Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Played some heavy rain move demo and I only played through it once more or less forgotten lots of what was here. The setup on this one was a bit funnier - the calibrartion screen was closer and even had a picture of you on a couch... but I couldn't be bother adjusting the camera so I left it where it was ---- which meant that for some of the movements, my hand/move controller were literrally touching the floor. :lol :lol

that said it controls really well. I wasn't sure about some of the icon references as I didn't do the tutorials but it was all easy to use. Might be even easier than using a DUALshock3. The combat vs the punk with shelby was really intense. The movewand kept vibration and I was surprised that I got hooked in that quickly.

can't wait for patch to come out so I can replay HR. As is the game is totally playable using a DS3 as side controller as its slow paced.

I love the move, I love it love it love it... Please God let them make good software for this because it handles great, augmented reality games are fun for the whole family, my 2 1/2 year old loves it! Sony really has a winner here if they match some of the marketing that the other guys will have this holiday and put this thing on display (kiosks etc.) they will see some results. :D

R.U.S.E. is an absolute dream come true with the move wand.

My best friend came over and man, Tumble's multiplayer is really fun, as if the disc golf in Sports Champions. The ping pong doesn't feel right to me at all, but that is because I've got a table in the next room. So far disc golf is my favorite, followed closely by bocce ball, archery and the gladiator game.

Once you get upto mid silver trophy stages in gladiator duel AI will start hopping over your sword swings. Makes for very intense battle

Damn. I never got to try HR with it. I will for sure try that in the next couple days and see how that works.

Don't know if it's been posted yet but the Move logo is similar to the Sports Champions calibration movements.

Gladiator Duel rules so hard, I can't even begin to describe. As a joke, I gestured to stab my opponent on the ground... AND MY CHARACTER DID IT! I laughed so hard.

Thanks Sony.

He was asking you to stop, I think, but then again he's the "moist as dudes" guy so who knows.
...ah. *Shrugs* must have pissed someone off in a different thread about something. I never usually check back on a thread fast enough to know if something I said pissed someone off until tonight because I saw the response about HR it brought me back.

I am still feeling bad for missing out on HR and testing it with Move. I hadn't even thought of testing the older games I already beat. Someday I may replay that and Move might make it interesting.

Played for about three hours tonight. I got hooked on table tennis. The 1:1 controls are killer. I have experienced no lag or calibration issues. Damn this is awesome tech.

The only thing that worries me is that my dog chews on everything. So I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to keep it out of his reach. The Move is just begging to be chewed on, by dogs, with its seductive, squishy sphere.

Just stopped playing with my Move set because the low battery notice. It's been a blast.
I installed a few of the demos.
EyePet - adorable, might pick it up for my kids. My daughter (4) played through the demo twice. I never could get him to recognize me wiggling my fingers to make him pounce though (?)

Time Crisis - Definitely picking this up.

TV Super Stars - At least my daughter had a good time?

Then I popped in the Sports Champions disc. I played at least 2 rounds of each game before moving on to the next.
Archery - This is fun but felt too easy? I got the trophy for splitting 3 in a row on my first 5 arrows. It seemed very fun though, I had a great time and look forward to the more challenging levels.

Disc Golf - Had little to no interest in this... am now hooked. It's so damn precise! Plus the courses were fun, and I just had a great time playing this.

Volleyball - The matches felt slow, might be better in multiplayer? I got bored pretty quickly.

Bocce - Never heard of it before, but it's pretty damn fun. Wouldn't mind playing this in real life either, but anyway, felt very precise, and was a blast.

Table Tennis - Felt really precise and really off at the same time. Would be adjusting my paddle before a hit, and it would count as a hit. Yet at the same time, if I put any spin on it, or any speed, it worked great. Just quirky hit detection I guess. Left me a bit annoyed after a few matches, but it may just take some getting used to.

Gladiator Duel - OMFG. I thought WSR's dueling game was fun but this blows it away. I would pay the price of admission for this alone. So fun. Felt great to do and, really, just an awesome game.

Overall - I felt like I was playing Wii for the first time again. The precision is way better than Motion Plus. The controller feels great in my hand. Love the rubber ball. I only went with the vanilla package to start with, and I look forward to picking up another Move and a Navigation controller soon. With some great software (which looks like we have now, and in the pipeline) this will be an amazing hit for Sony. Wii HD has arrived.

I think he was upset because you weren't bursting with joy over the Move. But whatever, you didn't do anything wrong.

Many would disagree, but I thought Heavy Rain was a swell game. I don't think you'll be more prone to like it or dislike it based on the controls, but the gameplay revolves around gestures and QTE's and it seems like a much more natural fit for the Move than the Dualshock analog stick.s

Although I only got to spend a total of about 4 hours with Move today due to my poor decision to not charge the controller initially, have it run out, and then take 4 hours to charge...:lol

I really enjoyed Sports Champions. Didn't have time to try Gladiator or Volley ball, but will certainly tomorrow. Bocce and Disc golf are my favorites though. Table tennis was really cool too, but hard. I was extremely happy to find that I can play this game at close range (3-4ft from TV) AND while sitting. Brilliant. Although, it certainly works better to stand in some games such as Bocce. "Tricking" the calibration into thinking I was standing and what-not was a bit tough a few times.

After my controller charged up, I decided to quick try echochrome ii and Tumble. Eii is an interesting idea. I will certainly buy it, and it worked great.

Tumble (full version) was very impressive. The accuracy is just awesome, and it's so fun. I just played the tutorial and level 2, and I was so excited. Can't wait to play it more tomorrow.

I simply cannot get some games to work. The Shoot never calibrates correctly (the cursor is seriously out of whack), Tumble won't read the controller even when its pointing an inch away from the camera, and Eye Pet won't respond to "wiggle your fingers". Sports Champion continues to work well, so I don't know if it's common bugs or not.

And once you calibrate yourself with the camera, can you change positions (such as standing/sitting or standing left/right)?

I love how Best Buy was "sold out" by 2:00 today as the guy told me they held most of their shipment back until Sunday for the new ad. Apparently $49.99 on a Sunday is better than $49.99 on a Friday. :lol

I guess they want to get some impulse buys out of it along with some of their sales such as RE5 Gold for 30 bucks. I was pissed and ended up driving to the other side of town to another Best Buy where they had 3 bundles left and I got the second to last single Move controller.

Then I got Sports Champions thanks to you guys. It still annoys me I paid 90 bucks while I could have bought the bundle for 10 bucks more. The guy at GameStop told me I could trade in my old PS Eye and get 10 bucks and then buy the bundle. Too bad that's the same damn thing. :lol

When does Kung Fu Live hit? It's not a Move title, but it's coming around this time as well.

I live in the US and have a retail copy.

Just opened Free Roam Mode on one of the stages. Time for some medal hunting!

Edit:

Whoops! I read Kung Fu Rider instead of Kung Fu Live.

You may want to move back a little. I had some trouble with Tumble initially. After I stepped back a little (about 3 feet away), it's much better. My office PS3 is set on a desk like a PC.

Based on the UK store demos, Start the Party would be a better pick than Sports Champions for the $99 bundle. Presentation is approaching Media Molecule levels. I actually laughed at the sarcastic announcer's comments.

Table Tennis is pretty impressive, but Sports Champions seems sterile and generic.

I tried to check out the MAG 2.0 beta with Move, but the download data wasn't working for me.

Hi?

I was wondering if you could use the MOVE navigation controller for non-MOVE games.

I ask because I used to have a one-handed PS1 controller by ASCII that was great for playing RPGs. Seeing the navigation controller made me wonder if it could used in a similar way.

Thanks GAF!

PS sorry if this has been answered already

Eh... probably not. It's literally only half a controller, unlike those old one-handers that still featured all of the necessary buttons.

So I opened my new Move controller and plugged it in to start charging about two hours and forty minutes ago.

It's still not done charging. Wth. =/

That can't be normal, can it?

I feel like I owe it to the devs...just because their first games are so damn great. And this bit about Move and how it works with HR makes me far more interested in trying it out thanks.

Ya I don't...burst with joy much:) Especially when there is no need.
It takes something amazing and new for me to get too up in arms about something.

Yes, it can take up to 4 hours.

Is there anyway to get perfect calibration? It's always off a bit for me or maybe im just being picky :lol :lol Still SC is just too fuking good. Played Gladiator 4 hour straight now my whole body's sore... :lol

Yeah I played a lot of gladiator, but I probably shot over 1000 arrows today in archery, my back is so fucked up atm.

yeah gladiator is mad fun. can't say it enough. Wait til you get to the higher difficult levels. Than you'll really feel like a gladiator. Once you get up to mid tier silver, you'll need to block, parry, side jump, back move....etc. The AI gets really vicious and it becomes even better.

And you'll sweat. Oh yeah, you'll be sweating and cussing.

:)

Goddamn. Guess I'll just plug it in whenever I'm not using it like my headset. :lol

That's what I'd like to know. Was the 4hrs just a first time charge thing or is it every time?

:/

dragonflys545 said:
You don't have to charge it fully to enjoy it...

Even when it's off you can still get some ball squeezing action in.

Exactly :lol :lol I love squeezing it while my matches are loading:lol

FUCK YOU TUMBLE!

I put the 24th and last block in all gently, turns out its some rubbery material that bounced all over the place and wrecked my beautiful tower which took me 40 minutes to painstakingly create ;_;

Where Table Tennis is concerned, I think this is a recurring problem. If you want to see the game with its "cheats" turned off, wait until you get to Gold! You don't have to finish the other cups, either, just go to Free play and challenge the AI on that level.

Amongst other things, no matter how you hit the ball in Bronze, the game tries to keep the ball on the table. Not so in Gold, you hit a ball wild, it's going wild. I served the same way I did in Bronze and the damn ping pong just went flying off the screen.

FRY'S was completely sold out of Move controllers, they had bundles, and a bunch of Navs but I already got a camera :( Will try Best Buy tomorrow.

Once you move on to the second cup it takes away that annoying auto-adjust crap. :D

I found that if the move controller is not being recognised or refuses to calibrate just quit the game and restart. This worked every time with me. I wonder why it happens though. It happened with tiger woods, tumble and heavy rain.

I like that the planet minigolf demo even though listed under ps move section does not support move in the demo.

Congrats to the devs!

By the way what is tumbles mp like? Do you get to place a block taking turns?

When I played the demo both my controllers were turned on so they both showed up in the arena. I would imagine two people can both just build at the same time.
