I went to Smith and Wollensky's. So good. Amazing food there.

Their Salad was amazing. They even let us walk through the Kitchen to get to the parking lot out back.

Otherwise I thought the food was kinda "meh". I don't remember anything special about the Steak or Mac n Cheese.

Going to Vegas this weekend. Any other deals going on like the one for Love? Not a beetles fan buy interested in some shows, just not ones for $100.

http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/promo/summer-las-vegas/default.aspx

It says tickets must be bought 21 days in advance to receive the discount, but I have bought tickets under this same deal two years ago literally 1 hour before the show and still received the discount.

Other deals:

http://www.travelzoo.com/entertainment/las-vegas/

Peepshow for $35 is pretty good. It is a pretty well produced show, plus there are lots of boobs.

http://smartervegas.com/show-tickets.aspx

Blue Man Group for $65 isn't too bad. I've sat in the cheap seats all the way against the wall and the vantage point was still fine.

Thanks for all the advice

Decided to see the following shows when i go in late August:

  • Le Reve
  • Cirque De Soleil Ka
  • Blue man Group
  • Penn n Teller

Going to pre-book the shows from this site as the deals look good (if anyone knows of better deals for the above shows please let me know

http://www.showtickets.com/

Any advice on places to eat at reasonable prices? (love Mexican food, burgers, pizza's, steaks, Indian food)

Also what attractions are must see's?

Currently thinking of seeing the Mob Museum, Madame Tussauds, gonna go explore Fremont street (this is the old vegas right?), Car museum in Imperial and Aquarium in Mandaly

There is an amazing Thai place in East Fremont right across the street from Insert Coins-can't remember the name, though. It's a tiny hole in the wall, but worth it.

As far as the tickets, a lot of people swear by Tix4Tonight. It's a day-of, half price tickets kind of thing. But I think you have to line up right when they open. I've never bothered to try it.

You can get good deals but you gotta be willing to compromise if the show you want sells out early.

Does anyone know of any sites which lists what events or dj's/celebs will be at the various clubs and on which days?

I just read Big Boi from Outlast will be at Pure on 21st August but that's the day I arrive so will end up missing that but will be good to know who else will be there next week (if anyone)

Thanks

Me and the wife are in Vegas right now. What are the best options for us to get a pass for a club tonight? Is their a list of what music the clubs will be playing tonight?

I raise this thread from the grave as I just booked a trip to Luxor March 22-25th!

2nd trip to Vegas

Someone update on what is good, what the best values are and what the hell is a Pool Holiday

I'm going for the first time on Sat. Staying at the Mirage. I like drinking, food, shows and drinking so I can't see how I'd have a bad time. Going from 2 feet of snow to 65 on Sunday won't be terrible. I'm surprised how many people tell me "Hoover Dam trip!" so it's booked.

I've recommended it before, but the Pinball Hall of Fame is a must-do in Vegas:

Google even street-viewed the place:

I see O'Sheas and Bills are gone, is there another spot on the strip with 1-2 dollar margaritas?

If you're going to drink, please go to a bar called The Griffin on Fremont Street. Easily the most lad back bar I've been to yet.

I went two weekends in a row in January, was awesome. Stayed at the Venetian and Palazzo. The Palazzo casino kinda sucks - it's a nice layout but the pay tables on things like video poker are really weak. There are a couple of old VP machines at the Venetian that pay 8/5, which isn't terrible. I guess the Palms has a lot of full pay VP so next time I'll probably stay there. But I'm trying to build up enough of a history on my players club card at the Venetian/Palazzo to start getting comps, upgrades, etc.

Vegas is really great, you can get a lot out of it without spending much - it really depends on attitude. You can have have just as awesome a time paying $50 a night at the LVH as you can paying $1200 a night at the MGM Skylofts.

Have you done Fremont street yet? If not def take a visit there, do the zip line, watch a band perform, and eat drink and gamble for ridiculously cheap. downtown Vegas is a lot of fun especially with a group

A lot of people don't bother spending much money on hotel rooms since they plan on being out all night, but if you are a hotel enthusiast, I highly recommend staying at the Cosmopolitan. The cheapest base room doesn't have a balcony, but if you pay about $30 extra and go up a level, all the rooms have sizable balconies. Open air rooms are pretty rare on the Strip, so being able to open the door and step outside for fresh air is awesome. Go for the Fountains view room and it is simply spectacular.

I can watch the Bellagio fountains all day long so this was pretty special. Unfortunately, you can't hear the music from the room.

Yea, I did Fremont twice actually

Did they change up the fountain songs? Or is it still time to say goodbye, shania twain (i think?) and frank sinatra?

I'm thinking of a Vegas trip with me and my friends this summer for me turning 21 last out of us all. I'm never been there so I'm expecting it to be pretty nuts. Thread seems loaded with very useful stuff, I'll definitely take note.

There is that little dump next to Circus Circus, if you want to travel up to the North Strip. Slots A Fun, I believe.

Wow. Will definitely look into this next time I go.

I stayed at the Mandalay bay last time which was but a little too far south IMO.

Things to do:
EATING
- strip steak
- bellagio buffet
- the Italian place in Caesars next to the fountains in the shopping mall.

TO SEE/DO

Bellagio fountains
Mirage volcano
Old town (golden nugget etc)
Stratosphere tower and rides
Simply walking down the strip through all the hotels. You will see lots and its very enjoyable. This will take some time but totally worth it.
Club at tryst in the Wynn. Probably the best clubbing night I've ever had. We did have a table though.
Renting out a car and seeing the Hoover dam. Probably took us 30-40 minutes to drive.
Won't mention a particular show as its all subjective

GAMBLING
I'm not a big gambler but honestly try wheel of fortune in New York New York. I was on it 20 minutes each day and not once did I leave down! Love that game.

WHAT NOT TO DO
Let cabbies take you back to a massage palour when drunk coming home from a night out. You are promised a happy ending and all you get is a hand rub which you are forced to pay 700 dollars for and then forcibly removed.

I'm playing myvegas on facebook, trying to unlock the Belaggio lunch buffet......is that the best buffet? Everyone says to go

Thanks for reminding me I won't be able to go Vegas anytime soon (although it wouldn't be worth it before my 21st birthday anyway).

What does it have?

If I go for lunch can I take my time in there and end up staying for dinner too?

It has everything. Sushi, salad, cavery, steak, pizza, pasta, Chinese food, Indian food, you name it. Dessert options are also fantastic. They are definitely not pushy and you can certainly take your time as the seating area is huge. I doubt you can stay all the way through to dinner as I think there is an hour or so where they get rid of the lunch menu and replace it with dinner. I should probably state that the two times I've been, it was for lunch.

Thanks

Oh yea, everyone who is planning to go to vegas check out myvegas on Facebook as well as myvegasguides :)

It's a facebook game that earns you MGM rewards

The Bacchanal at Ceasars Palace is awesome.

As far as other eats, gotta get some Earl of Sandwich. Ridiculously good grub.

Also, going to the Pinball HoF is a must.

Casino Royale. They also have $1 michelob if you can stomach it.

Heading back at the beginning of May and super excited.

Since you are going to be there for March Madness are you there for the games?

This thread is having a bad influence on me. The problem with Vegas being a 5 hour drive is that it's too easy to just say fuck it and go...

Not sure if you will see this, but if you are really into the games Cosmo is doing a little something.

I'm sure there will be events like this all over town though. Have fun!
I just found out they used to have an EA Sports Bar there but it closed down a couple of months ago. They even had Playstation 3 consoles where you could play the EA Sports games. Man, I wish I would have known about this a few months ago since I live here.

Playing myVegas on Facebook for the past 6 weeks and I've managed to earn....

Free night at Luxor
50 dollar dining credit at the Monte Carlo (going to use it at Andre's)
And I have one more reward to redeem, it'll be either 100 dollars for the irish pub at NYNY or 150 dollars for a steakhouse :)

I'm playing this also. I've only earned the free night at Luxor so far.

I'll be going back again in July for Evolution 2013. I might be looking to stay at The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace). I heard they renovated the place decently.
