OMEGA-LEVEL
Everything nerd, comics, games, movies, books, TV, and more. I write a weekly feature on there, and the occasional other story or review. The blog belongs to a good friend (Caffeine-Powered, on the site) who basically has the greatest, most energized and insane blog-writing style in small doses I've ever read in my life. Kid's enthusiasm for all the subject matter is as palpable as the vein throbbing with over-caffeinated stimulation in his neck. I'm pretty sure his heart's exploded twice already.
Atypical highlights compared to most nerd/pop-culture blogs out there, in addition to the usual news bits on comics/games/popculture:
• A weekly beer review, with a new brew featured every Friday
• A daily (or every-other-daily) dose of incredible shots of cosmic phenomena and space in general with hilarious commentary (space is a second-love and weakness of my friend, and he finds incredible photos)
• Original writing (short stories, novella, and now a comic book) from another major site contributor, Rendar Frankenstein.
My contributions so far:
Weekly recaps/analyses/essays on Game of Thrones, which have been met with some decent reception! (thanks GoT GAF!)

My Avengers analysis/review (which has likewise, been happily received for being just plain different from the usual blasé 'professional' reviews laced with spoilers you'd rather not read. I think I managed to skirt and avoid that danger pretty well!)

Two pieces I did way back, one on the Toronto FanExpo Convention experience, and one on the reveal of Mists of Pandaria. I have press beta access to the expansion and will be doing a roundup feature soon designed for 'normal' players; for everyone who won't be reading MMO-Champion's daily updates and notes and needs someone to make sense of all that crap and distill the real meat of the changes for them. A 'why will this expansion matter to me?' kind of piece.

Other things are planned too, including a feature celebrating the Midnight Movie phenomenon, and interviews with hubs of gaming culture in Toronto, like vintage gaming stores, board game café owners (Snakes & Lattés) and more. Striving to do very unusual interviews with questions all the usual press doesn't bother asking.
