Anyone here own the retail version of Start the Party? I know reviews haven't been very good but the demo is fun even with the few games it let's you play and with 3 people playing it's quite fun, so is it worth it considering i never owned a wii nor did any of the people that would regularly play with me?

Absolutely, specially if you have kids. Its a great family/party game and tons of fun playing together. Also higher difficulty level does provide good challenge for adults too. Not so much of a solo game though. So yeah any one who has younger kids its a must get.

And yeah fuck those reviews.

is it warioware level? I'm thinking about getting it for wife/friends who don't normally play games, but they like games like warioware, etc

Wow where the heck are all of you guys living? Here in the Los Angeles area, every store around me has shelves full of both the Move controller and the NavCon. Unless the employees have been restocking, it looks like at most 1 or 2 Move controllers have been sold per store across 10+ stores I've been at.

I'm not seeing them sold out either. If I would have known, I wouldn't have bought from Amazon. Some people on the board were making it sound like it was sold out everywhere.

Bundles are available at every Gamestop near here.

How many bundles are you finding, though? I would venture a guess that most people didn't buy the Eye, so if you've got to buy the Eye too you might as well get a game for an extra $10.

Everything is widely available, Move PS3 bundle, SC bundle, Move controllers, NavCons, Charging Stations, everything. This was at multiple Targets, GS, Best Buys, and a Walmart. Glad it's getting sales in other parts of the US, but sales look quite disappointing where I'm at.

Damn i just order one move controller and Start the Party on amazon, the thing is i need it to be delivered tomorrow in houston texas cause a friend of mine is working there but he's coming back to mexico on thursday morning :S. How fast is amazons shipping? i paid the fastest available.

Well there hasn't really been much advertisement outside the internet, or at least not at the level one would expect. They really need to hammer this one home; it works like a charm from the demos I've played.

And in Sport Champions' Gladiator game, I've already decided to hold my sword like a fencing rapier AND IT'S AWESOME. The game unlocked a Japanese Katana already in addition to the regular sword, so I hope to god that the game has a rapier. That would be the epitome of just too muchery.

I intend to hold every type of sword in the respectable yet stereotypical fashions. Katana over the head ready to smash downward?

Better believe it.

You cant just look at stock and judge sales, why do people keep doing this?Just because its in stock does not mean its selling bad, just because its out of stock odes not mean its selling well.

Or....the stores in your area have a large quantity of stock that they can replenish since millions of people live in LA.

First best buy I went to (Skokie IL) did not have the SC bundle. I got it at the second BB (Niles IL) I went to. They had about 6 more.

Is Starwars Force 2 supporting Move? I hope it does. It would be awesome.

I am hooked with Move man. I need more games!! :) Sony needs to help 3rd party devs to make good use of Move (no crap like Racquet sport). We need more games supporting Move.

Well like I said earlier, it could be that the employees are just constantly restocking. However, these stores are very close to where I live and work, and being a CAG, I check for clearance every day. The same 1-2 empty spots are there every single day. So definitely could be restocking, but really doesn't seem like it considering the frequency with which I go to these stores.

But if the huge stock is true, that definitely shows that Sony is not purposely undershipping, at least in LA. Just went to check Industry TRU and they had what seemed like 20+ of everything Move related.

How does TW 2011 fair with Move?

I have played the game quite a bit, and there is many good things about it. But it is severly lacking in the short game (putting is fairly good). For some reason chipping and pitching does not match my normal golf techniqe at all (i am an 11.3 hcer). Chipping is the worst, as there is very hard to adjust the power.

The game fails in the swing options, as you have to choose "full, pitch, chip or flop" these swings should be decided by the swing, not by a click of a button. But you have some control with the clubface, which actualy works kinda good.

Still I would have to say it is a much more fun experience than using a regular controller. But since the John Daly game is releasing soon, I would wait and see how that game is reviewed, before you buy it.

Good bundle.
I expecto to see more of new bundles in the next months, even for Europe.

I should have waited to one of this, but I needed to prove it as soon as I could :lol :lol

The chipping is what killed Tiger Woods 09 for Wii. You couldn't control any power at all. Once they fixed that the game is perfect in 11.

Not good to hear about TW 11 PS3. Maybe I'll wait until next year when it's fixed.

Or, even better, the inevitable Hot Shots Golf release.

On a side note, how dumb is Sony for not having a Hot Shots Golf game ready for the Move launch? It just seems idiotic. That series is the perfect game to showcase the power of Move.

Um. Why am I getting "This service is not available in your country/region" when I try to get on the Playstation Store?
Maintenance until 5pm PDT (3 hours and 30 minutes from now).
[edit] :lol beaten for not previewing before posting. I suck.

I don't think it's great to showcase the "power" or more correctly, potential. For sure it'll be fun, but I think there are better options out there that can show off what the controller is capable of.

I meant "power" in more of a business sense. A new Hot Shots Golf game would be easy to pick up and play and a nice, deep, full version of a game with an absolute TON of replayability.

I just makes too much sense to have had one ready at launch.

Grabbed the Move bundle and a second controller yesterday. It's freaking awesome.

Naturally I loaded SC and went right to the gladiator game, and it was way better than I figured it would be (I've always been less than enthusiastic about motion gaming, the awesome tech demos for this are what pushed me over the edge). I swung my sword around behind me for the hell of it, it registers. Bring it over my shoulder level and stab forward/downwards, registers. So awesome. Table Tennis is sweet as hell too.

I was surprised by some of the demos as well. The Shoot was fun as hell. The graphics and the physics-based destruction is something I always yearned for in Wii games like this. Plus spinning around to do the slow-mo move is just cool. It's way better than the Time Crisis demo, which kind of surprised me.

The 'augmented reality' objects being placed onto the controller in Start the Party are FLAWLESS. So freaking cool. This needs to be featured front and center in future ads for the Move.

For a "kids' game this game floored me too. When the flimsy items wiggle in you hand the controller vibrates too. Just "feels" so good.

I just purchased Start the Party and the GF played it for 2 hours straight and didn't want to stop =/

I played a couple of games and it's pretty fun. I was worried it'll lose its appeal like Warioware but so far so good. Btw, how does multiplayer work? On the demo, it was one person at a time. Does the retail disc allow for multiple players at a time during survival?

What exactly makes Start the Party a "kids" game? Because you don't shoot/slice people?

It's interesting how Sony embraced the shape of the Move controller. With the first presentation of the device, there were a general opinion that the controller was ridiculous. But they kept the same shape (because there is no way to hide the glowing ball because it has to be detected by the camera) and they managed to change the global opinion. Now a lot of people even like the lollipop-shape of Move. It's like the Wii name, that in the end people accepted it and even like it.

It's a pity that they didn't show the same strength with the boomerang controller.

Anyone who tried already to get the gold trophy of popping 70 fishes on hard difficulty will agree that this is NOT simply a kids game.

Believe me, I tried it until my arm threatened to fall off.

These games all kiddy too?

You're getting way too offended hombre. The game is obviously intended for a younger audience and/or families. That's not to say it doesn't look enjoyable.
