PlayStation Awards 2014, PlayStation's 20th Anniversary

Well if really every game that sold over 500k get's an award, this could take some time.

Well, unlike US award shows, they don't start playing loud music to make people stop talking. That's certainly better for the award winners.

These kind of things are business relationship development more than anything else.

The idea are often that you make your business partners feel valued.

Oh, trust me, I know what this is all for. (I'm an expert blahblah.) Doesn't change the fact that I find this side of Japan to be outrageously dull, and marvel at how they always seem to be trying to find ways to make such events MORE dull and over-indulgent.

so are they awarding these based on JPN numbers only? If that's the case then 500k for battlefield is impressive for a western game.

"This is Yoshimura's third nomination and first win. He likes to go cycling after work."

Is this what the lady from the off says roughly?

Apparently they're counting all of Asia for the awards now. Even if it is true, it is still pretty impressive. South Korea is the only other central Asian market for video games as far as I know.

There's a reason why Sony doesn't really hype up PS Awards, and this is why.

It's a very very Japanese event, and it's unapologetically a "real" awards event.

Not for consumers, not for media. They're showing this to us for fun or more exposure at best.
