I have a wireless transmitter for the Xbox 360 and i've been playing DOA4 online. My question is this: Is there any reason that the wireless transmitter would work slower than just plugging it in directly? Should it be working just as well? Seems my games online are always stuttering and never sure if its me or the other player.

A lot of people are getting lag while trying to play DOA4 online (while some others swear they don't). It isn't just you. One person with a bad connection can ruin it for everyone. If your other games are fine I doubt that it has anything to do with your using a wireless adapter. Its most likely an issue with DOA4 itself.
I was lagging horribly till I returned my Linksys router for a Netgear, now im totally lag free unless i play someone else whos laggy. Im pretty sure certian routers have issues with this game over wireless. It was the same as you though, i could watch matches without lag then when i fought it was laggy.

I bought it last week and it's a HUGE improvement over my previous router. No lag whatsoever. The only problem is that's it's a little pricey ($150) for a router but you get what you pay for.
I haven't tried it out on a 360 yet 'cause mine still hasn't arrived..... *grumble* ....but it works like a charm with my laptop and DS.

Does anyone know if you can use another wireless adapter with the 360? Other USB adapters than the official one, maybe? I take it that the 360 works fine with wireless bridges that plug directly into the ethernet port, as well?

More like $120 at Newegg. But your post is QFT because it's the best damn router I've used.

You can play 20 player PDZ matches and one person's bad connection is not gonna screw up the match. In regards to the original poster's question. Can someone actually tell us if wireless network technology is actually slower than a wired connection? I know that the wired connection carries more data but does the wired connection actually carry data faster?

It isn't about that. You have the obvious bandwidth specs. 802.11G is 54mbps and your network card is probably 100 mbps. These are irrelevant however, since you're playing on a 3-6 mbps internet connection with 128-384 kbps upload. The problem comes from latency and packet loss. You'll have some right off the bat from your ISP. Interference in your house has much more potential to interrupt your wireless connection than your wired, but the actual amount varies depending on conditions.
How are Ridge Racer (remember to turn off media sharing on your Xbox before you play it online) and Perfect Dark Zero for you? Any lag?
Personally, I have always found that I get a smoother connection playing online through a wired set up rather than through a wireless connection.
That said, I do find more lag in DOA4 compared to the other games I play online. Never do quick play and always look for games with the best connection speeds when you play online.
