This is the first I've heard of this game.

The best way to describe Nom Nom Galaxy is “genre-blending,” but at its core it’s about creating enormous soup factories with your friends and shipping tasty soup into outer space!
Nom Nom Galaxy combines many themes of gameplay, with equal elements of classic platforming, mining, construction, resource management, and tower defence.

Looks interesting, I'll probably pick this up. PixelJunk games were really good on the PS3 and I put a good amount of time into Shooter on the PS4. I like how the worlds have a slight curve to them.

Release is out of nowhere, but I think I recall them announcing it at some point last year. Maybe during a trade show?

The base in that screenshot looks beautiful.

That description... I must have this...its sounds like its on the noby noby boy side of the WTF Scale.

Eh not quite unless you mean story/premise-wise which is pretty bonkers. Gameplay-wise, it plays a fair bit like Terraria with a significant base building/defense focus. Plays great with a controller...did this leave early access on PC? I bought it day one of early access but only played a few hours, was going to wait for the full version.

Played the early access on Steam and honestly didn't feel it. I loved the simplistic gameplay and artstyle of the PixelJunk games, this one is just really different.

Yeah, it doesn't really feel like a Pixeljunk game in a lot of ways. Pretty complicated instead of the simple pure gameplay stuff. Kinda has this feeling of stress that isn't in most of their other stuff. Still seems neat though, just not quite my thing though I did enjoy it after getting used to it.

Wait, what? Is this the first we've heard of this game? I've never heard of it.
Nah, it's been on PC "early access" for like a year.

Oh? Maybe I should get around to installing it since my opinion of PJ is the exact opposite... Cool-looking games that ultimately just feel shallow and pointless, IMO.

Huh. I've played nearly every PixelJunk game so I'll probably play this. They tend to back up their bright, poppy visuals with really solid, satisfying mechanics and co-op support. Hopefully the same is true here.

Come to think of it this game is probably best in co op (more than usual), managing the base can be a bit hectic/confusing solo.

"Genre-blending", the new "Rogue-like".

My backlog is full at the moment, but I'll keep an eye to see what others think.

I have no idea what I just watched in the trailer but I can build stuff.

I like building stuff.

And yet I don't play Minecraft, hmmmmm.

This was formerly known as "PixelJunk Inc.", wasn't it?

Was it? I was wondering what happened to PixelJunk Inc and PixelJunk Dungeon. Did I miss those?

I remember years ago, they showed off several concept screens for new games that they were making, and I'm not sure if we've seen any of them yet.

Nice. I knew this was coming to PS4, but I had no idea it would be this soon.

This'll help make the wait for TCC a bit more tolerable.

This was Pixeljunk Inc, I don't think Dungeons ever turned into anything, not yet anyway.

Man, what happened to these guys? Seems like they keep moving further and further from the simple and addictive fun of Monsters and Eden.

Isn't it really just this game and Tomorrow Children that are different and complicated? Tomorrow Children isn't even under the pixeljunk banner at all and this one sort of puts it to the side. Pixeljunk Sidescroller was great too though no one seems to know it exists.

I still want a sequel to Eden. Absolutely the best Pixeljunk game. Haven't really enjoyed most of their other games and I still have no idea what Nom Nom Galaxy even is. I think I have it on Steam from some super cheap bundle

Is the PC version launching too? Is the PS4 version feature complete? If more content is added to the PC version, will the PS4 version get that content as well?

PC Version reached version 0.99 a few weeks ago so I think it's safe to say it'll be out of EA soon.

Oh man. I won't even bother looking up what this game actually is. Day 1.

It's been so long, PixelJunk series!

Can we please just get a sequel to Monsters? Or at least port the expansions to ps4. Have to agree I like the more simple titles from them. But if the creative spark is with this new genre of gameplay blending can't fault them

I would happily pay for Monsters for the 26th time.

This looks neat too.

A port of Monsters to PS4 that actually included the PSP content (which they for some reason never added to the PS3 version) would be great.

I would fucking love a sequel though. It's still the best TD game ever, IMO.

you had me until "tower defence", meh'd out on that, hope it's minimal

It's probably not quite what you're thinking. Stuff attacks your base in realtime on occasion and you need to use towers or your own attacks to stop them. It's hardly my favorite part of the game, but the game is mostly about exploring and base building, defense is just an aspect of the base building.

Honestly any non-Racers pixeljunk game is due for a sequel (though Shooter already got one). Eden would be my favorite but Monsters would probably be the easiest to sell. Surprised the Vita version wasn't ported to PS4 by now. For a while they were pretty down on console gaming though (around the time PJ Inc was revving up) so maybe that was a phase they're over.

I wasn't crazy about this when I played it on EA last year. I might give it another shot now they feel it's in a state ready to release.

Looks pretty weird and fun. Shame about the vita version, will look into picking it up if it ever gets back on it. I think I'd rather play it handheld as it seems like a something to play in bed and be able to inspect all the details.

This looks interesting. I do want a PS4 port of Side Scroller though. That's probably my favorite PixelJunk next to Shooter.

I seem to remember a game like this, that was 8 bit styled I wanna say, and was about mining, and everything could be automated. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Also this looks neat.

*gets excited*

*sees it's for PS4*

*gets deflated*

*checks Steam anyways*

*sees that it's already there on early access*

*hype*

Oh nice, then I'm guessing the PC version has come a long way since I last played it. I'll have to get back to that.

Interesting... well, I've played every other PixelJunk game and liked them all so this must be good too right?

P.S. I need more Monsters and Eden

Well, it's a new Pixel Junk game, fuck yeah I'm in. Love these. It also looks like a ton of fun, just gotta find someone who wants to play a weird game like this in local coop with me.

Everything sounds good except the tower defense stuff, just a personal preference. Love the weird style and I'm glad it's finally coming.

The description sounds so awesome.

I'm glad the Pixeljunk series seems to be back on track after the heavily disappointing one-two punch of Sidescroller and... that music thing.

This looks amazing.
