PixelEnemy: Dead Rising 3 coming to Xbox 360 [False]

It's amusing to see the terror in some of these posts over the possibility of it even coming to a MS platform that isn't the XBO.

I could say "it's amusing to see the terror in some of these posts over the possibility of it being completely exclusive to MS platforms 360 and XBO"

I don't know what will happen, the only announced version is still the XBO one, so all this talk is still pointless. maybe Capcom will release a different (gimped) 360 version, maybe a PC one, or maybe just the current fact: XBO exclusive.

tl;dr: I'll wait for a confirmation, but imho, it's great for all 360 owners.

PS.- this will be my launch day game

So was Mass Effect and a number of other titles that eventually floated to other platforms.

$10 says no more than 18 months after Dead Rising 3 drops on the XB1, it will at least be announced on the PC as some sort of 'remix' or 'goty' edition.

We are talking about Capcom, I know they're a rainy day publisher for people depending on where their games are tho. If it's Dead Rising 3, it's going to be the best thing ever, but if it's Deep Down, it's going to be complete shit.

They aren't going to admit it being a time exclusive since they want want it to sell some X1s. As long as Capcom owns the IP, they can wait out about a year or so, and publish it themselves on other platforms themselves. They developed it on high end PCs, so a pc port seems the most likely. Capcom has pulled this crap in the past, remember Street Fighter on SNES and Genesis.

How long did it take for Mass Effect to come to the PS3? You are talking the exceptions not the rule.

So who is surprised? Should be nobody!!

Dead Rising 3 was originally going to be an Xbox 360 game, they upgraded it for Xbox One, but will still release it for the 360 as well.

Makes perfect business sense.

Keep hope alive!

As I said, I played the abortion that was DR2 after DR1 was so great, and I've seen what Capcom has turned into over the last few years, so any hope I have of DR3 being decent on any platform is pretty small. I'd like to be pleasantly surprised, because eventually I will buy an XBO, and if it's good, I'll definitely play it.

Does XBO have any remaining true exclusives other than Forza?

Ouch, this was the only game I wanted on the console that made me potentially buy it but due to the cost of XBO I'll live with a gimped X360 version, Esp. If it retains 'open world' aspect.

I don't think they made it up. Their site and staff are usually competent from my experience. They have a lot of followers on Twitter and FB. Might have been a misunderstanding but I don't see how something like "It was going to launch on 360" could have been so misconstrued.

Anyway, tweeted Major Nelson about it, hope he gets back to me.

Hey, thanks! Yes, our guy there re-affirmed to me what he heard. Could our guy misheard or did the dev let the cat out of the bag abruptly? Both are viable things, which we're further confirming now.

And just to add, we'd never make stuff up just for "teh hitz" or something. I can genuinely say we don't need to and that's something we'd never even consider.

We've broken a few stories before, but more often than not, some of the "big" sites get it, don't source us and they get sourced instead. Nature of the craft, I guess.

Pixel Enemy isn't exactly the bastion of quality journalism, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is fake.

And above it looks like that is the case.

Just to clarify, we're not "game journalists." I've been doing this professionally for years and I never considered myself a journalist. But what have you seen before from us before to highlight we're "not the bastion of quality journalism?"

Editor-in-Chief of Pixelenemy.

Also excaliburps here on GAF. Mind helping us out here dude?

I've emailed Capcom and they said, " Microsoft is handling Dead Rising 3," so I need to check with MS.

I've emailed MS and have yet to hear a response. I will update you guys (and the post) once we do -- regardless if we got it wrong or if they say "no comment."

Can you share some impressions?

I had a Capcon Vancouver dev walking me through the demo.

Game was locked at 30fps, looked great too. Tons of zombies on screen. Hundreds? Maybe a thousand +? (I didn't count so I'm not sure).

Great variety of weapons, had a flame thrower, machine gun, sledge-hammer and something that sort of resembled a toast mixed with a sledge-hammer I think that electrocuted the zombies.

Dr1/2 felt very clunky to me, this one felt a lot more fluid. When you go into aim mode with left trigger it felt a lot more like Gears of War/other normal third person games and it really worked, made it much easier to shoot/aim weapons at zombies but you didn't need to use it to fire weapons. Standard melee weapon stuff there too.

I got to drive a sports car around and run over zombies. I did some vehicle combos too. I mixed a construction digger with an standard american car and made like an armoured military vehicle that had a turret on top and ran over/shot zombies.

Then I got the vehicle in a lot of the promo stuff mixing a bulldozer with a motorcycle and I got to ride that around too. Did a donut with it and it also has a flamethrower attached setting all the zombies in a basketball court on fire, I could drive over the fences etc too. The game looked fantastic, no slowdown, didn't notice tearing or jaggies etc either.

I can't explain how great it felt. Definitely my most anticipated next-gen game atm.

I killed over 2000 zombies in the 10 minute demo.

The controller got more clunky at Eurogamer?

A lot of the press are not going to outright complain about something before it's released, but over the past few months I've heard several members of the press mention on podcasts that the controller is a little odd. Complaints seem to focus around the bumpers not being as easy to press/responsive as they should be, and even some complaints about the shape of the triggers.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear a lot more of this around launch, when lots of people have it in their hands.

Ryse and Killer Instinct.
Exclusives that I actually care about... yea only Forza.

Isn't begging ban able?

Doesn't seem to be based on how much port begging has been going on the past few months.

I think it looks surprisingly good and the demo from PAX (or was ti comic con?) looked really good too. They've managed to retain at least some elements from the past games as well as refining and making some much needed changes. Not happy about the removal of the timer or that there's only seven psychopaths, but it is what it is.

Anyway, I'm still not sure I believe this. I could see a bridge game coming out on 360 to entice people to buy DR3 on X1, but DR3 on 360? Not sure I believe it. I know it started life on the 360, but the shift to X1 has allowed to change the game to the point where I'm not sure it would be a serviceable port on 360.

game world bigger than DR1 & 2 combined, no load times, instant crafting, stable frame-rate, considerably more happening on screen, more zeds, etc. A 360 release would likely be unplayable or changed to the point where it's, at some level, not the same game as DR3 on X1.
