Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Fuck you Amazon. I decided at the last minute to get this almost entirely on it coming same day and now it says 18th. I'm a very sad panda.

If you must have it today....

Buy whatever you bought at Amazon from Gamestop/Target/Best Buy/whatever...

Then return whatever you get in the mail from Amazon tomorrow back to Gamestop/Target/Best Buy/whatever...

Just picked mine up from the Gamestop across from work on my lunch break. I had the bundle pre-ordered but bought their last $50 Move controller. They'd only been open for 2 hours when I went in there.

Now the long 3 hour wait until end of work.

@ThatGameCompany just responded to my question about when to expect the Flower patch:

"I think somewhere Flower was on a list for Move, though we were never asked to confirm. No plans for it right now."
Ah nuts. :(

Don't have enough money in the bank right now to do that.

Even if I could would they scan the barcode and know it's not the one they sold me? Would they even care if it was?

I just got it. first disappointment: the battery is completely empty. i expected it to be at least a little preloaded.

i also dont really like the ergonomy. cant wait to test it in what, 4 hours?

Cack-handed is the only option? Jesus. :lol
Bah typo on my part. D:

You can only play right handed in the demo, and you have to buy the full version if you want the option to go left handed.

No, UPCs don't work like that, they are not specific to each individual item on the packaging. They only identify what the product is.

Do electronics actually come pre-charged sometimes? Wouldn't that bad for the battery?

But yeah, a full charge takes like 4 hours...

Man it feels good to save money! Just got $55 in coupons to k mart....basically a free game. Went to gstop afterwords to cancel my pre order and told them about the deal. Of course the guy is like yeah but what are you gonna buy at kmart. Obviously another game lol.

Barcode is the same, but anyway, just be patient and wait until tomorrow to get it. I've always gamed by the steadfast rule that if you want something on release day, then you need to purchase it somewhere that you can walk in and come back out with it. Otherwise, you're putting your trust in two separate companies (retailer and parcel service) to get it to you on time.

Yeah I've been burned before, but I was for some reason really excited about this. I'm a sap for new tech.

Actually sometimes electronics come with what I call splurge charge, which lets you fiddle with it for a bit before needing to charge.

But yeah, what the hell am I going to do for four hours while it's charging?

Did you have separate transactions? Or did they print out all of your coupons from just one transaction?

Make a sandwich, or 50.

:lol Oh typical Gamestop. What couldn't you buy at Kmart. It's a big department store they have tons of variety.

Damn that was fast. Did you by any chance see a demo station for Move there?

Almost everything comes with batteries with some level of charge for storage. You could play with it for a while and then charge it, I don't see a problem with doing that.

I was just about to ask this question..

So you DO have to charge it out the box?

I have both the Nav and Move controller charging right now.

i thought that was the standard. all phones i ever had came precharged with maybe 1/3 of the capacity. cant think of many other electronics right now, that needed immediate use.
but maybe its a different thing for integrated battery?

I thought the same. I plugged mine into my PS3 with the USB to register it and it was already charged.

Mine wasn´t fully charged but I got to play out of the box for about 2 hours... =)

Heavy Rain was a bit disappointing, the movements required to do the actions in game felt unnatural and overall there's no benefit over the DS3 controller.

How? the HR patch isn't even out yet.

I can confirm that 2 of the 6 stores in my town do NOT have a Move demo on display. I've yet to see a Move demo on display anywhere I shop, actually. Believe me, I look. :D

Got back from Gamestop with my Move x2 and Sport Champions.

Was going to go with just one controller, but archery is calling my name. Now just have to wait for my partner to get the fuck off the TV so I can Move.

It seems that darker and closer is what it likes. I sit about 10ft away and if I'm sitting down, start the party sometimes complains that I need to move closer. So probably around 8-9ft would be the max range. Thats not ideal for me as I have to move furniture around, and means I can't easily play while sitting for games like RE5/RUSE etc. Although a guy in GAME was demoing it this lunchtime and I'm sure he was further away than I was with no issues in Sports Champions.
I think it's game-specific, because in StP you'd want to be able to easily reach everywhere in the camera's field of view, so after a certain distance away you're playing on a virtual 15-foot canvas, whereas if you're 4 feet away the canvas is within arms reach.

But it just occured to me- try playing with PS Eye lens clicked over to the tight angle mode.

So it's selling well?? (or they didn't get a lot in...)

Just checked my email at Yahoo and noticed Playstation Move is #4 on the top searches today. (actually that might have been yesterday's trend list- I keep my Yahoo inbox tab open 24/7 and don't refresh it but once a day or so). I'm not at all worried about Move getting enough support in the long run, but it would be cool if mass adoption happened sooner.

Major lurker here so excuse the stranger... I felt compelled enough to post and say my initial impression of the Move is that it's really incredible feeling.

I have only played around with Tumble a bit (waiting on Amazon to deliver 2nd Move and Sports Champions).

The level of detail while manipulating the on-screen Move controller is awesome. This is what the Wii should have been (and certainly still isn't) from the start.

A question: I picked up Eyepet put plan to level it unopened until I hear further input. Does this have much depth to it or is it a fairly small number of mini-games and that's about it (aside from dressing the guy up in different outfits which doesn't overly excite me...).

I played Sports Champs and The Shoot so far. The Shoot is a lot better than I expected, probably going to buy the full version along with the gun controller thing. I couldn't get the "turn on the spot" thing to work though.

Sports Champions I played table tennis, which is fucking great. I play the Wii version with my daughters and this is much better and more accurate. I only played a few games, but it's great. Archery is really good too, though I played after I did the entire bronze rank of gladiators and my arms were tired :lol Gladiators is way more fun than I thought it would be, and I was looking most forward to that one. I'm playing with 2 moves, so the shield play is probably a bit better than with just one. I think there is enough with just the Move/SC bundle to justify the $99, my son is gonna love it and my wife will most likely play a bit too, which is great because she doesn't game at all.

I'm off to try RE5 now, been looking forward to it since they announced the patch, hope it doesn't disappoint.

I was at the store in Canada this morning for 5 minutes to get my bundle, during that time, some guy was with a salesperson and got the bundle + second controller + navi etc..., another guy picked up the bundle and darted off, and while I was paying, some guy was waiting behind me with the PS3+move bundle.

I know it's launch day and all, but that to me seems to be selling pretty well.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but it's something I realized and thought I would share... though it should be fairly obvious

Regarding using a DS3 over Nav, since the Nav doesn't have rumble, if you have an old SIXAXIS still around (i have 2) I'd recommend using that due to how feather-light they are.

My yes it is was in reference to the 'is it actually different' bit. Its actually very good.

Ah, gotcha ... I should phrase my questions better.

Either way, can't wait to play it! I DL'd all the demos I could yesterday and picking it up in a bit after an interview. Is it sad that I'm more excited about Move than a job? Although that's just because the job market sucks here in Portland so after a year of interviews ... you start not expecting much. But Move on the other hand! My expectations are high!

Lots of things to do. There is pet care (washing, feeding, exercise etc), games like bowling, trampolining, teaching the pet to draw, teaching the pet to sing, fly on planes etc. The content is spread out over 'challenge days'. The trophies aren't too hard, but there is a good amount of depth there for a casual gamer. Its easy to navigate and surprisingly fun.

I have 1 hour to order Move and have it delivered tomorrow. I bought Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, considering Flight Control HD, and like the sounds of Tumble. But besides from that for the time being, I see it going unused. What say you GAF? To buy, or not to buy?

!!!!! gladitor is epic jesus it was tracking my bending down , all hits went smoothly, jumping and getting up off the ground is where gesture take over

Just to be sure... Do you know you have to hold the Trigger to move around the XMB?

Yeah you can see me going left and right ok in the vid (i don't let go of the trigger at all), if i let go of the trigger it stays at the bottom of the list but if i hold it in it pops right back to the top.
