"Healthy". Jesus fucking Christ.
Anyway. I'm so happy this is on again. I was sure it wasn't happening this year since they announced it a whole week earlier the past couple years I think. I almost made a post about it yesterday actually, hahaha.
I would literally watch every fucking conference of E3 in the theater if that were an option. Like Kyle Bosman, I just love watching conferences. The good, the bad, the heart-stoppingly cringeworthy; I love it all. You can be a self-righteous, pretentious buzzkill and bemoan it as a manipulative marketing attack but the simple fact is I love games. I love getting excited for games. I love talking about games. I love complaining about games. If you're a sports fan, you can go to a stadium and immerse yourself in the experience amongst the crowd. If you're just as equally enthusiastic about games, the only comparable mass social experience would be going to PAX or some other fan convention or being a member of the press and attending E3. What this event provides (as someone who has attended the previous two) is the closest possible equivalent. Being a part of a much greater group of individuals, experiencing something in the realm of their interests in tandem. It feels fucking great. Regardless of what you think of the actual content or the people around you--who are sometimes smelly, sometimes jerks, sometimes drunk, sometimes disruptive, sometimes openly fighting (hey Columbus year one, what up).
It's the only experience of it's kind and if you're someone who loves watching conferences, it's something that needs to be experienced.
