I sold three moves and 2 SC discs just by having friends try them at my home. I want my check, Sony.
This thing sells itself with people holding the wands.

Absurdity is almost always followed by hilarity.
mrklaw said:Not sure I like it. You don't get the feeling you're holding a cue, as there is nothing to do with your left hand. Plus I couldn't get the hang of the power - I kept hitting the ball really gently, you have to follow through more, which actually feels a little too much.
You do seem to be able to use the move to adjust where you're hitting the cue ball, but i'm not sure yet if its actually doing anything or its just for effect.

BatmanX said:Thank you and thanks to the other guys for the impression, I bought the game back in december but found the controls really unconfortable, so I was hoping that the move could bring me back to the game (Ok I admit it, I'm desperatly searching for a reason to get out and buy a move :lol )
gcubed said:the first 2 words were ok... either its a huge success or it is a mild success that was very undershipped... i'm more willing to believe the latter due solely to the fact that there is no marketing behind it at launch

I keed, I keed. (I personally haven't had particularly bad pointer issues...just a few minor ones which haven't affected me yet really)

Its selling well that is all. There is heavy word of mouth even if you dont think there is. I walked into various stores here NYC and they sold hundreds with each store having either Navs or NonBundle Moves only without bundles. ToysRUs even try to charge 7 dollars more for them with the old city charge excuse!spats said:Most undershipped Sony product ever? There can't be any other reason for this to be selling out everywhere. There was virtually no marketing or hype.
Beaten!MrPliskin said:I hardly think it's intentional undershipping for the sake of 'buzz'. The more likely scenario is that retailers simply didn't order large quantities, and this is a "test run" for them to gauge success. It's not like Sony can tell any retailer to buy huge shipments of their product. Retailers ordered based on what they saw in advertisement, which is little.
In the coming months, advertisement will obviously ramp up, orders will probably get a little larger, and we'll see how things go from there. But this is FAR from intentional by Sony.
If Epic Mickey is dark fantasy, so is Zelda.Belfast said:Yeah..... yes. The PS3 lineup features a lot more "dark-fantasy" type games than the Wii does. Sure, there's Mickey, and you could argue that's a draw to little kids or something, but this is a game aimed at a more nostalgic crowd (i.e. older). Plus it could draw on the appeal of Kingdom Hearts.
Worked up a sweat I see! :lolbabyghost853 said:Posted a little demo in the other thread.

shagg_187 said:Pretty much. Hell, it was released a few days after Halo: Reach launch. Stores aren't even done pulling out Halo advertisements when they are hit with PSMove's launch. When I bought my controllers from Toys R Us, I was the first one to get it at that particular store (Downtown Toronto, mind you) and they had (if I'm correct) 2 SC bundle, 2 EyePet bundle and 8 of each Nav and Move controllers. So yeah, they don't stock up cause they want to see if it sells.
All we have is that SC was #2 most sold game behind Halo Reach in the UK (estimates are that is anywhere from 50-150k which is a big range). However noting that SC was not bundled with the move I think that speaks volumes. Also Halo had more days of sales leaving Halo at around 475K units sold.Ash Sparrow said:Have any figures been released, i think some people might be jumping the gun alittle on selling well. MrPliskin said:The biggest thing to remember is that a lot of the Move Bundles will likely sell additional Move Controllers and NavCons, and those accessories will bring in profit. You really can't "gauge" the success of Move alone just by the bundles, as the real money maker will be the add on accessories along side it (and of course additional software).

MrPliskin said:There are a few hitches with the Move implementation, but they're not really "flawed" as much as they are just getting your head around it.
"Power" is measured once you move PAST your starting point. So, if you put the controller way out in front of you, then you actually have to move PAST that point at a certain speed to attain your power. Basically, you have to START your motion from your torso, go back and then move forward fully extending your arm. Everything else works fantastically, I think. I had a friend over, and we enjoyed a dozen beers and about 5 games as a 'primer' before we went out to the bars, and it was a ton of fun. Maybe not a stand alone reason to get move, but an awesome compliment to the package.

My NA Move and PlayStation Eye are both on their way to Japan, so I'll be able to try in a few days.
babyghost853 said:Yes but it's a little tricky, it's hard to judge where the ball is when it gets low sometimes because your only guide is the on screen ball. I even hit one from behind the back when I said "I wanted to do that", but I wasn't on screen in the vid at the time.
I posted brief impressions earlier in the thread. Long story short, I liked it a lot. I ended up getting a navi controller and it works amazingly, but the Dual Shock 3 solution worked very well too.cvxfreak said:No one has any impressions on RE5 Gold Edition?

Thats for the UK charts what about the others? Its doing better than I expected you have to remember this is a new game for new add-on hardware.flyinpiranha said:The only thing tricky about that is Mafia II dropped 47% since it debuted at a pretty minimal number. So between Reach and Mafia II is a pretty large range.
I hope it does well. Not seeing it in many stores is a good sign but it's also new tech and early adopters and all that. I didn't see much room at a local Best Buy around here for Move stuff but that was a couple days before launch so it could have changed.
All I know is I'm glad I pre-ordered my 2 a day before launch because they had no extra at Gamestop, but they are a bad judge since they order based on pre-orders.
gcubed said:agree, thats why i said the first two words were fine, but yes, it could also be retailers didnt order a large stock... it had the unfortunate timing of releasing the same week as Reach. Hell, i had an expensive day buying Reach, SC and Moves
DidntKnowJack said:It's a small thing, but what I love about RE5 Move is being able to shake the Move to use the knife. One less button to press. Also, when you're aiming, you shake it to reload. I love the control scheme. It's perfect.
