Beta can be 2v2 right now. It's really fun, the game lends itself well to some funny 2v2 tactics.

Beta is ffa and 2vs2 if you invite a friend. There ain't really videos of high level play.

It's downright repulsive seeing a large group of people spew such stupidity and ignorance due to the game being similar to smash brothers. It makes you look bad. It makes the nintendo fanbase look bad and it makes people want to stay away from such group.

People who tried the beta and were skeptical before are enjoying and thats good to see.
I think the presentation, graphics and sound have improved a lot and those following the game and playing the beta will agree.
Their have been people who didnt like the game but have written constructive impression why they didnt like it.
Im pretty sure those people who didnt know some of the characters ended up like them by playing this game.

Great post. I for one look at the Nintendo fanbase a little differently since this game's announcement. So many crybabies, lol. They need to play this game before making judgement. And preferably for more than half an hour.
Great post and it perfectly describes most of the people I run into that criticize allstars.
I was skeptical too, before I played the beta on tuesday. I thought it would run completely similar to smash, but I find it vcompletely different with the same aesthetics.
And I will be very honest here, the ps3 is my first playstation console since I picked it up in 2011. I prefer allstars gameplay over brawls. I guess I prefer being killed in the ring than being knocked out of a ring.
Definitely picking this up on launch.
Also, another thing. I am sure of everyone has heard the saying "never judge a book by its cover".
When someone starts making assumptions of a game before its release, the first thing I ask is "have you even played it"?
I wouldnt even bother looking at someone's opinion or taking it seriously if they haven't. And I believe that you shouldnt even have the right to reviewing or criticizing a game if you haven't tried it yourself.
Game went from "couldn't care less" to "day 1 purchase" after playing it for a couple days. Hopefully more people try it out when the beta goes public this week.

This was the earliest build.
This is one of the later builds. I'm not sure if it's the final.
Also, apparently anyone who legitimately doesn't like the game is obviously a Nintendo fan who believes Nintendo is the only one who can make a cross-over fighter.
A lot of people who don't like the game are probably biased, but seriously, a lot of defenders get offended when someone calls it a copy of Super Smash Bros.
You most certainly are overgeneralizing. When someone doesn't like the game, you automatically assume that person is a Nintendo fan.
the nintendo avatars and immediatly pointing out how smash brothers is superior do give me an hint.
But alas, I'll stop overgeneralizing.

Clearly I'm a Nintendo fan in this show owned by Bandai/Toei!
You know what, Doggie should be in Smash! After all Bamco is assisting in developing so I'll give them my monies to put him in, after all Nintendo already got SPD. This would be a nice "homage" by putting an SPD character.
Like I said though, I'm open to games like this (and this isn't the first "Smash copy"). I'm just being cautiously optimistic.

Actually for 2d it was back then. Art of Fighting and Karnov's Revenge were touted as clones before.

I'm scared to give any opinion of PSASBR because people will jump down your throat if you are pro or con in any way.

All FPS were "Doom clones" for the better part of the 90s.
This is normal. Once Super Smash Xbox All-Stars comes out we'll have enough games to call it a 'genre' and not a clone.

Fatal fury wasn't touted as one, and the main reason that people thought art of fighting was one was due to similar characters(ryu=ryo, guile=john) and there we're a fighters between fighters history and street fighter that didn't get that designation either

There are a few games that exist like it already. Hell, they have their own 2d and 3d variants as well
If plane hopping is enough to set as a differential, than all stars shouldn't be considered a clone either.

I guess the Jump DS games are the same.
But I just meant that the mainstream needs a few more of these games before the mainstream will stop calling this a clone.
And let's be honest.. There is some aspect of Sony copying Nintendo's formula here.. Beyond even game mechanics. People are gonna point it out. We can all have a laugh about it now. Later it won't matter if the game is good.

Of course. But those two that I mentioned were definitely touted as one, and iirc FF came out around the time after AoF (I could be wrong tho), so I guess the heat died down back then

Sure it takes aspects from the smash series, you won't see me deny that. But calling it a clone, and a shameless one at that makes me believe that people think it can't stand on its own because its "smash brothers with sony characters". How anyone who's played the game could come to that conclusion is beyond me, but there is a vocal minority that seem to think so.
The game is taking cues from SB and other fighting games most definitely and the Superbot are not denying that at all if you have watched some interviews with them. But they are not taking asets from SB and using them in the game. They are taking the base foundation of SB (4-player 2D crossover fighting game game with stage hazards and items ect.) and making their own spin on it. There are plenty of other good games that have done the same exact thing.
Haven't played the beta myself. Want my first experience to be the full game upon release. But I genuinely feel that as long as you are reasonable with your views on the game, and you justify them properly, people will be fine with any opinion someone might have regardless if they like it or not. It's the extreme posts either way with no explanation/reasoning that get jumped on.
90% of people come to our thread and say "it sucks because it does" without any explination or even saying if theyve played it.
If youve got reasons you dont like it, most of us are pretty cool with that. Its cool if you dont like it for legitamate reasons.

I'm not sure where all the hate for these hacks are coming from. They're just ways to put in some new character models in to Brawl, just for fun.
I'm excited that there's finally a good Kratos model hack. All the other ones I've seen look nothing like him.
