I know the game is gonna do well review wise, I've been anticipating it for years and got it preordered.
However, I wanna see one or two low scores because the online meltdowns will be really entertaining.
I'm playing on hard and it seems like it takes forever to level up, is it any different on other difficulties?
Also, mp seems really limited, then again, I'm still on the first palace so maybe because I'm low leveled.
I immediately stopped playing breath of the wild after Jim Sterling dropped the meta to 97.
Dodged a bullet there eh?
Just the worst
Keep your impressions from the game away from this thread please.Oh my god how did an early impressions thread turn into a metacritic thread. God dammit.
ACTUAL IMPRESSION: I got a little frustrated at the time between the first and 2nd dungeon but primarily because unlike prior Persona games, you actually need to budget dungeon time instead of beating it all in one go. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to get done, so the leftovers are getting pushed farther back. Now that I know that dungeons require actual planning and how easy it is to waste a full day inside of one, it should be fine going forward.
Whoa, what is this I'm reading here. Dungeons are gone after you beat them and you can't beat them in one go around? For real?

You've still got Momentos after the dungeons though.
Mementos is always available to visit, and each time you beat a story dungeon it expands further to contain all the enemies from that dungeon - so you can't miss any Personas.
The dungeons here are way larger than they ever were in P4, and while it is possible to beat the bulk of most dungeons in a single go, MP will sometimes force you to leave and come back.
Yeah. Mementos is plenty fun though.Whoa, what is this I'm reading here. Dungeons are gone after you beat them and you can't beat them in one go around? For real?
It's a big-ass dungeon, basically.What is that?
Nope!
NOPE!!
What is that?

Super glad that the conversation system is back and seems like a really good source of backup healing items if you don't want/need to exp and are running low.

Sorry, what faults? This game doesn't have the cache of a GTA, Zelda or Bethesda game so its faults won't be overlooked. It should still score great if impressions are to be believed.

Don't worry. Posting in 3 minutes.

(The first few pages will be MC predictions anyway.)
There will be that one review from "BroGamer" or "Daily Shooter" that got a review copy and will post a damning review about lack of multiplayer and slow gameplay and poor character designs....
It's just bound to happen.
...I never thought of going down a few floors and bullying enemies. That's incredible and thank you for the idea. COMING FOR YOU, NERDS.It's possible to do the dungeons in one go. I did for the first one. Barely.
And the main reason I was able to do it was the conversation system. I basically hit a stone wall right at the very very end of the dungeon, knowing I only had to fight maybe two or three more battles and I'd have the whole thing cleared, but I was absolutely out of gas with no SP left, only 1 or 2 SP restoring items that only gave me 5 SP each, no bullets left, few healing items left, and no real options remaining going forward. So I fast traveled back to the start of the dungeon and started picking on weaker enemies and forcing them into conversations to get them to give me a whole bunch of items. This also helped with leveling (though it is slower than straight up killing everything) since you do still get exp for any enemies you take down during the fight, even if it ended in a negotiation. Leveling gets you back a tiny amount of HP and SP, equal to the amount your max HP and SP increases by, and that extra 5 or 6 SP per character that came from getting one level was just barely enough to get me over the hump and to the end of the dungeon. Took me like an extra hour or so, but it saved me from having to burn a whole day or more in-game just to get past a couple enemies that I knew I would have no problem with if I was at full strength.
And I'm going to arbitrarily guess an MC score of 91.

Is the dungeon set on a timer or is just limited supplies. Don't like the idea of needing to rush a dungeon due to ingame timer.
There's no timer, only whether you are capable of killing more enemies.
Locked until the embargo is actually up... awww, shucks.
I kinda want to cancel my standard edition and get the steelbook.
Its going to get an 8.5/8.8. jRPGs really have difficult times getting any higher than that.
You mean, until you had to get out of the dungeon for theIt's possible to do the dungeons in one go. I did for the first one. Barely.
You should be careful, I think it has that very dangerous steelbook cover because of which Amazon preorders were canceled. You might be the reason the human race goes extinct then. -While one could argue that Atlus is at fault for not creating a 99+ MC-Game of course.

No timer other than the usual sorts of deadlines Persona games give you. Like you must clear the current dungeon by X date or it's game over. That sort of thing. Is the dungeon set on a timer or is just limited supplies. Don't like the idea of needing to rush a dungeon due to ingame timer.
Ah that's fine. I managed to one day all persona 4 dungeons so hopefully I can replicate that in persona 5. Need to save time so I can chill with everyone.
I'm all on luck. Amazon uk doesn't give much info other than take your edition or launch edition. Will be surprised whether I end up with standard or steelbook.
