Wow, Kotaku and Joysticq review of the hardware are pretty glowing!

Issues with line-of-site and play distance aside, I can't help but declare PlayStation Move a resounding success as a piece of consumer technology and general way of interacting with games. Yes, it's the natural evolution of the Wii Remote, but it trumps Nintendo's creation in every respect, from its accuracy (even MotionPlus can't match it) to the quality of its vibration feedback.

I'm interested in move for shooters since I would like to play them more (and online more) but I never clicked with either dual analog or M&KB (dislike using a keyboard)

In theory it should work pretty well shouldn't it? Isn't move already in MAG - where are the impressions gaf! Is MAG the only shooter using it between now and socom? (I see dead space was mentioned above)
Move is in MAG right now via beta available to PSN users in the US. I really haven't checked the other regions but it's more than just for the Move being tested.

So do any of these games have sensitivity adjustments to reduce lag from movement stabilization? (i.e. controls are very responsive but picks up more hand jitters)

None of the games have it except some of those using the Move as a pointer. RUSE has it for example. As well as The Shoot and MAG. Flight Control HD doesn't have it (because it's perfect as it is really).

I did? Sorry I'm still a n00b at this. Will investigate! Is it in every video?

Edit - oh, I think I found out. "Pan" is set to -1 by default in the editing program (the fuck?). Will set it to 0 next time. Thanks a lot for that!

Just watched the Sports Champions Table Tennis video, excellent work. I really do think that so far you've provided the best coverage, showing off the accuracy of the device and answering all the questions prospective buyers might be asking.

Also, it was good to see someone who's actually good at table tennis play the game, it looks incredible.

I have the Sports Champions bundle pre-ordered, but I'm not sure if I need to pick up another Move controller as well. Some of the Sports Champions activities look fine without it, but archery in particular looks like it would be awkward with only one.

Any thoughts?

Slowly tinkering with the OP. Added your link TTP :)

And also your post is added to the OP too shagg_187 :)

Did the EDGE review of RUSE include Move gameplay or was it just the game itself?

I'd guess they should have been able to review it including the Move scheme, since they've had the controller for quite a while now.

In the case of RUSE I think it was more a question of whether the game is good than whether the Move implementation would be though...I'm pretty confident based on the impressions of it and the producer's comments about it that the Move implementation is very good.

Meow! ;D There's also Engadget, IGN and Destructoid reviews somewhere in the first page so add that too if you like. Let me know if you need a well organized first post so I can start making it user-friendly and one destination to rule them all.

Catching up with the reviews and it looks like most of the original games for Move kind of suck. I'll probably get Sports Champion just for a tech demo but I'll past on the rest, I'm more interested in using it with games like LBP and KZ3 anyways.

It's no surprise that everyone loves the Move wand, though, the thing is gonna be killer. I love me some motion control.

I'm not really interested in any of the games for Move so far...yet I want one, and I dunno why!

It would be Day 1 for me...if I had the money, but I'll be an early adopter of the Move for sure.

Are these reviews playing the games with the minimum amount of equipment? I don't want reviews of games where they are using two wands if it's not required. I want to know what the real experience is going to be (I'm not buying two wands). Every time you see a preview they are using two wands for a one wand game and I hope reviews either don't do that.

You should check out Kotaku's sports champions video. They show some of the differences between two and one wands in a couple of the games.

I dunno which of the other games in this review batch have this two-wands/one-wand thing going on...think it might just be SC.

Eye of the beholder I suppose. I find it more redeeming than that but I definitely do see both sides of the fence. Wii is the same for me. With this we get it with more accuracy and HD graphics and a competent online structure. The peripheral itself works like a camera and mic too. Many pluses to the setup versus something like a sensor bar which just does 1 thing. All this goes without saying though :)

No, I wasn't comparing the Move to the Wii, I was comparing Start the Party to Just Dance.

You have a valid point. I've been a little busy multitasking so forgive my mistake.

Hmmm:

"One controller is kind of fun... two controllers is a ton of fun"

I think I'm going to stick with games that are one wand only as it seems the ones that were built around 2 but work with one aren't going to give the same experience and again... I hope reviewers are basing their scores on the one wand experience since that is what the vast majority of people are going to have.

Any good reviewer will base their score on the experience they had with the game.

Hey TTP, I was wondering how does the Move perform in low-light situations?

I've got a home theater setup and normally I have ambient light coming from behind my tv so generally I play in 75% darkness.

Any reviews for how RE5:GE controls w/ Move?

I think that the patch its not out yet. There have been some previews in wich they claim that the controls are great, but you dont shoot with the trigger. It was with a face button instead (circle I believe)

Yeah, checking out the link that Man linked showed the gameplay with the Move to pretty damn cool looking.

This is my only problem with the controller. Ugh, what was Sony thinking? I guess they didn't want people to accidentally hit the buttons while pressing the move button. Oh well... :/
Sony was thinking that they want the controller to work well for kids. The proposed layout would be much worse for a small hand.

The big surface of the action button is also more convenient for long gaming sessions as you use the thumb to get a good grip of the controller. A small button with buttons above and below would force you to hold the thumb in an awkward posítion while waving the controller.

Not really surprised to see this coming from arstechnica, they are not really known to be the smartest kids on the block.

RE: Gold Edition here I come! Loved RE4 for the Wii, and I'm glad I haven't played RE5 yet. I think survivor horror games benefit from this type of control. Dead Space 2 better support it as well.

Wow, I keep clicking Move threads. Guess I'm excited. Just cancelled my Start the Party pre-order based on a comment in this(?) thread. I'm so fickle.

I have a Move and Sub pre-ordered. Does that cover me? Or would I need 2 Moves in some instances? I really don't pay attention but spend my hard earned cash very easily.

Well there is RE5 that gets close, but it's not an FPS per se. Heroes on the Move have some kind of FPS gameplay too with Clank, it's third person, but the Move pointer acts has a mouse or a second stick.

Since nothing requires the Sub and a few things can use a second Move (including multiplayer), why not switch those around. Nothing I've seen yet (and I am paying attention) requires 2 Moves.

My order is currently 2x Move + Eye + Start The Party + High Velocity Bowling on launch day.
I'd only play 2 games in Sports Champions (ping-pong & gladiator battle), so I'll wait to pick it up used/later.

all i need to know is if I am playing Timce crisis will I be aiming at the screen itself (YAY!) or some sensor bar like the wii?(BOO)

The camera tracks your movements based on where you are. You can aim at the screen.

Good point. But I'll prob keep the Sub (cos no doubt I'll need it later) but I'll get a 2nd Move. After all whilst it can be played alone I'd expect to roll it out when I have company.

Misdirection when I made that comment about "needing" two Moves. I guess I meant where they were supported.

Cheers.

I'd like to try High Velocity Bowling.

What turned me off the original was that I had to hold the trigger buttons on the SIXAXIS to put spin on the ball.

Now with Move I expect them to make it so I can just change the arc of my swing to control the ball rotation.

If they're doing it right you should be able to aim wherever you tell it the screen is, so as long as you get that part right it should work!

So, looks like Kung Fu Rider is a turd. That's unfortunate.

The GameTrailers review basically says:
- Looks ugly
- Incredibly low in content
- Controls don't work
:/

Erm, that's not how the Wii works.

I am not exactly suprised. I thought it looked like garbage in all the videos beforehand. I was really suprised when I learned this was a retail game and not just a small downloadable title.
