haha thanks I haven't ever heard/read that before... :P

"Say sausage and look happy for the camera or you'll be working in the Windows Phone department next week, bitches!"

Ok - we finished the meeting this afternoon and I had the team pose to take a picture just for GAF. And YES (in advance), the ladies in the picture are part of the team and attend every meeting.

So here's the team saying hi to NeoGAF

It's embarassing that this is even a thing that needs to be said, jesus christ

maybe its just me but half the people in the first picture at at best looking indifferent, i wouldnt go as far as saying "very happy".

I would say that about 99% of the time when someone says there's awesome news -- whether it's something like this or one of those Geoff Keighley teaser pieces -- but doesn't actually say anything about why it's awesome, the news is UNINTERESTING BULLSHIT.

I would be shocked if this were anything different.

EDIT: And I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade -- I would love for something awesome to be behind the curtain. I'm just sick of empty hype.

This is one reason why I love GAF & Microsoft.

So cheezy...

Photos look like they are from an insurance company's team-bonding weekend!!

I'll give MS a tip: If it is something that looks interesting take a picture (clue: Major Nelson's tweet saw a bunch of awesome stuff), if it's not interesting, like a room full of men where their focus is something off screen, don't take a pic.

It was pretty obvious this was just taken for marketing. Microsoft has lost a lot of ground with enthusiast gamers and this is them reaching out trying to say. "Hey, we're human here, not just a global entity taking your rights away. We're still your pals!.
Please buy the first 10 million consoles!
".

Can't wait to see more of the OS. Any word on when we might see a full reveal?

Still have no idea what is so offensive - how about pointing it out for us juniors instead of whatever this is intended to be.

Some people get offended by the old M$ joke about Microsoft being rich as hell and thus adding a dollar sign to replace the S. It was never meant as an insult really but because some kids latched onto using it now the kids on the other side, who have an irrational protection complex for the corporation, only see it as a system wars insult and will look down their nose at you.

Well there's pretty much only one way to look at it don't you think? It was never used as a joke, it was mainly used by Apple and Linux fans in the 90s / early 00s who had an obvious hatred for MS and Windows. So therefore if you're going to use it today, expect to be bunched together with the aforementioned people.

I was like, 10 then, c'mon ... Times are a changing.

Well, I always saw it as a Scrooge McDuck and Rockefeller moneybags type thing which is more of a backhanded compliment than a true insult. Just a popular culture commentary that can be added relatively easily. If your background is one of system wars well back into the 90's then of course your perception will be that it's an insult but you also should be self-aware enough to realise that not everyone comes from that place or is even aware that such foolery and corporate idolatry even took place.

yeah lets twist this into a bad thing. Please don't shit this thread up.

still hyped for launch

Excuse me if I am wrong but I thought using "M$" was frowned upon here or was bannable?

Well, some of us are wondering why. In the last few years on NeoGAF there was a time when you could call someone a retarded arsehole and not be banned but saying a bad word about a console or their manufacturer would get you the ban hammer. Things are a little more sane around here now with the console warriors having to take a back seat so perhaps it's time to put another of those old relics to rest.

Hmmm..

Possibly an exclusive FHL contract deal in the works?

An RTS hockey game that uses Kinect could be amazing. Balancing budgets getting players...etc... Being the coach became a lot more interesting.

Microsoft shouldn't tease they need to show. Xbone might be slightly less powerful on paper but it has more potential than the ps4. They need to show that stuff off so they stand out.
