Isn't the PC pretty popular in Germany? They might not really need an Xbox and decide to get a PS4 for exclusives.I'm surprised the UK number is lower than Germany. Microsoft must have made a resurgence in the UK and chomped in to Ps4 numbers a little.
That's just proof that sales of consoles is no longer concentrated as they were used to. That a global strategy is the only way to go. Much like how Hollywood can't assume they only make movies that sell well in the US, games and consoles are now marketed everywhere.30 million is a lot lower than I would have thought, considering it's near or over the 100 million mark worldwide.

It's way overdue; they've priced themselves out of entire markets by staying where they are. Hopefully they'll wake up, but I wouldn't hold my breath. If sony dropped the price of the OG Ps4 and Slim, to have a stock clear-out ready for next year, they would hit 120 million in no time.
I expect HUGE discounts at Xmas. Hopefully a £100 PS4 bundle.
Already it is not 29 but rather a little less than 20 million who represent the rest of the world.so where is the other 29 million consoles sold.

How about south america and asia
We already heard enough from NA and Europe
Would love to see some actual numbers from there
They need to clear out the old stock of OG ps4's at some point. I can't imagine it's still cheap for them to manufacture, unless it's offset by the PS4PRO.It's way overdue; they've priced themselves out of entire markets by staying where they are. Microsoft on the other hand, need to take the hit and drop their console prices by 50% across the board. Use it as a springboard for Gamepass and beat Sony to the launch of Next gen

Meh US market is tiny compared to China
Imagine if just 10% of China had PS4
thats over 100 million unit sold
Those look wrong. Some estimates for the rest of the world (Africa, Middle East, Asia and Latin America).
PS4 : 19.4 million
XBO : 4.6 million
3DS : 4.3 million
Switch : 3.7 million
Vita : 2.5 million
WiiU : 0.2 million
Seems about right.
US takes around 30% of PS4 sales.
In XB1 case US takes near 60% of sales.

Where are those from?
Wii U just 200k units?
It is almost certainly past the PSX right now, PS2 would likely require some sharp price drops to achieve. Is it going to surpass ps1 or ps2?
He's a REEEEEE mod, if you don't agree with them 100% your getting banned/blocked. You probably had an opinion that was only 99% aligned with his.![]()
I dont remember why, but I'm proud of it![]()
Other markets for PS4 :

Germany : 7,2 million
UK : 6,8 million
France : 6 million
Spain : 3.1 million
For comparison with PS3 numbers lifetime sales :
Japan : 10.47 million
UK : 5.92 million
France : 5.18 million
Germany : 4.54 million
Spain : 3 million
Hold on, the console market is dead in japan, so shouldn't those numbers be waaay lower for the ps4 there than two million less than the ps3s?
Consoles being 'dead' over there gets blown way out of proportion.Hold on, the console market is dead in japan, so shouldn't those numbers be waaay lower for the ps4 there than two million less than the ps3s?

Maybe 45m at the end of lifecycle. Again, depends on discounts.I agree. I was expecting at least 50 million or something.
The difference though is diminishing returns.Cross-gen early on, like every gen.

They should have it down to 200 to 220 for slim by now to introduce more potential PS5 customers though.
How much of the decline is due to the prices of consoles/games?Consoles being 'dead' over there gets blown way out of proportion.
It's declined massively since last gen and the generation before that, but thats more indicative of how ridiculously massive it used to be, not a statement of how relatively healthy it currently really is.
I mean there's a reason it still has so many games made there and such a high number of titles that still never make it outside Japan, or if they do they're so niche as to seemingly barely cover translation costs.
