Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

I played RE5, MAG and Heavy Rain for several hours/complete playthroughs with the DS3+Move combo and had no problem whatsoever. I actually like putting the Move controller on the side and e.g. navigate menus and the (ingame) XMB with the DS3 in both hands.
In short, I would wait until the Navi is bundled with a game/another Move controller or is significantly cheaper. The Navi is more much ergonomic when hold freely in the air, but there is no game in which you would have to stand while playing with Navi/DS3, so currently the best thing about it is just the better L2 trigger (if you have no real triggers for your DS3).
Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you. And I have the Real Triggers, couldn't live without them!

Another question:
I just bought Heavy Rain Move Edition and plan on finally playing it for the first time after finishing Castlevania, should I play with Move controls or DS3? I plan on trying out both, but is there a consensus on which type is superior? I never liked the waggle controls in Wii games that shouldn't really be waggle, and I'm having the feeling that they are like this in HR.

I had played the first 4 chapters with the DS3in anticipation of the Move patch and imo Move fits the game much better. It's more immersive, they said they wanted the player to feel like a mimic and they achieved it, especially on action scenes.

To start a car you hold the T button, reach your arm forward and twist the Move. You hold the T button and push/pull the Move to open a door. It feels great :D

With the DS3 most of the prompts are right stick motions which became Move motions. You won't feel tired despite this.

Sometimes it doesn't work properly but that's because of the range of motion they need to detect it.

Say they want you to pull something, if you are playing with your hand next to your knee and immediately hold the T button (holding T button tells the game where is the start point of your motion) you won't be able to do the motion because you'll hit the chair/sofa back, unless you're sitting at the edge of it. But if you extend your arm forward before holding the T button it works flawlessly.

Some QTE also require for you to hold Move + two other face buttons. Don't try to do it with one hand, you are supposed to use both hands, because your character is about to perform an action with both hands. Sweet stuff.

An advice if you are trying to win the Kamikaze trophy, during that scene you don't need to hold the T button to perform motions like in the rest of the game.

Have fun!

Data of games sold in Spain, September:

1. FORMULA 1 2010 (PS3)
2. STARTER PACK (MOVE) (PS3)
3. NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. (WII)
4. FORMULA 1 2010 (XBOX360)
5. MAFIA II (PS3)
6. HALO REACH (XBOX360)
7. ART ACADEMY (DS)
8. SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 (WII)
9. KINGDOM HEARTS: BIRTH BY SLEEP (PSP)
10. SPORTS CHAMPIONS (MOVE) (PS3)

Without numbers. But it seems that Move is... moving very well. Not the games, but at least the starter pack (that in Europe come with a demo disc).

The majority here seems to prefer the Move controls. Basically, Heavy Rain has waggle controls the game had waggle controls to begin with (Sixaxis and analogstick movements),
I finished the game with both and I liked the Move controls much more, mostly because many actions actually mimic irl actions quite well (which is almost not possible with the DS3). See Konosuke's post for some examples.

The only action I liked better with the Sixaxis controls is steering the car, because you hold it like a wheel. But the "lightgun" scene with Move alone counters that.

actually, you don't have to hold T during any (timed) actions scene or when you have already have to hold another button.
At any time the sphere turns red, your movements are registered.

The "lightgun" scene was awesome. I barely noticed the sphere turning red during those scenes at all :lol Good to know tho.

So are there any guns yet that attach to the EXT port on the bottom for the trigger, or do they all have the gun trigger mechanically attached to the Move trigger?
The Precision Shot 3 is mechanical, dunno about the others.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread lately. :/

However, Time Crisis comes out this Tuesday so.... Yay or Nay?

we should also have some reviews of the gun attachments. a poster on the previous page said that the official sony one was good because it keeps the weight of the controller close to your hand so it doesn't feel weird.

im curious about reviews on the Precision Shot and the ICON ones since they seem to be the cheapest.

I was the poster who has both the precision shot and the Sony Official.

The precision shot puts the weight a bit too far forward and it feels off balance when using the gun compared with the Sony "Ray-gun" official gun shell.

I would NOT suggest the precision shot over the official Sony one just on "gun feel".

EDIT: They are both mechancial trigger gun shells completely made of plastic. No electronics whatsoever.

TTP can you do a video about Killzone 3's controls vs. Killzone 2's controls?

I know it's not Move related, but I'd love to see a comparison

If I get some spare time sure. iWaggle3D is currently eating all the time I've got. I can barely play games recently. Fuck.

DO NOT BUY any pack with ping pong paddles in it, the orientation of paddle does not match the way you're holding it in Sports Champion. i.e., The paddle in-game is vertical when you're holding Move controllers with face buttons facing upwards, but the plastic handle is horizontal in your hands, totally idiotic design.

unless there's way to match the way both in-game paddle and plastic paddle are handled that I don't know about, stay away.

The Zelda sword and shield from Champions pack, however, is awesome. It's made out of soft foams and very cool to wield around without the fear to hurt anyone.

Man, I feel like my PSMove button is losing responsiveness after pushing it so much on all the games and skipping winning animations in Sports Champions. Anyone else getting this issue or am I just pushing too damn hard?

Finally made it to Kenji in the Gold Championship. Damn @ the reflexes needed... but it's still damn fun :D

Volleyball, Frisbie, and Bocce all suck exponentially though. :(

Jeff Cannata was raving about Time Crisis on Weekend Confirmed, so affirmative.

You should post this in the article comments section. That's quite useful info. :)

Do we know when/if Flower is getting Move support ?

I asked TGC 4 weeks ago about a Journey trailer and Flower Move patch on their official site, that's what Kellee answered:

"No plans on either, yet. Sorry! We are busy just making the game, and are taking a little break from promoting it."

Frisbie is awesome in multiplayer and single player. Bocce is very good too. I don't like volleyball neither, I've barely played it.

Hey TTP, check out the latest Zipline (Zipper podcast). they give iWaggle3D a big shout out!! thanking you for your videos. nice!:D

Finally got my second Move controller and so far Gladiator with two controllers has been the most fun I've had with the move. It is just such a blast - it's how I imagined Dragon Quest on the Wii was going to play like.

yeah, 2 wands really makes Gladiator. You should also try archery because its amazing with dual wand. These 2 game modes are my most played SC gamemodes thanks to the immersion and the dual wands.

Has he actually played/did he give impressions? Or is he just hyped about it?

how is move as a replacement for Ds3? I mean in a normal game if it were allowed. Let's say an rpg for instance...

It should be pretty easy in most cases, as long as they can cleverly handle the loss of R1/2/3 (two of which can be mapped to Move button and Trigger)

Sorcery looks like excellent implementation in a pretty cool looking RPG.

What do you mean? Its allowed in MAG and it works great. Same in RE5, and Heavy Rain...

I dont think you can use a Move in say FF13 if the game is not designed to allow it.

I was going to make a snarky remark, but admittedly ever since "experiencing" the move, I can't stop imagining experiencing some of my favorite PS3 titles w/ the move. I can think of multiple ways for implement move controls into RPGs; from simple (heh) menus navigation to maybe motion based special attacks, QTE, etc.

I'm excited to see where it goes. Lots of potential for awesomeness.

He went to the Namco event and played it. Fast forward to 57 minutes into the podcast to get his impression. Try to ignore the negative nancy outbursts of Lahey.

As far as I'm concerned it's a killer app for Move

I was wondering does Child of Eden support Move controls?
TTP said:

I hope this is not another shit 'exclusive' deal by MS to block the MOVE support. I fucking hate MS for doing the most exclusive deals.

Where is Time Crisis OT? Any reviews out? Any one got The Shoot yet?

I finally had a chance to try MAG with the Move today, I'm really impressed, it works much better than the Wiimote for FPS, like the WMP, you can't lose track of the pointer, and the buttons are quicker to access than the wiimote's dpad, so you don't have to relly on waggle for simple actions. Speaking of which, I don't like the stab motion to use the knife, I wish it was mapped on a button:lol

I can't wait to try more FPS with Move, as I'm not a big fan of MAG :lol

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is serious problems calibrating the Move with the new Time Crisis Raizing Storm (the pirate game calibration does not work at all).

This also happened in the demo, but it was the only game I didn't try.

I think it may have to do with the Move color and my environment. It would be nice if I could just manually cycle through colors to find the most effective one.

Is Move RE5 as fun as RE4 Wii edition? Also is Dead Space 2 gonna have Move controls like RE?

RE5 works flawlessly with Move, but it still doesn't fix the awful movement controls. We don't know about DS2 yet.
