Ironically the devs that could produce games on Cell are the best in the industry & now are the PS studios. Cell literally weeded out who were the super programmers. Crazy in that chaos Sony still found wins. Is that luck or what!!
I can see PS6 departure from the PC architecture if they find a new potential of better gaming experience and power for the same money yet make it dev-friendly.

Don't think thats possible with AMD making the chips. AMD would want to profit from the collaboration. (Assumption) I actually think some PS games going to PC is to boost GPu card sales. PC gaming is dogshite. The games on PC platforms do not convince people to buy expensive GPU cards. If they get some good looking PS games they can sell more GPU cards. I think PS agreed to this sadly. Right now the difference between Nvidia & AMD. Is that AMD has access to elite devs , imagery & sound specialist in Sony. Nvidia say it many times in their key notes they don't have devs to push their hardware/techniques. They got DLSS 2 years after PS4PRO. That tells you how far ahead Sony are in imagery space. It's only a matter of time before AMD goes number 1.

The best PS can do is create a Gen. That PC misses out on games because of the the custom hardware. That PC cant replicate (at that time) because of all the OEMS & standards motherboard design sets. PC will catch up later & will be expensive. But If Sony creates these new methods. Delivers the power & value for money. PC will be losing customers & be playing catch up.

You know what..Phil Spencer needs to quit being so nice about these console wars. They are alive and well. You can sit there and try to PR spin and act like a good guy all you want, but your competition will break into your house, kick your dog, and steal your priceless antiques while you sit there with a pretty smile telling everyone how we're all just one big happy gaming family.

Take the gloves off Phil. No fee for online multiplayer, buy WB Games, moneyhat EA Sports like Sony did to Sega, $399 Xbox Series X. Come on Phil...they just walked into your house and took a steaming shit on your new carpet.

ARM is not necessarily for mobile processors only. The world fastest supercomputer has ARM CPUs. Why wouldn’t Sony want to use a processor that uses 1/2 the power for the same performance as an x86.

I hate to say it, but Apple already started an ARM race and that could shift the tides back to Nvidia wining new console generations. Nvidia already has big power consumption advantage eventhough they are on 14nm ( the thing that console need is low power) and they already develop strong ARM chips. AMD might suffer a little if they don't catch up with Nvidia. Intel on the other hand is...... I don't know... They're loosing CPUs and don't have functional GPUs.

Because it's a needless inconvenience for developers and wastes all their effort with BC.

Most of the people around here will tell you that I am very hardcore. serious and sometimes threatening in the way I speak to people.

I recall the first time I spoke to Gamernyc78 Gamernyc78 , he was terrified of me, being that I was such an alpha male and all. He told me had sleepless nights at the thought of just how manly I was compared to him

Bo_Hazem Bo_Hazem offered me his castle, his whole Harem of women and 40 camels just for the privilege of being able to talk to me.

So its very understanding why you thought I was being mean to you. I need to take more Soy pills at night just to control my hulk persona.

Peace
xxxx
This guy killed my Grandparents. He was there for years in a bowl. The note he left mentioned how he was sick of their definition of gaming being the use of Wii Bowling. He went straight piranha on them.

Later, he left another note. “The last game they played was Wii Fishing.”.. “This time, the fish caught them.”... “No hard feelings, .. we cool?”.

Yeah, we cool. They were getting to the me changing their diapers age anyway.

Next gen consoles are going back to the RISC architecture, more specifically ARM. x86 is wasteful for gaming.
No, consoles will continue with x86/64 cpus because they will want high end horsepower, backwards compatibility for to have a huge catalog in their services, engine compatibility, easy PC ports and affordable cost.

Hello PS gamers!

I have a question for you guys and just want to read the replies. Not here to change anyone's minds or anything.

Why do you guys not like DF?
For the most part they are biased expect for one or two of them.

Again there are reasons they get to fly out and get the scoop on the new Xbox hardware and reasons I would never divulge on this forum or in PMs.

I like DF a lot. Not the answer you were looking for I guess.

This might have been better off as it’s own thread. It’s not really part of this thread’s topic.

DF are great at their analysis. I like DF. They need to be consistent and do deep dive analysis every time on every game regardless of console to prevent the perception of bias.

I personally dont hate them, john for example is probably the best guy they have and the most neutral. As of late I have noticed most notably from alex seems to downplay stuff playstation do and cast doubt on what they are doing. It's like when we first got the SSD info and john brings up the SSD when all of them are partaking in alex was just like all it's really doing to do is loads times despite in the road to ps5 it being stated it can fundamentally change world design. DF in general is fine but alex it's quite clear cut he likes to scrutinise or downplay when it comes to playstation. He needs to wind his neck in abit and swallow his pride and be more neutral with what he says.

Kingthrash does a great video on why they're biased, it's not that anything they say in their videos for Sony games are false it's that they aren't as critical of Microsoft games and don't highlight the same issues with them.

Due to someone on here already trolling me, I've created a thread on it:

Sorry to have derailed..
Who is trolling you?

Might want to talk to an admin like Mod of War Mod of War if you think anyone is being disrespectful to you here.

Oh look the updated primitive shaders by AMD are still called primitive shaders it's like oh I dont know that's what AMD calls them. "MeSH ShADeRs ArENt On Ps5 sO it's not RdnA 2" well they are but they are called primitive shaders by AMD.
But PS5 doesn't have Velocity Architecture™, Smart Delivery™, Project Acoustics™, Project Mara™ and Project xCloud™.

And the Geometry Engine deals with primitive shaders which are equivalent to meshshaders according to AMD?

Just trying to understand this.

Primitive shaders are part of the geometry engine yes. Prior to this every one assumed the primitive shaders was the ones AMD introduced in 2017. When nvidia came out with mesh shaders a improvement over what AMD did everyone just assumed RDNA2 must have "mesh shaders" now aswell as the primitive shaders are older. Optimised Primitive shaders are AMD's mesh shaders. They are keeping the primitive name as that's what AMD calls them. Fanboys wont bother to pay attention to this though and just claim "No MeSH No RDnA2".

Nice so the PS5 has new primitive shader technology which is equivalent to Nvidias Mesh shaders.

What I'm wondering about the two systems is if the XSX has the geometry engine with primitive/mesh shaders.

I mean this is no confirmation that AMD new iteration of primitive shaders is in PS5 but considering it's most likely part of RDNA2 you can put 2 + 2 together and you can see where it's going. The geometry engine is a sony thing not a AMD thing as far a I know.

The iteration of the Geometry Engine found within the PS5 is the same one which will be used in the discrete RDNA 3 GPU's according to multiple leaks from RGT (RedGamingTech) and claims he is "95%" sure on.

It's actually a pretty neat feature/hardware so I am not surprised AMD would have adopted it in their future roadmap.

The problem is that no developer is taking advantage of Sony's controllers features. Even 1st parties don't take full advantage of them. I am not sure if Sony investment on dual sense is worth it.
Remember, most developers are still stuck with the medival technology of mouse and keyboard.
IMO there's a difference between a novelty thing like the touchpad, and finally making noteworthy improvements to a feature (haptics/vibration) that has been in controllers for a long time.

You should listen to the Godfall director talk about what they're doing with the Dualsense from back after the June PS5 event. It had Keighley's, and my, jaw on the floor. There's just no way developers will ignore that next gen. It genuinely improves the game experience. I think we're all in for a treat when we get our hands on one this fall.
