Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Minigolf's no good for me. It's all about motion golfing with my dad, and he'd only be into the proper sport.

Playing Tiger with him was a fucking disaster.

"Tap the Move button to aim, dad"
"The big one on the front"
"No TAP it"
"Quicker"
"Ok. Now aim your shot"
"It's the T button"
"The trigger"
"On the back"
"You have to point it at the screen"
"No, before you press the button."
"Ok, stop."
"Right, tap the Move button"
"Now point at the screen"
"Now press the trigger"
"There, now aim"
"Just point where you want to move the aimer"
"No don't move the controller about. Keep it in the same place and point."
"No, POINT."
"Like this."
"No you weren't, you were moving it about"
"Is that you done aiming?"
"Right, tap the Move button again"
"That it. Now do your swing"
"Stand like you were playing golf and point the controller down."
"Okay, now press the T button and then swing"
"You swung too early. Keep an eye on the screen and wait for it to tell you to swing."
"I don't know. It takes a few seconds. It's bullshit."
"Ok, that's it, you can swing now."
"No, you have to hold the trigger"
"Yes. Try again."
"What's wrong now?"
"Are you pressing the trigger?"
"No, you have to let go of it first."
"Now point it down."
"Press the trigger"
"WAIT. Jesus Christ!"
"Point it down"
"Press the trigger, DON'T SWING. DO NOT SWING"
"Ok, now swing"
"Thank fuck."
"...It's still your shot."

Any word on when/if KZ2 or UC2 will have move support? :)

Probably never. It doesn't look like Naughty Dog has any intention of using Move soon, and GG is but KZ3 is coming out in February with Move support, so there's no reason for them to waste time patching a two year old game.

Edit: A-ha!!

"I might be going out on a limb here, but it sounds like people want to see the Move gameplay in the demo. We’ll see what we can do. I apologize if the labeling was confusing – we did not intend for it be categorized as a Move-enabled demo."

From a dev on the comments.

It apparently controls menus with Move but not gameplay right now.

That's just so... daft.

I mean do they think folks with new Move controllers just want to muck around in the menu's!? Incredible.

seriously that is the stupidest things I have ever heard, and I have heard plenty in GAF.

I can't believe this is out. I've seen it on store shelves, but not one sample demo is set up anywhere. I can't believe Sony is this naive. I'm hunting for it and can't find it.. How on earth will normal people get hooked?

Did you try best buy? or any other big electronic store?
I don't think walmart/target will have demos because it would take up space and require a person to monitor the controllers at all times.
The frys in fountain valley has a move set up in front of the entrance.
Its been drawing in crowds and I've seen people leave with bundles.

Played some MP Tumble last night.
Amazing precision, fun, interesting game modes.
But DAMN that music is annoying. Please give me some custom soundtrack option :(

Yeah, this thing needs to be up in Best Buys all over the place. Apparently they have times when a Sony rep comes and demos the thing but what about the rest of the time? I have yet to try this cause I'm broke, but being able to try it for myself might speed up the process!

after last week, move controllers are now everywhere. I saw all the shops stocked with movewands. :P Wonder how its selling now that stock is more readily available.

PDC World Championship World Tour on the PS Blog:

Of course, being one of the first PlayStation Move motion controller titles has made developing this game distinctly different from anything we’ve been involved with previously. Unpacking the prototype units we received early in development and getting to play with it in the prototype environment that Sony provide caused quite a stir around the office, with everyone eventually coming over to have a quick go; of course, once we’d implemented it into Darts: Pro Tour they came back again to see how we’d done! The PlayStation Move is such a natural fit for a Darts game, and it truly feels great to load up the latest build, stand up and fire off a 9-Darter (I’ve had a lot of practice!) to hear Sid and John exclaim about the spectacle!

Not my cup of tea exactly, but maybe some of you might get super-excited right now? :D

So, I got ruse last night and the cursor seems to be off by about 3-4 inches onscreen. Anyone have any ideas what the heck to do to fix it? I tried ingame calibration about 50x but to no avail

What do you mean with off?

Its not pointing where i expect it to. It is pointing off about 3-4 inches to the right. If I point at the middle of the screen it is correct in its height but lengthwise it is off about 3-4 inches.

Afaik Ruse doesn't use the camera for positioning. Could it be that the magnetometer or gyro is not working correctly?

The magnetometer can be separately calibrated via xmb->settings.

I'm so ready for a third person or first person shooter (besides RE5G). C'mon Socom & killzone!

I can't wait for SOCOM personally, always been a fan of the seria and being third person i think will be perfet with Move, i will get Killzone 3 too for sure but i'm more excited about SOCOM+Move so far.

i haven't been following mag, but i was under the assumption that most people on gaf said it sucked?

I wouldn't say it sucked, but it became stale. The different factions are a hinderance to me though since you can only play with friends if they're of the same faction. Finding good teams is essential. At the beginning it was hit or miss with teams. Most were still used to playing for themselves and ignoring the objectives completely. I haven't played in months so it might have gotten better in that regard. I hope so since I'll be firing it up to try out MAG with the new Move setup.

Downloading also since i am very curious to see how an fps works with the Move. Should take some time to get used to the controls though.

Man, I feel like if I could get it on RE5 then anything is possible. From what I've heard MAG is a pretty good implementation.
