I visited it, it's broken in firefox at least. The top bar fits the whole page, but the menu buttons are laying on top of each other and the sections with the posts are all jammed into the left side of the page. I get the idea behind the design though, and once the kinks are worked out it should be really great. Look forward to reading it when that happens.

controller1.com

mainly videogaming related. I also use it as a place to host videos I've made- Most of which are also gaming related. There's also the gaming-related podcast.

I don't know if this counts but I wrote two "blogs" on another forum about my trip to Japan and my trip to Hong Kong / China. What makes these different was the personal aspect, both stories in their own right from experiences I went through, the Japan one was tragic and quite sad, the Hong Kong one has a 'to be continued' type ending.

I would post the links but as they're to another forum, want to check it's ok as I know some of you flame me for advertising, but i'm not, I just didn't have time to set up a blog when I posted them.

Anyone interested?

Ah great, hopefully some people enjoy these,

Alpha's J-Adventure
Alpha's Summer Adventure

I highly suggest reading the J-Adventure first, it will set up for some of the in-jokes in the second blog. What I like best about these are the replies and support I got from the other forum members, kinda makes the whole blog special in a way.

If you read, let me know what you think as i'm planning to do another one soon.

Looks like there's a lot of fluid width action going on causing your site to go crazy when not seen at larger resolutions.

Also, you need to modify the sizes of the media embedded in your posts as they're too large and end up extending over your sidebars.

I checked out some of the blogs on this page - there's some great design here, especially shinyidol.

Waste your time! Read this garbage! (I just started it but its going to be rad)
banter-decanter

or the old discontinued one which is pretty baller too.

I'm reading through your Japan one right now. It's fun reading this since I also went to Japan and I wish I had done something similar. Next time I will. I'll let you know what I think!

Edit: I haven't finished, about half way through, but I thought I would tell you know because I might forget, but it's fun to read this stuff, so many pictures and so many things I didn't see on my time there. :lol

damn, you got some pretty good photos over there!
Thanks! Ya Im hoping that I can add something to the photos in my portfolio by talking a bit about them and the shoots/processes around them. Still trying to find what works best.

Question; I have recently become infatuated with the idea of increasing my blog readership. Anybody have any basic / simple suggestions for accomplishing this?

A Cage for Growing, Nothing More

My Tumblr page. It's not really a "blog" so much as it is a place where I continually put pictures and music that I like along with occasionally typing my thoughts about something. *shrug*

p.s. I sometimes snag pictures from the quarterly photography threads, but I link back to your flickr accounts whenever possible. :)

that's it, i'm starting a blog/tumblr.

god damn, i can see myself changing the appearance of tumblr every other hour.,

I have a couple questions, for anyone who wants to take the time to answer.

I'm brand-spanking new to website creation, but not simple programming and computer usage, and I'd like to get a Wordpress-ish blog set up on a site, and have the domain be my name. For a personal blog.

What do I have to do to set it up? I realize I need to buy the domain, which is usually a yearly fee. But about hosting, does wordpress offer free hosting? No ads would be optimal, but I have no idea as to how the whole hosting thing works. Do I have to buy hosting to guarantee me no ads? I'd like to be able to have certain other things integrated, like Facebook feeds or something like that.

Thank you in advance to anyone who could explain this to me. I searched on Google for things like this, but didn't find the information I was specifically looking for.

The way I do it is go to godaddy and open a host account. It's 5 buck a month. But you get your website.

And the advantage over free options (wordpress.com) is that you have alot more control over the wordpress themes and plugins you can use. You have a lot more options on the side bars too. For example I have my "lifestream" running on the side panel.

But you do need to tweak the plugins yourself, so I don't know how hard it is if you don't know html. You can start a blog in wordpress.com or blogger and get your feet wet first. You can easily export your content and import into a real wordpress hosting later.

My website is www.tinotino.org , its really catered for friends and family. So alot of random stuff that's pointless to other people.

So I had a random idea to start a blog today with the aim of writing my thoughts on certain topics that interest me. Only got one post at the moment which didn't take very long but I'm not sure about the writing style etc of it. anyways if you got any opinions especially critical etc please say.

Our brand new redesign is UP! Check it out: http://thefilmstage.com/

Suggestions welcoming, still needs a bit of fine tuning.

Drop-down Menu can use some work, it the drop-down feels out of place sometimes. What are you using for that?

The tag cloud, ends up being a list of tags.

I would move the search box to align with the menu.

I see the pictures with the title, "Whats in a Biopic?", but they are not clickable.

I would move Twitter over Facebook, the concept of that site lends itself to Tweet Updates a lot more than Facebook updates.

This is all on IE8, Compatibility View.

Thanks for the suggestions. I definitely need to work on the IE version. Tag cloud needs to be totally redone. For the javascript picture animation thing you should be able to click the middle and it will go to the article. Twitter is getting moved as well. Let me know if anyone sees anything else that can be changed!

www.owlk.net

Just a blog containing some of my ramblings. It's not so much a philosophical blog but rather a blog about general things I find interesting. It mostly discusses non-controversial science/societal issues. I try to not make it too personal.

Year of the Backlog Books Blog
http://backlogbooksblog.blogspot.com/

"Forty books. One year. An average of one book every nine days. Follow the adventure."

I'm currently behind the pace, but plan on catching up.
Your blog gets negative points because you didn't like Neuromancer ;)

grinditoutsports.com

This is a humble sports blog that a friend and I started a couple of years ago after we both stopped writing for our local newspapers. We've had a bit of luck, getting some of our posts linked to si.com's Hot Clicks and USA Today's Game ON sections, most recently for my friend's post about Ozzie Guillen's Twitter account.

We've had the good fortune to be able to make a bit of money off of this venture, but we've both been too busy with our jobs and schooling to make the site a full time project. I'm also working on starting up a personal blog to coincide with heading back to school full time, but that's still in the works. Anwyway, I hope you enjoy our little sports site.

Oh fantastic. I'd love to pimp my blog!

This is a new blog I started last week. It focuses specifically on my obsessive nature towards video game packaging, official products and DLC. I've been posting in a sort of chronological order starting from when I got my 360 in late 2007.

I just updated it a moment ago. I post twice a week.

I just have a livejournal:

Munch's Journal

Just a bunch of ramblings from me. I'm going to start doing art dumps next week. I am ALWAYS looking for LJ friends if someone wants to befriend me. :D

Dude that looks awesome. Not a comic geek myself but I'm digging the layout. Mind if I ask what specific platform you used for the website? Wordpress, Tumblr?

Anyhoo, here's mine: :D

Thanks. It's all custom. The CMS I made myself for clients over the years and set it up for this kind of website. There's a lot more features, but holding them back at the moment to fine tune everything before I push the site.

Nice blog you've got there. Flavors.me seems like a pretty cool platform for personal blogs all in one place. If that's what it is.
