God damn you, Nintendo.
GOD DAMN YOU!
I've been asking since the GC that this theme be re-used and they use it for THIS!?
I hope you're looking forward to new Legend of Zelda games.

What's wrong with NintendoLand?
I have this feeling that squirrel suit will be one of the only powerups just like in smw with the cape.thank you, sir
edit: Yeah, this pretty much confirms my earlier suspicions about NSMB U. This game looks fantastic in all respects. I just hope there are more power-ups yet to be revealed, hopefully ones that are as awesome as the Acorn appears. Maybe some secret exits? Dare I dream?
You're a tiny little space traveler who's crash-landed on an alien planet with big, scary creatures, but tiny little things called Pikmin surprisingly submit to your leadership and allow you to control them like a pack of ants to do your bidding, attack giant monsters, and hopefully in the end find you a way to get back to your home planet.
Now go and Pikminize yourself
God damn you, Nintendo.

That is a fantastic remix.
Skyward Sword motion controls relegated to a mini game. Where they belong tbh

Agreed and agreed. I love you man.
An art style similar to Super Paper Mario, Kirbys Epic Yarn or Rayman Origins would kill the NSMB/SMW games. They are supposed to be played by anyone and as a consequence everyone must be able to quickly understand and see what to do. The graphics are just there to visualize the obstacle course you have to complete. And that's what Mario is about and why it has always been so successfull.
When I see stuff like this, my reaction is usually: "oh, what could have been". Some kind of Motion+ arcade multiplayer game where players would explore dungeons, complete with different classes, equipment and a leveling system. The Wii could have had such game, and I'm sure it could have been one of those "bridge games" Nintendo used to love talking about. I'm sure regular gamers would have found that refreshing, because strangely there aren't many games like that even with traditional controls. The closest I can think off is Diablo multiplayer, but then that's a PC game with a completely different perspective, a different feel, and which is mostly played online, not together in the same room.
Why Nintendo won't make that kind of full-fledged games but instead tease us with cutesy short minigames baffles me. Clearly this minigame shows that they've already thought about making that type of game. I hope we'll get one on the Wii U.
Hints about future Wii U games...Nothing, heck even if it isn't bundled with the console I'll buy the game, but I want it to be used in a main game, not in a mini-game collection!

That Dark World theme...
fucking nintendo, I've been DYING to hear this theme in another proper Zelda... and they used it on this.
New Super Mario Brothers has an awesome theme it's just really underwhelming with how the games present it. Koji Kondo played it with just a keyboard and it was already a million times better.

Okay, you got a point, but it's just 10 seconds of the melody hidden in the song. :/
Nintendo Land is the Smash Brothers of variety games. The Luigi's Mansion demo was just awkward and did not convey how awesome some of the games are. That Zelda game is almost a 3D version of Four Swords! It has multiple levels and bosses people! It may be in the mini-game genre, but this is a giant step forward from the genre. Each mini-game has actual depth and variety. Each mini-game has an awesome Nintendo theme and soundtrack. The soundtrack and graphics (despite the less serious theme) is high quality!
I look bewildered at people who think this game won't sell if it isn't packed in. The small portion of the game they showed me has convinced me it has amongst the highest sell potential of any new Nintendo franchise in the past few years. If Wii Play, Wii Party, Mario Party sold millions... this game takes a green Bowser dump all over those shallow manifestations.

So it is on rails?
If so, Nintendo underestimate too much casual gamers :-(

I have tremendous respect for Koji Kondo and love most of his music, but judging by this video he's a pretty poor pianist.

why, is it because he bobs his head?
He doesn't seem to be able to keep the rhythm steady enough, and the strength he applies is all over the place. Many moments sound garbled, like you can't make out the melody from the accompaniment at times. Sorry if I get the terminology wrong, it's been a really long while since I last played the piano, and I never got really far. Doesn't mean I have a poor ear though.
This is really not meant as a jab. He's one of the greatest composers in video game history to be sure, but as a pianist he's nothing special. Which is fine, he's a composer first and foremost.
That's not the Dark World theme. THIS is the Dark World theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgQaK7TGjX4
Doesn't look like its on rails, each player moves on their own, the game is just designed so you are encouraged to move forward.
ah, i see. Yeah, I really know nothing about music as jarosh made abundantly clear earlier in this thread (and i will freely admit), so, heh
i was just curious. i thought using your body to keep rhythm is considered poor form or something while performing.

That I have no idea. I meant the rhythm in the actual playing. He seems to be randomly speeding up and slowing down.
Damn you Nintendo, stop making me want to buy this game!!NintendoLand footage from them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQ9UvvreNdM&

So, is Nintendo really serious about this "game"? From the conference it really looked just pure crap.
how could the entire game look like pure crap if they only showed 1 out of 12 mini games?
