Persona 5 - PV 04 [New Trailer]

The game represents a massive visual leap from P3&4 days.Its ridiculous.

Devs deserve praise for that.The dungeons look infinitely more varied than ever as well.
 
First person I've ever seen say this game has terrible UI. Oh well. :\

I personally think it's gonna spoil UI design for every other video game from here on out for me. There's NOTHING that really looks like P5's graphic design out there.

To be fair, it's breaking a TON of guidelines, but since Atlus said that everything graphic design-wise is supposed to be bursting with energy, it's clearly deliberate. My only issue is that the English characters don't look nearly as good as the Japanese ones in some cases and that during some parts, the interface is full of different elements that might not need to be in the field UI. I'm just hoping Atlus USA picks a good typeface for the body text and doesn't go with just a plain sans-serif or use the English characters that might be in the Japanese font.
 
"Tsuu ka saa, nakama ga fuetan da ne?" commenting that they gained another party member, and Morgana says that she seems like she'd be useful, specifically saying probably more useful than whoever she's responding to (which in this case I'm pretty sure is Ryuuji, who she calls a punishment game monkey whose desires are always completely exposed).

Man, i'm so not yet ready to listen to JP audio at not perfect quality/with clean audio lol

That new French girl is CLEARLY targeted toward female players who like a little waifu action of their own. I mean, clearly.
 
I'm really loving the new characters and their design especially the hacker and the french girl <3. Come on Atlus, western release in the same month please!

Guidelines are just guidelines, I know that is a pretty trite statement to make but I thought I'd make it anyway.

It's pretty clear that their UI designers prioritized style over readability, but that's not necessarily a huge issue because the gameplay isn't (from what I can tell and based on previous games) that complex anyway. They have the leeway to go over the top with their UI and imbue it with tons of personality because it isn't going to hinder the minute to minute gameplay as much as an RTS or other UI heavy game.
 
Holy shit has this game got style, I really don't think it's an overestimation to say that this is Persona's perfect chance to become a big name RPG like Final Fantasy.

Red haired supporter girl is literally perfect, she's even voiced by Aoi Yuuki.
 
Good trailer and all that, but the insane pop-in on the people when he was running around in the town annoyed me very much. I kinda hope it's PS3 footage and it's improved on PS4..
 
Really hoping that our original Igor english voice will be back, instead of that woeful casting for ultimax. (As much as I like Vic, he makes for a bad Igor)
 
That UI is terrible. It's so chaotic and takes too much screen space. Every time the MC went past a character in the city, that stupid splotch of inky-text pops up.
Maybe they're going for the crazy and out-of-control visual to emphasize the wacky cast, I don't know, but it's much too busy for me.

Terrible UI?! Oh man, that's hands down one of the most impressive and exciting aspects of the game for me!

You're right. I was just putting that out there as a possible criticism. I know at least one pro graphic designer on GAF who isn't too keen on it, either.

Still, I think the design's doing exactly what it set out to do. It's a mess, but a deliberate one. We don't need persistent reminders of the controls when on the field, though. They can apparently auto-hide, but I don't know what triggers it.
 
I don't understand, this game will clearly sell more copies in US/Europe than in Japan, yet they can't even release a subtitled version of the trailer?

Considering its going to be at E3, I imagine the subbed/dubbed version of this trailer + its NA release date is intended to be released then. From a PR standpoint, it makes sense to save this stuff for an appropriately larger venue than to just push it out on a stream in the middle of the early morning.
 
Don't understand what's being said but still looks mad lol. Need a version with English subs.

Hope it gets fan subbed in the next few days. Inb4 Atlus US subs the same trailer and passes it as new during this E3 lol.

Persona 4 was 8 years ago, which was using persona 3 engine which was 10 years ago
