Persona 6 seemingly takes place in Yokohama and its release date is apparently penciled in for September 2027.

Nah 10 years is completely reasonable, it's not like Persona 3 released in 2007 and then Persona 4 released the very next year in 2008 or anything like that.

I am pessimistically cautious mainly because the formula has kind of grown a little bit repetitive for me. I'm not saying I don't enjoy their games but if people can criticize the soul series for being similar and a little archaic in some ways then this series isn't exempt from some constructive criticisms.

You'll never see it comin'!!!!!!!
You'll see that my mind is too fast for eyes
You're done and
By the time it's hit you, your last surprise

I imagine they don't want to do much marketing before the P4 remake is out, it'd be a bit counter productive.

Big franchises are always contentious. But most criticism of the Persona games is from older Americans who yearn for YIIK, rather than concerns about what can be done with the combat or calendar system.

To be clear, I prefer what Japan is offering over most the west in terms of gaming and RPGs. The main exemptions are CDPR and Warhorse, off the top of my head.

This is literally the main character from 4

Was he blonde? Did he have a resting "bitch face"?

The answer is no to both. 😉

And P4/P4G despite some of the darker episodes was much more of a Scooby and the gang summer vacation romp sort of feelings either way the main character reflecting that.

It will be certainly interesting to see what they do with P6.

You were specifically complaining about his bowl cut, but go ahead and move the goalpost to something else I guess, as if being blonde and having a "resting bitchface"(whatever that means) are objectively bad character designs, guess you must have hated Ann and Ryuji's design in 5 then.

Hopefully not true that the setting is more Tokyo slop.

P4 is the greatest Persona game and the countryside setting is why I couldn't put that game down.

I was not a fan of design for both actually or how their storylines were handled. Hell, wasn't a fan of most of P5 past the first castle.

The MC here reminds me of Bebe from P3 which is fine for a side character but doesn't work for MC.

Wrong thread or is this a joke that went over my head?

2027 is literally next year.

I've never seen Persona games in early access? The OP says full release.

It's Atlus.
2 years later there will be a new version with a new playable character, more content, better pacing, quality of life improvements and other changes based on player feedback.
If you aren't affected by FOMO there's no reason to buy Atlus games at launch since they always have an enhanced version a couple of years later (which is a separate purchase, so it's actually worse than early access).

Personally I don't replay 100 hours games very often, specially not after only 2 years. So I always wait for the proper complete edition.

I hope Persona 6's combat would be press turn like in mainline SMT games or at least different than Once More system from P3-5.
I love people like this, it is so funny he wants the studio to alienate the fans who made P3-5 the most successful games in Atlus's history in order to make him happy

Not really most Atlus fans agree that Press turn is just better.

Also Persona 6 gonna be different than P3-5 since Hashino will no longer directing Persona games.

I'm excited to see what they do next :]. For me in every area except the story Persona 5 was a step up, mostly because it went closer to the mechanics of the mainline SMT games, while obviously having like 1000x the budget, so I've got faith.

if it's anything like persona 5, i don't really care when it comes out. persona 3 forever! persona 4 was fine. 5 is self-indulgent narcissism (second only to alan wake 2)...

dragoon quest still strong i assume, not because my avatar, but i only love the slime design

I guess it depends on what define as strong sales? Google says DQ11 + DQ11S has sold over 9 million copies, the highest selling DQ to date, while Skyrim is at 60M copies to date.

Regardless, DQ is stronger than FF, which I don't think has been true historically for FF?

There goes another 100+ hours of my life. I can't way to see the setting/theme and colour. I do wonder if they will make massive changes from 3/5/6. I don't mind if they keep it like 3/5/6 though. Please be good and stay true to the Persona tropes.

I'd put those people right next to the people who can't seem to cope with the protagonist's look but don't realize that Japan has had protagonists like that since Gackt started his career 26 years ago.

if it's only about copies, think about discounted and free copies, because that's how numbers could be "worked" around
also skyrim released more than decade ago, and by the time, DQ got lot of series including remakes and spin off hit more than one million only in japan.
we cannot count copies only. but again, i'm not DQ fans much, only like the slime design

FF however, FFXIV online, alone could generate more income than other FF

it's annoyingly hard to pin point these days.
