Am I the only one?
I think he looks more like vampire Bill

Is it wrong that people like myself prefer playing games on consoles in which has the better versions of graphics &/or performance?
Id say youre doing it wrong if you consider console power over simply enjoying good games. If you cant enjoy a game on a weaker console without thinking how much better itd be on the stronger console and having that thought ruin your fun then thats kinda sad IMO.

Is this the guy that made the point that MS created DirectX and there was no way the ps4 would be seen as being a lot more powerful?

No. That was Albert Penello head of something or other at Microsoft.

Edit: Leads planning for Xbox One/360/Kinect

I did say that I enjoy playing games on weaker consoles if the games on those specific consoles are good enough. And PS1, PS2, & Sega Genesis has tons of great games just like all of the other systems that I've mentioned earlier, & that's why I've had those consoles as well (it's mostly because of Japanese 3rd party games along with me being a fan of Nintendo's, Sega's & Sony's 1st/2nd party titles).

And yet you're arguing against those of us who think that, provided Spencer starts doing what he's supposed to (and is likely to do), that the Xbox games would have games at are "good enough"?

What's your definition of "good enough"? And how is the Xbox excluded from even the possibility of that?

This makes it more likely Xbox will be games focused, and allocate more of their budget towards games rather than Halo TV series and NFL deals and what not. So pretty good news, although they still have a lot of other things to worry about. It's a good start.

So youre going PS4 only ultimately because the games arent good enough on X1 and not because its weaker. Gotcha.

Everyone has certain tastes. I'm just not that big of a fan of Microsoft's 1st/2nd party offerings like I am with Japanese 3rd party games & Nintendo's, Sega's, & Sony's 1st/2nd party games, nor am I very big of a fan on FPS's or Sports titles.

See my above reply.

Everyone keeps throwing this out there in these threads but why drop Kinect if they have proven they'll add value. $450 with Kinect and a game last week. That's essentially less than ps4 or a limited edition X360 from a year or two ago. With a free Skype camera. Just get it to $450 permanently with a rotating game.

I dont doubt Kinect adds value, but Kinects value is subjective, IMO. I dont personally care to use any of its features. I just want to play games.

Sony has pretty much dictated what the "Next gen" console market is.

PS4: $399
XB1: should be $299 (with out Kinect)
or $349 with Kinect or with a game (I'll take a game 100x over Kinect)

Who knows? I might crack if Gears is amazing, like I did with 360. But until then, my money is in my pocket. There's no reason to get it for multiplats if you already own a PS4.

I knew he would be in charge after Don Mattrick left, good to know he'll be the one leading the Xbox division, guy is likable and I can't wait to see what they got in store for E3, looking forward to Sunset Overdrive, D4 and Quantum Break myself.

Right, and that's totally fine. That's not what people are arguing with you about.

It's that you seem to be saying that the Xbox can't have good games. Maybe not to your taste, but you can't argue that they are bad games, because they certainly are not (otherwise why is the Xbox still a viable platform? And why is Halo so popular?). First you were arguing that the Xbox One can't be as good because it doesn't have the capability for as good IQ as the PS4, and now you're saying that you just don't like Xbox games.

Ok, fine, don't like Xbox games, but you should said that from the start.

If you're a person who does not like MS's 1st/2nd party games from the get go, then what business is it of yours to start saying that MS can't have good games? I mean, if you don't like them to begin with, then where to you get off being the judge of whether they are good games or not?

It's kind of like, well DUH you wouldn't think MS could resurrect themselves, because according to your tastes, they can't and never will!

What I'm saying is you don't like MS's games and that you seem to be claiming that that means that MS's console will fail or not be as succesful as the PS4 ever or whatever. That's just a little bit silly.

You seem to be using some very selective reasoning here. "Oh the Xbox games are bad because they don't look as good" and then "Oh the PS2's games don't look as good, but they're still good games."

Well uh, what about the possibility that the Xbox games are good too? Oh, right, you don't like Xbox games, so they don't count. mhm.

I'm saying, if you're going to apply that reasoning to one, you need to apply it to another. Maybe you don't like them, but that doesn't mean they are bad games, and it certainly doesn't mean MS can't turn this ship around, start making more of those games, and succeed.

And I would have to agree with you. The main reason why I've gone for the Original Xbox & Xbox 360 in the first place alongside PS1, PS2, & PS3 was for the better versions of multiplat titles (and games that didn't come to other platforms like Shenmue), the bigger library of XBLA & indie games, & because they had most of the Arcade style Shoot-'Em-Up games on Xbox 360. It was never about Microsoft's exclusives, save for a few like Lost Odyssey & Blue Dragon because they were JRPG's.

Now that PS4 is much stronger than Xbox One is, I just don't see the reason to shell out $900+ on two consoles, especially when I was never a bigger fan of Microsoft's 1st/2nd party games, because they were mostly about FPS's in which I wasn't a big fan of.

That's fine, but that was not you're original claim at all. Originally, you were claiming that MS's 1st/2nd party games were bad and that the Xbox One was irrecoverable.

A far cry from what you're saying now which is "Oh, well I personally just don't like them" which does nothing to prove your point, but at the same time, in that vein, is really all you have a right to say.

Mostly fps? Halo, perfect dark zero.

Now I appreciate there are a lot of halo games but outside of that did ms publish any other fps last gen?

That hybrid xbla title… marathon xbla… perfect dark xbla…

Can't think of any others. Shadowrun, forgot about that.

Gears, fable, forza, kinect sports, mass effect (first one anyway), crackdown, dance Central, Kameo, pgr, Alan wake…

Titanfall/bioshock don't really count as they aren't exclusive or ms games.

Original xbox days… did they publish another fps outside of halo? Probably did but I couldn't tell you myself.

Halo is merely a fraction of the line-up lets not make out that ms mostly make first person shooters because it's just not true.

And for Xbox one of all the 10+ ms published titled announced/released halo is the only fps…

He seems to be the only one that has cared about games, so it will be interesting to see what he makes happen. Hopefully he can turn things around.

Hope he enjoys his sinking ship.

hope he throws the kinect overboard real quick to save the ship

Seriously though, he seems like a good choice and they probably should have done it a lot sooner.

What sinking ship? X1 is not in any position to be a sinking ship... a lost one maybe.

He's a great speaker. That's great for E3 and the market/public perception.
He seems genuine and passionate about games. That's great for gamers.
He is much richer now. That's good for him.

I wish Peter could be back to head the division, but Marc is definitely the best replacement since Moore left.

Good move Satya.

I thought you didn't like Microsoft systems because they ruined the gaming industry at large...

Some people were saying the same about Sony during their early years in the console market.

New players entering the console market is always a good thing in my eyes, as it shakes down the industry and keeps things from going stale.

So why exactly are people so excited? If he is more about games, the damage is already done with Xbone. The console wasn't made to be the ultimate gaming device.
Are you talking spec? You have a Wii U avatar. So since the PS4 is pretty weak compared to high end gpu specs its not the ultimate gaming device?

So a repeat of last year then?
