Persona 5: input lag?

So, I started my playthrough yesterday and I noticed right off the bat that there's something wrong with how the MC handles and how the camera moves: everything seems to be delayed by a fair amount of ms, so that navigating through dungeons and the real world can be quite an unpleasant experience.

Some clarifications:

1) The display lag of my tv is in the order of 30-35 ms. While not that great, it's not crazy high either, and I have no issues with any other game (even FPSs) on this front.

2) I've just finished P4G on the PSTV and the MC handled just fine.

3) I've read about people experiencing something similar in P5 and attributing this issue to the analog stick's deadzone. While I find the deadzone in P5 quite large, I don't think it's the main issue, as I can feel the delay even when I'm turning the character, with the stick all the way to the edge.

4) I've tried disabling the boost mode of the PSPro, just in case it was messing with the game, since it doesn't have a dedicated patch. It has no effect at all.

Right now I've decided to speed up a little bit the camera movement, but it's obviously no solution to the delay in turning the camera, it just makes it feel a little bit better. And it obviously does nothing for the actual movement of the character.

So is this a thing? Has anyone noticed a much more "floaty" movement compared to previous persona games (or compared to other games in general)? It's quite hard to be precise in narrow spaces (and the game is filled with those), especially during "stealth" parts.

I noticed that too but i stopped caring early since the nature of the game. I never failed an ambush due to the delay so it's tolerable, i think.
To be honest i'm bothered more by the aliasing.

When you tap left or right does the camera move even after you stop moving the stick? If that's the case I noticed that started happening to me when I played Doom. It's the PS4 controller. I found myself having to turn off the device and then back on to fix it. I also read that depending on your router and your Bluetooth devices in and around your home can cause interference..

If that's not it sorry :/

My TV isn't great with the response time, but I definitely felt some camera lag that was more than I am used to. But due to the gameplay I didn't really care all that much. A bit annoying in dungeons with lots of narrow turns but it isn't making the game any less fun for me.

Both camera and movement are weird in that game. You get used to it, but it doesn't control like anything else, the camera moves in huge lurches and the protagonist either crawls or goes at sonic speed.

It's better to think of the camera as something that you only occasionally reposition rather than your primary means of changing the character's direction.

I understand where you all are coming from: luckily this is not an action game.

But if you think about it, when not using commands in battle or reading through text, you're navigating environments and interacting with objects quite a lot in this game. More so with the added stealth sections.
It's unfortunate.. it's far from being game breaking (the game is great), but it takes me a bit out of the experience. I wonder if it's something they could fix.. the deadzone, at the very least.

I've started using the O button too, it somewhat works in having me not reposition the camera with the stick too often.

Yes, I had exactly this problem. In my case, it was my wireless was messing with my controller. When I was doing a download my controller lagged.

I think it may just seem laggy because the context sensitive stuff (consecutive jumps, panning the camera, teleporting in the shadows) are just awful. I don't think it's lagginess.

Can't remember the name of the option but I disabled that shit that makes the camera turn automatically for you when you are just moving the left stick, I hate that so much. Had troubles with Witcher 3 because of that too, until they finally added an option for that in a really late patch. I feel like they are taking away the character control from me... maybe that will help if you turn it off, it's really obnoxious.

Unfortunately, it's the same even using the DS4 via USB only (i believe only the newer DS4 has this option), also, I don't notice any kind of lag with other games. :/

I don't think I've experienced input lag but switching Persona's gets aggrivating sometimes.

You can't instantly switch but I would not call that lag I think it just needs to load the Persona's model first, but its still annoying how long it takes. You can mash X for about 2 or 3 seconds while waiting for the new persona to load.
