I don't get it. Isn't this what Xcloud is?
Put into the web browsers so even Switch and PS4-PS5 owners can do it.
You cant stream games to ur xbox or pc yet. You download them and they are different playlists for gamepass on pc and xbox although theres plenty of overlap.Wait what is xcloud then? Is it only for mobile games? I thought it was like a stadia type thing
Does switch have a browser?
No it does not. Not used the ps4 one in so long I forgot it had one.
I wonder how much better the latency for Gamepass will be with a wired connection vs Wifi and cellphone internet.
You can already stream your home Xbox to your Win10 PC (and if your Xbox is hard wired it's 1080p).
This would be for the xCloud Game Pass streaming like on Android devices.
They need to work on browser based streaming of PC and Xbox games. Being able to play full blown PC sim and strategy games with kb/m on a notebook is a gamechanger.
Why bother if you can make a PWA? It would also allow them to get on iOS, like I think Amazon are doing with Luna.I dont think it worth the effort to make it work on browser.
MS could just create clients for Windows, Mac and even Linux.
What's the point when you can just download and play the game locally? It's odd to me that xCloud has gotten the praise that it has if it can't be used directly on the XSX or XSS.
Immediacy. No downloading. What's the point when you can just download and play the game locally?
Yes I understand that. I figure it's why they went with mobile first. It expands the customer base. With that launched, they will continually expand to as many platforms as possible. Good strategy.Immediacy. No downloading.
But yes that's why they started with mobile, mobile has the biggest benefit and you can start small. And why I don't understand this thread, or the people saying 'I knew they'd do this'. This is exactly what xCloud is, I don't know what those people thought it is if they didn't think this would be part of it...

xcloud was limited to 720p I'd guess with pc/console streaming they would have to up the resolution to at least 1080 if they have good compressionI don't get it. Isn't this what Xcloud is?
Pretty sure that's the long game plan for the S.Big for low-cost/non-gaming PC owners. Pick up a controller and play real games.
Likewise, if Microsoft can introduce a third Xbox, solely meant for streaming, and ultra-affordable, that could do well. Others have tried, but I feel like Xcloud/GamePass are in a better place.
Why haven't they branded their streaming service or is it really going to be called xCloud? They should have started with a native client for both Xbox/PC. I mean, Sony has one with the PlayStation Now (Sony should try to be present in the mobile space I guess.) Anyhow, I am surprised they haven't named it yet or maybe they will just roll it under Xbox Game Pass.
