Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Rightly so, the game is garbage and I'm surprised it got a disc release at $40.

I played it at a sony event during the summer and my disgusted face while playing was met with a statement from a rep that the game was still being tweaked and would work better at release.

Tried it out again this Tuesday at a Playstation HQ spot and it plays the exact same way. Its existence boggles my mind, especially now that an amazing game like Demon's Souls can be had at $10 cheaper retail price.
 
I'm about 10 pages here so forigven is that has been asked and answered....but...

is there any consensus on the appropriate height/level the Eye camera should be or has to be?

Can I leave it at approximately waste level and avoid getting the mounting clip for my TV, or should I get the mounting clip?

What i learn from my experience with Move is simple, the most important thing is how distant you are from the camera. I have to rearrange my living room for that. Now everything works like magic.

Below or over you tv set is not important, put the camera with the tv's logo behind, usually this is the perfect place :)

Enough games are getting Move patches (Heavy Rain, MAG, etc) that the Nav makes sense to bundle for people like myself who already own the Eye. I genuinely think Sony would sell more Move units if they also offered the bundle I created. There are plenty of early adopters of the Eye who refuse to buy the Sports Champions combo because we don't need a second camera.

I think you'll find that ownership of the camera is less pervasive than you'd think. The bundle that SONY has made, all contained a wand/camera because that's the BASE minimum you need to get the thing working.
 
I think another bundle may have been too confusing for parents out to buy a "Playstation Move". An example of having a similar product with different functionality - all the kids who sold their newly purchased PSP GOs back to gamestop once finding UMDs don't fit inside of it.

It doesn't even make sense to pack in Sports Champions with a Navi Controller.
 
I really need to play the full Sports Champions. I loved Table Tennis during the demo and Gladiator Duel looks awesome.

I for one hated The Shoot demo, it had no feedback during shooting, framerate looked bad and it's no fun shooting at cardboards. Although I really liked how fluid the cursor was so I still have expectations for Time Crisis.

Flight Control HD is amazing, the meta average doesn't surprises me at all. The cursor is so fluid and if it had lag I sure as hell didn't noticed it. Gameplay is simple and addicting and the leaderboards add to it, I just don't like that you can only see the scores of people who share your rank.
I had the nº4 score on the first map until TTP took it from me : (

Plus, Flight Control has 3D and custom soundtracks on top of Move support! All for 5€! Great value there. Buy this game GAF!
 
My TV is above a mantle. I have the wii sensor bar stuck to the underside of the mantle and it works fine because it's basically two lights the wii remote reads.

Will I be able to mount the camera to the underside as well? What this means is the camera will be upside down. Is there any settings to flip the image the camera reads so everyone doesn't look upside down and the camera will act as if it is right-side up?

I had a horrible time with Move below my TV with all kinds of jerky movement and miscalibrations, but it's like a world of difference now that I put it above my TV. The cord for the damn camera is way too short though. I'm gonna have to go look for a USB extension cable or something.

Just bought it, started playing. It's very 'pleasant' to play, and definitely if you're one of those people who likes to one-up their own high score or a friends, it's great.

Plus, I think this game will be watched closely by other developers. So if you want more 'touch'-based games and Move versions of games like this: BUY THIS GAME.

Bought Flight Control HD. Now THIS is a game where the Move just makes the game a lot better. I can't wait for more games with Move Support :D

I was playing co-op last night and it took us 15 minutes to get our tower perfect...then he accidentally grabs the middle block and... ;_;

Ok, I'm totally going to bite and buy Flight Controller HD on the euro store.

No upside down camera. I think they addressed that already in an FAQ.

But they said you can mount it as high as shoulder/eye level and point it a little downward. I think they said the ideal mount height is between waist and eye level.

And if your mantle is higher than eye level, then your fireplace must be giant. I would put it right side up on the mantle and you should be fine.

But the navi controller isn't needed at all since you can use your PS3 controller instead. I bought it (couldn't say no to 20% off) but I didn't need to.
 
Do we have any idea about early Move sales?
When I picked up my Move on Wednesday (EU launch) there were only two left in the store (Gamestop) when I walked in that evening. They were sold out of Sport Champions. I had to go to another store and I bought the last copy they had of SC. The last couple of days the online SC leaderboards have been down from time to time.
 
I'm having so much fun with bocce and table tennis, that I haven't touched anything else yet. I am actually very surprised at how well Move works.

Okay, fine. How about this? I realize that SC is effectively free at this price point, but it's a good way for Sony to achieve widespread adoption.

Yea, the system just WORKS, that's what I love.

And as a side note: I hope I am not the only one to loves to navigate the XMB and PSN store with the Move controller. :lol

The Sports Champions bundles and the stand alone controllers seems to be sold out near my place. The rest of the bundles are not so popular. I think people recognise that Sports Champion is the killer app and is willing to wait for new stocks.

Still, I hope the platform has legs. The Move really makes a great playing experience when the games are in the hands of capable developers.

You know, that's the thing. I hae a lowboard for my tv, so it's on eyesight if I'm sitting/lieing on my couch. If I stand up, I'm looking down on my tv, so I don't like standing up, it sucks. I don't know which is the best position for the eye in this case...
 
I've only played the demo for a little while, but ruse plays real well with the wand. I'm kinda hoping for a new civ on consoles. Also, i wish fifa11 had an option to use it (kinda like pes wii).

HVB. I was going to buy it. Then I saw the ridiculous amounds of DLC (39 seperate files available) and I thought. Nah... going to save my money for a proper game if they're going to be so nickledimey with their product. I know I can buy the base game for $11(USD) ish. But ... yeah

Played some more Flightcontrol HD. Why is this at 80 meta when SC is at 75? Its good but its hardly on the same level. I'd say this was 75 and SC is at 80-90

yeah im in the same boat i have a small glass tv stand and if i stand up im looking down on my tv, if i sit the tv is in perfect eye sight and i have no idea where the best position is for the camera, that and i don't have a mount thing for the camera because awesome sony refused to give you anything to mount it with /shrug

No, it's called making yourself look like an ass for the whole world to see. We've had this argument before, I could majorly fuck up and claim I'm doing it for the "entertainment" too. I don't think this guy is though, I just think he's retarded.
 
I am very surprised that no noteworthy games have been announced at this years TGS for the Move when loads of games were announced for Kinect. You would think Japanese devs would be all over this Move.

Just noticed that amazon.co.uk just run out of Move controllers, just as a number of other shops, there are still bundles though.

Not when they can just port over Wii games and on top of that all the Japanese devs are pandering to MS to try to break the US market and escape the dying JP market.

I said this earlier, but my local Gamestop was sold out of the original 40 individual Move controllers yesterday. I had one preodered, but I wanted a second and I could not get one.

Like they are going to achieve mass market appeal in the Western Markets with Steel Battalion and the Panzer Dragoon-esque game.

Time crisis demo sucked a lot of ass sadly. It looked like a ps2 game and the riot shield just is not much as using cover. It just felt very flat.
