Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Asking again. Can you have two controllers for Start the Party. Have two people playing and don't want to swap between the same controller all the time...

Thanks

A couple of Targets I went into yesterday and Saturday had one or two bundles, the TRU we bought our set and extra move from had only one bundle and the Sony store we went to to test it Saturday before buying only had one.

It seems to depend on area, because some people claim to see them all over, others don't see them at all.

thanks! I have a gamestop and a target on the way home. And a kmart...but Im not sure if I want to set foor in there. :lol

Hows the availability of the move? Can I walk into a target or something and just pick one up? Just looking for any info, thanks.

You should definitely be able to find it somewhere, but it is possible you could run into a sold-out or two. Generic answer, but I'm sure any other will be appended with a YMMV.

Am I mistaken in the belief that Sony announced either a new Move-compatible Hot Shots Golf game or that they were patching HSG5? I swore I saw posts in the TGS thread that claimed one of these things.

Yea they showed a new one with 3d and move support at tgs.

OK, so I'm going to break down and buy the Playstation Eye clip so I can attach it to my TV, maybe.

My TV stand is quite high, probably at least 3 feet (I have very young children, so it's by design). And on top of that I have my Sony SXRD 50' unit which adds another 3 feet+ or so. Together, it's got to be at least 6' 2 inches, substantially higher than I am or anyone else in the house (wife, kids).

The problem with putting it at the bottom of the unit is that the base of my TV is solid, so the cable has to run in front of the TV, and I don't have much space in the front to have the cable not be kinked, which is making the PSeye not be looking straight forward.

So, is it a major no-no to have the PSEye on top of the TV that hight and aimed downwards in the center of the unit?

What's the best approach?

Okay good. I'm not crazy then. There's nothing on Google or yahoo about it, so I was beginning to doubt what I had heard.

Well I thought the HSG that they showed was a tech demo rather than an official announcement. Because from the blogs I was following that were live-blogging the event, they said it was not an official announcement of a HSG Move game

Great news everyone...

MAG now plays AWESOME with the Move!
The 1.04 OPEN BETA patch released Friday or so I believe.

I will never go back to dual stick shooters after this.

Lag is *not* there. MAG has the greatest, most precise pointer aiming now of ANY Move game. Better than Flight HD, the shoot, SC menu and any other. MAG pointer == laser pointer.

My settings are:
Type: Custom
Pointer speed: 50
Hip-shooting bounding box: 100 Tight Horizontally (the beta has a bug in that the bigger you make the bounding box, the tighter it actually is).
75 Tight Vertically

MAG Beta patch 1.04 Move controls:

+ Pointer is super precise and lag free. It's *perfect*. I have played Conduit and Metroid Prime super tuned and MAG is the absolute finest now. Put your TV on Game Mode!
+ They now have Free-look Ironsights (like KZ3 and Conduit). This means that the ironsight strafes around the screen precisely where you aim.
- They have yet to add Free-look Ironsights in Custom settings (the only settings where you can adjust bounding box settings)
- We can't keymap yet. For Move controls I would like to have aiming on the R2 and reload on O.

I'm nailing heads at awesome distances now, I take down enemies who instantly appear at the edge of my screen... it's so smooth and great. Sorry for the excitement. It's about 8-10x better than last Wednesday/Thursday (1.03).

You know what this means? We need a new TTP video STAT!

I might give it a rental to see how it plays.

That is the 1.04 Open Beta patch btw. Not an ordinary patch (will of course be a part of 2.00).

And just like that MAG is the greatest PS3 shooter for me.

The PSEYE on the wide angle (blue) setting can pick up a lot of the area and it tilts quite well so there should be no problem having it at that height and angle. If you get any issues then I'm afraid you should have it at the bottom of the TV (though the cables shouldn't be a problem with the 1.5m play area).

Also welcome back sonycowboy. :)

I will rent this game to check it out when patch 2.0 is out. There will be a pretty big userbase bump when that patch comes out thanks to all the move owners getting it to test out the move it seems. :lol

Come to think of it, my set-up is probably higher than most's, with my PSEye slightly higher than my own eye level.

But yeah, it points down at my couch for RE5 and Tumble, but I move it up just a little for SC. Either way though, it works.

Sounds Good, TTP stated as much on his twitter for iwaggle3d, and he also said that with them fixing the iron sight on regular weapons, they broke the sniper weapon on fixed targets. I just hope he lets Zipper know before 2.0

How does the MAG beta work? I downloaded it, sat through some installation, then got some error message.

Also I thought MAG was out already?

Tried looking for a move + sports champions bundle today... All I found was 5 navigation controllers and 6 PS3 bundles. Sold out everywhere.

It's not a Beta for the full game, but rather for additions to the game...

Hence, you need the full game to use that Beta "App"... lol, I downloaded it too without owning the full game. Definitely considering buying it now though.

you download the beta off PSN Store but you still need to own the disc.

Everyone who owns it can download Mag Beta from the PS Store.

Basically patch 2.00 (releasing October) is redoing the whole game.

The Stat system is totally different (think sphere board / Dead Space), how everything unlocks is different, all three sides can fight each other simultaneously. Just a heaps of changes.

I haven't played much since February so this might have released between now and then but framerate is much better as well.

You either have the worlds tallest couch or are a giant.

The vertical centerpoint of an SXRD is supposed to be at eye-level. There's a reason why the official stand was around 18" for the 60" models.

You don't need to!

TTP noted this as well in his pointer tech demo, MAG is one of the few pointer games where you don't have to (RE5 being the other I believe).
I just played a 90min session with super precise controls uninterupted.

I played some MAG move as well. It's definitely way better than it was before. I'm not as good as you with it yet but it was a lot of fun to play. Very quick response time. The iron sights were excellent. I think I'll try your custom settings and see how I get on :D

I'm pretty sure you can't, it's a pass the controller only title.

Just ordered the base pack, no games yet though, will buy some when I get to an actual games store (place I ordered the pack from didn't have any Move games yet). How long can you have fun with the demo disc?

I know. I've been counseled quite a few times. The issue was an 18 month child old at the time. Now the second one's 3 years old, so I still have concerns of safety, both for them (we've got the unit secured to the wall), and for the TV itself from grubby hands and the like.

It was supposed to be ~MY ROOM, but it's now the place for the family to hang out. What you gonna do?

i'm astonished at the Move improvement in MAG 1.04, you can go around in hip fire mode now with Man's setting, i just find it disconcerting when going on iron sights, is there anyway to bump up the sensitivity for that mode only?

Free-lock ironsight isn't added to Custom type controls yet. Try standard and you will see what I mean, in standard it's perfect (and how it will be soon in Custom too).

EDIT: I DO wish RE5 had some level of a Bounding Box, as when you are aiming you still have to use the left stick to look around. That's a little bothersome but I am pretty accustomed to it at this point.

hopefully all shooter pointer games get a standardized set of customization options. that would include being able to set a size for a bounding box. it would be awesome if these settings could be saved to your profile and remain constant from game to game. the biggest problem of pointer controls is how long it takes to tweak them to perfection

Damn, now I want MAG.

Got my nav controller today - nice piece of kit. I hope the new triggers migrate over to the DS3 at some point.
Sorry, I haven't heard anything about the triggers being different. Can you explain?

Are you able to play the move from a long distance?
I didn't like how you had to sit so close to the tv just for the wii-mote to work properly.

Remember the biggest complaint about the DS3's triggers? Curved the wrong direction?

Nav and Move are both curved the opposite direction, like ACTUAL triggers.

I'd say it's about the same for my setup, about 15 feet or so. If you had to sit really close it was probably a light issue.

It's a real shame Planet Minigolf doesn't let you play with Move in the demo.

It looks good in the video TTP linked to, but I'm being a serious cheapskate this week and I'd like to try before I buy :P

I don't see why they'd bother works just fine in it's current form.

What other shooting game are plan for Move? I am hoping for Sega port of House of the Dead.
