Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Past two days I have been really going back and forth if I want to buy Move. Someone please help sway me one way or the other.

If you are interested in the tech and want to try out an alternative control scheme that works as advertised, then I say go for it. I jumped on the starter pack day 1 and didn't regret it one bit. PSN has a big batch of demos for you to try out, as well as a few downloadable games. Retail game offering is still a big meager as far as big "AAA" games go but that will be amended in a few months when SOCOM, Killzone and LBP2 come out.

Do you want a sore shoulder?
Do you like sweating a lot?
Is playing Bocce with a friend your hobby outdoors, but you are too lazy to go out and winter is coming?
Do you hate Resident Evil 5 because the controls suck ass?

Then buy Move. The official choice of People Who Love Fun - PEWHLFUUU

I was the same before getting it and once you go try the few demos, you'll be convinced right away ;) It's a great piece of tech and things can only get better from here on. Sports Champions is tons tons of fun! :)

I would recommend reading through the posts in this very thread.

I think there are enough positive impressions from people who actually bought and played Move that it may persuade you to try it.

ReallY? I tried Ipod's USB dock and I tried Blackberry USB charger. None work :/
Right. On;y some standalone chargers will work. Someone posted a thread at one point a few years back about what type works. If I remember right, the controller sends a signal and expects a response then it works. Dumb cable only from the wall chargers mostly did not work. But almost all powered USB hubs do as well as devices that take a harddrive/flashdrive, so stuff like PCs/laptops/DVRs... and so forth.

half-silly question that I'm trying to answer before ordering a charge dock for my controllers.

For something like this:

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0041RY3W4/

Are the charge docks for motion/navi interchangeable? I don't use the navigation controller at all right now, so it would be nice if I could put my two Move controllers on the dock at the same time.

Doesn't look like it on that link (pic 3). on the official sony one they are interchangeable but they have built in these kind of plastic flaps that move depending on if its a Nav or a Move you're charging. The one you're looking at actually looks smaller (i.e. no flaps)... i used the word flaps too much in that post, didn't i :lol ... flaps

so any GAFers tried the gun add-ons for the MOVE? I am interested in impression/reviews of the official Sony pistol and others.

I thought the official pistol is not out for a few more weeks.

Ugh, so I bought move and an extra controller, and I dont have enough room for it. I have to move my entire couch to play it. Im kind of disappointed. I figured I had enough room since I could use a wii fine. For games like Mag you can sit down and play them right?

Yes, the recommended distance is 3 feet.

Sports Champions is the only game you should need extra space for, is that what you're talkin' about?

I play MAG from my normal every day gaming position, just need to point the camera down a bit.

Playing NBA 2K11, will give the MOVE a play test, It doesn't use the sphere at all just the motion controls, so its pretty much Wii controls. Its difficult coming from DS3 to MOVE.

Interesting tidbit you have to sync the DS3 to the Move before you play, it prompts you to press a button on the DS3 and the Move simultaneously to pair the controllers. Don't have a Navi, IGN Move preview stated that 2k11 isn't compatible with the navi since sony didn't send visual concepts a navi controller or it wasn't in the SDK.

Where on the PSN is the Move patch for RE5? I did "resident move" search and brought up costume packs. I also searched under disk based game add-ons and didn't see it.

Obviously user error but could somebody point me in the right direction :lol ?

DERP .. I'm assuming the patch it does on launch is it ... DERP

I assume you're talking about Resident Evil 5? Isn't that just for the gold edition or whatever?

I think the game just auto patches. Its the gold version only, not RE5 basic.

^^^^ Yeah, I had a DERP moment as I bought RE5 Gold to specifically play with the Move (haven't played it before) but before I booted it up I thought "oh, I need the patch" and started looking, then I just started the game and it patched itself.

Just picked up the bundle at costco for $89.99. I didn't expect sports champions to be as good as it is! I've never moved around as much and actually felt like I was playing the real thing as when I was playing TT. Only on silver and it's already gettngmuch more difficult. Gonna check out some demos from the disc tonight. Def worth the purchase price. :D

Where can I get this?!

Just two questions about Time Crisis:

- Is there a reticule visible all the time?
- If yes, can I turn it off in all off the different games included in Razing Storm?

I played the "Shoot" demo and while it's sorta fun, it just feels like a mouse pointer game à la Moorhuhn and gets boring quite fast. Loved Time Crisis on PSX and hope this will be up to it.

This game could even convince me to buy a second Move for dual wielding and co-op.

Time Crisis Preview

Looks like this is a must have for MOVE. Amount of content in there is crazy good! :)

Pre-ordered.

TTP. Hang in there, but we really need to see the new M.A.G. 2.0 review.

If everything goes according to plan (and it usually NEVER does) it should be on YouTube in a few hrs. Will keep u posted.

(think you'll love the vid)

Oh great I was looking for that too...

didnt they make some kind of survey if they should make it downloadable or a new retail version? And people voted to buy the game again?

Been watching your videos a lot and they are always very thorough, so I expect nothing less.

:D

Think you will love this one as well. I've managed to put everything (controls overview in training grounds / actual online gameplay) into a 13 minutes video. I think it shows rather clearly that Move works great for FPS, despite me having to play from a rather uncomfortable position with added lag caused by the video capture card. Pretty sure it will end debates on the subject ;)

edit: I'm uploading to youtube now. Fingers crossed it doesn't get "failed" (I'd kill if that happens - have been working on this non stop for the last 3 days). Should take 2 or 3 hrs. Edit: Probably more...

Alright, count me to the group of people who think Heavy Rain is much more fun with the Move controller! (also, the required actions often make more sense and you have more variety)

I'm replaying it, too :-)
