Some waifu appreciation gifs
Reposted for some love!
So I just watched that trailer and it looked pretty great to me. The kicker is that I've never played a Persona game before. So if I were to jump into P5 would I be totally lost in a sense or is it somewhat approachable for new players in terms of the lore and all that?

They're all self-contained games. Shouldn't have any issues.
Nothing, you can play P5 as you first Persona game and you'll not have any problems.
You'll be perfectly fine. At most there will be a cameo from a side character in P4 or the gang will visit Inaba (the town P4 is set in) during a vacation.
Totally approachable, don't worry!
You should be fine. P4 was my first (and only so far) Persona game. There are themes and a few characters that carry over between games but each story is its own.
Except for this, this shit's weird and uncomfortable and a huge downer but I guess they have to get those basement otaku sales
She's the best one!
What's her name tho?
I wasn't gonna say anything the first time you said you guessed, but I'm pretty sure you're hearing Ryuuji say the shortened form of というか、さあ (to iu ka, saa, shortened to tsuu ka sa).
The line being what it is, it also doesn't make sense that he's saying it to a character named Tsukasa, especially when Morgana responds.
Nah, FF ain't sweatin. It's nice to have a variety of different game styles.
None of the recent (PS2 onward) games thus far have been directly connected as far as the numbered main series games go.
The spin-offs like Arena, and Q have direct connections to each other though (considering their entire premise is built on it).
Literally the only connection 4 had to 3 was a nod in the form of side character from the previous game showing up in a throw away scene. 3 had absolutely no connections to the previous 2.
Phantom - Knives for melee, handguns for ranged
Ryuji - Pipes and clubs for melee, (pump action?) shotguns for ranged
Ann - Whips for melee, SMG for ranged
Morgana - Cutlasses for melee, giant slingshots for ranged
Yusuke - Katanas for melee
Biker girl - Gloves and cestuses for melee, magnums for ranged
Robin Hood Girl - Great axes for melee, (tactical?) shotgun for ranged

Placeholder name is punchy or Kung fu girl. I will be disappointed if she ends up with a toxic personality.
Anne still wins cause she'll always be the OG waifu.
Puritanical America is going to strike this down.

I love her = [
Please don't be the kung fu girl like Chie. She was annoying enough with those quotes.
I can see her being the tough customer type like kanji though.
So, what's everybody's team gonna look like?

Mine will be:
- Biker Waifu
- french grill
- Fox guy
Yeah chie became a living trope by the end of persona 4. I'm hopin she's a detective whose after you but then joins you. She looks a lot more formal dress then the rest.

That UI is terrible. It's so chaotic and takes too much screen space. Every time the MC went past a character in the city, that stupid splotch of inky-text pops up.
Maybe they're going for the crazy and out-of-control visual to emphasize the wacky cast, I don't know, but it's much too busy for me.
