Platinum explains why Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive

Wii U deals are pretty frequent, so I don't know if it's thread worthy.

There are a lot of reasons to buy this console, I just thought this is a good place to post the deal for those on the fence.

Turns out you were right that it wasn't threadworthy, the listing's already ended from selling out. Wii U March NPD > 909 confirmed!

Should I be happy if MJ was revived but he teamed up with the Jonas Brothers?

You mean if he teamed up with the Beatles, right? Trailblazers who created genres that didn't exist before they came.

(MS are clearly the Jonas Brothers - up and coming new kids on the block backed by mega advertising, courting the hardcore teenagers).

I kid... a little.

If I recall correctly it was Platinum choice to let Sega handle the PS3 port, which they regret. Furthermore I am sure Platinum will have no problem working with Sega again if they want to.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I always was under the impression Platinum never wanted a PS3 version in the first place.

Did not know Platnium gave their consent to let Sega handle the port.

It bothers me that they have to continue justifying that this is a Wii U exclusive. I wish people would just let it be. Exclusives happen all the time.

Regardless, it looks great and I cannot wait.

I am loving what I am seeing in those gifs above. Looks to have a nice visual style and be completely chaotic at the same time. I rented the first game for the PS3 and did not really love it to be quite honest, but it also did run like ass.
Am no doubt going to give this second one a solid chance, looks to be a lot of fun.

I think Bayonetta 2 being a WiiU exclusive is great, it opens up the posibility of Bayonetta 3 on a relevant platform later on when otherwise the franchise would be completely dead. So Thanks Nintendo to give Bayo the chance to live on. Too bad I won't pay 300€ for just one game.

The nonsense continues...

I wonder if half the people who bitch about Bayonetta 2 bought the original game in the first place? Because if the sales were better, we wouldn't be in this
glorious
mess in the first place.

I'm sure everyone has noticed the incredibly bizarre situation where people want 1, 2, 3 or more games but are unwilling to either buy the system, or buy it for anything less than $99, or $199, or some other arbitrary price.

If I wasn't an owner already, it'd have to not only have lots of games I want coming but also some nice technical chops, an interesting digital store and an account system not tied to hardware would be nice. Additional exciting features like cross play/buy, chat for those that like it, game streaming or whatever.

Wii U has next to none of that. As a machine, to most people, it's little more than a simple box to put a game in every now and then. I'd hardly call it a gaming lifestyle machine where a gamer has a "Relationship" with their console, it's ecosystem, features, and platform holder. Meanwhile a shit tonne of games will pour out for XBO and PS4 along with those systems' exclusives. The platform holders will push the technology, and add interesting features to get gamers excited.

Which one do you think people prefer to spend their money on? (Assuming they're not Nintendo fans as that's a given then).

Bayonetta 2 is going to flop so bad and whilst I think Platinum will be excited they got to make it, there's gotta be a little bit of a yukky taste in their mouths, knowing what's coming (And what happened with W101).

You're not looking for any console then.

Maybe that's why I'm contemplating a Steam Machine :). Alternatively a PS4 is on the cards and with that I am at least certain almost all third party games will come to it. Likewise with XBO. With the Wii U it's not going to happen.

I also believe the digital stores of both the XBO and PS4 will be better than Wii U simply because Wii U's store is bereft of much content at all and Nintendo treats the VC like some plague.

I don't see how it's incredibly bizarre when you're looking at a console that's got one foot in the grave already and is only known for getting Nintendo games, if you have 2 games you want on the console right now, those might be the only two games you ever buy for the thing. Even if I had the money to spend on it on top of my other gaming purchases I'd need a lot of convincing to pick up a Wii U.
