Anyway, I usually just check the P1Ps featuring old school EGM stories/guests, but I figured I'd listen in this week after a really good edisode last week, and I'm glad I did. You guys are funny, amicable nerds. I think I'll try to catch your show more regularly from now on.
I'm loving the number of quality podcasts available these days, even if I'm only able to catch them occasionally (they're all so damn long).
Years ago, I wrote to EGM explaining why I thought their personalities were one of their biggest assets that were being underutilized. As the magazine shrunk, less space was available for profiles, op-eds, and other miscellaneous pieces that would help the reader connect with the magazine through its staff. With video shows, podcasts, and blogs, the connection between the readers and the writers is being re-established, and it's a great thing! A well-written article is still well-written if you aren't familiar with the author's past articles and personal preferences, but if you are familiar with their past articles and personal opinions, it's even more enjoyable (see: Roger Ebert).
