be.

Makes the Persona look like a F-22

It's supposed to symbolize the Messiah
dying for everyone's sin, just like Makoto dying for everyone. Since the messiah's purpose is to be a savior that thing on his back is supposed to imply that he's looking down on everyone as their savior.

I really don't get what people like about Thanatos. I like the coffin-wings but that's about it.

Because it gives of a badass death vibe. I mean when he was first summoned he looked out of this world and just had amazing style.

I can understand that, but, I mean, it's not like he's jumping around all over the place with that thing on his back. He's pretty immobile.

The trailer gives one of the days as 4/11 Monday
The scan image moon jump gives the day as 4/20 Wednesday

This could likely mean that the game is set during 2011 or 2016.

I'm sure others years could be applicable, but I'm willing to guess that P5 will be set during 2016.

Does anyone know what years P3/P4/spinoffs are set in for comparison?

EDIT: Thank you FluxWaveZ (likely 2016 then)

We also have April 7th as a Tuesday in one of the scans, which would be 2015. Maybe they started moving it to 2016?

EDIT: Nevermind. Read Thursday as Tuesday, my bad.

Made a wallpaper for myself out of Bunta's cleanup job, if anyone would like to use it! It's 1280 x 800.

Nice. I attempted making mine wallpaper friendly. I also tried drawing the rest of his body and changed the resolution to 1920x1080 since it didn't fit well on my monitor.

Awesome, added these to my folder, I did a quick thing too, unfortunately this is the best resolution I could get on it(1536x864):

I blame your avatar.

Hey leave the banana man out of this :P

It'll take way more than Persona 4's low brow fan-service scenes to do the job :P

Hey, I don't care how you get your rocks off. Let's call a spade s spade though; Waifu talk is definitely lowest common denominator. It's baseline objection of a female character by sexist Neanderthals.

If you want to sing actual praises of a character than do that. By all means, more power to you. Waifu talk is junk though; Implying of arguing it's anything but that or has any kind of merit is silly. As stated, it just detracts from actual discussion and at lest for me, I really think Atlus deserves more than that. They give these characters a heart and soul and they have a depth to them that make them genuinely interesting and compelling.

I guess when I imagine the word "waifu talk" I am basically picturing people just having a little bit of fun here and there, like laughing and joking around. I guess I also imagine people saying stuff like, say, "I like Yukiko's S-Link more than Chie's and she's a better girl than Chie," which I personally view as harmless. I am just picturing that a red name stating that the "waifu" discussion will be wholesale banned will make people hesitate to post even light-hearted and fun stuff like that.

Anyways, the bolded above was precisely why I felt Persona 4's *double* bathing scenes were so disappointing and out of place. Since Persona 3 also featured such a cliche-ridden scene similar like that, let's see if Persona 5 continues the tradition, though it seems unlikely seeing the tone that we're seeing so far.

I really dislike it because of whatever that thing behind it's back is supposed to be.

That design actually seem a lot cooler than me than P4MC's ultimate Persona design, since the latter seemed like it's designed to conform to all the usual "cool-looking" stuff while this one actually looks both cool AND unique (and it fits the overall theme of the game AND the actions of the protagonist way better than P4).

The point about every character having problems of their own makes me think of the Persona 3 and how every character has different problems. P3 takes time to flesh them out and solve them at different points in the game. A huge plus in my book.
