Care of http://www.siliconera.com/2015/02/09/persona-5-details-protagonist-setting-dungeons/

+ The protagonist is a second-year high school student (the new kid in town, may or may not be a thief)
+ Social links are in (in some form)
+ Not all dungeons are randomly generated (but some probably are)
+ Starts in Shibuya, set in other Tokyo locations as well (Almost certainly a beach at some point)
+ Problems will be solved (but some probably won't be ... at least without a guide)

More: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/02/09/persona-5s-protagonists-problems/
+ The cat thing Morgana can transform (perhaps into another cat)
+ Turn based battles, but with some differences (and the guns are not really guns, just things that look like guns and shoot)
+ Cutscenes are by Production I.G. (Ghost in the shell)
+ Everybody has problems

+ Social links are in

Was there a debate about it not being in? Seems kind of central to Persona.

There were plenty of people who believed that a series that got popular on social links, has a few anime series resolving around the characters and their social interactions and had a massive trailer reveal at a rock concert would not have social links.

I think it makes sense that it has social links.

"The protagonist is a second-year high school student, who transfers to the city during the spring"

So original.

Anyway, the protagonist' first persona is Arsene, as in Arsene Lupin. Cool.

So the velvet room really is a prison, then?

All for that!

Also, yay for social links. Hopefully they are well integrated to the story/ gameplay like Marie's was (though hopefully more interesting)

Reposting what I said in the other thread:

Hashino doesn't appear to have said that there are no random dungeons in the game, only that the dungeon we saw in the PV is not randomly generated. He also mentions that they will offer a variety of settings and gimmicks in the game to present situations where the players have to overcome challenges like a phantom thief would.

That suggests to me that the story dungeons will be more about fun puzzle-ish scenarios than tough-as-nails dungeon crawling.

Also, Hashino didn't say that Social Links are in Persona 5, but he implied that there would be a similar sort of system.

Was hoping for more details on the systems, but oh well. Arsene is an awesome idea for a Persona, though.

EDIT: Oh, also, can we talk about how amazing the cover art is?

So either Cooperation = Social Links or we're getting a separate menu for those, neat. Also boo, we're a transfer student again.
In previous titles, the Persona summoning scene had the Japanese onomatopoeia of “カッ” (kka) which is something often used to depict a flash or clicking sound. In Persona 5, it’s “ブチッ” (buchi) which is a snapping sound (either physically or mentally).
The most important info right here

Can't say i am surprised at any of those bullet points.

Right down to you being the 'new-kid' are exactly what defines the (newer) Persona games :p
