Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

want more impressions of time crisis, especially regarding accuracy as a lightgun and not just as a pointer.

I played it some last night... unfortunately it very much has a 'pointer' feel to it. Maybe it's because of the reticule (that you can't turn off), but I never really felt like I was aiming with a lightgun. I ended up mostly shooting from the hip and using relative position to aim my next shot, although that might be my lazy fault. To make matters worse, the calibration would drift to the right constantly, forcing me to recalibrate between almost every level.

Using the Move button to reload/hide is also a pretty big PITA. Means you have to hold the gun with 2 hands, essentially, which further hinders you from having a true lightgun experience.

It's not terrible, but not what I was hoping for. I've heard The Shoot does a much better job, so I'm hoping for a patch or something.

Still, I feel like it's a pretty good deal overall. I played TC4 and the Pirates game, the latter was a pleasant surprise. Unlimited ammo, just blasting away at hordes of enemies. Was fun.

Just got an email from Amazon this morning that my order for Time Crisis Razing Storm has been delayed until sometime between November 10th and 24th. WTF? Did they just sell out on pre-orders or something?

Guess I'll let it stand and just see when it arrives.

yea. the sony gun thing shipped without time crisis today for me. though i haven't gotten the delay in shipping notice yet :(

yeah dead storm pirates is awesome, seriously old school - no reloading, unavoidable attacks etc.

i tried the FPS mode in razing storm and found it completely unplayable, but i think i need a nav controller for it really.

As you said, they have better prices than local stores, that's why I ordered from them. But I don't agree with you about the shipping thing. They shipped Mario Collection on Wii yesterday, and I think it's already waiting for me in the mailbox. And same thing happened a few months back when I ordered Mario Galaxy 2 from them. I think they usually get the games on Wednesday and ship them immediately, so depending on where you live you'll get them on Thursday or Friday. I guess I should blame Sony, they must be the ones who shipped the packs too late.

Haha, maybe it is only a Sony and Amazon thing then since I have never gotten a PSP/PS3 games from them on launch day before.

.k

Just tried it out again at Best Buy (the ping pong game), and my impressions this time were much better, I was not tired and carrying my work laptop on a bookbag, and most importantly I held the move like I hold a tennis racket, not like I hold a ping pong paddle, I tried to just Wii Tennis it but soon enough I started moving around as that was the only way I was gonna get some points. I worked out a small sweat too in the brief time I was playing it. My 2nd impressions of the device were definitely much better than my 1st time with it. I still want to see it providing a great advantage while used on a FPS or 3rd person shooter (Killzone 3 or SOCOM 4 can maybe prove that to me), or maybe on a RTS game (RUSE maybe?). More importantly, I need to see 3rd parties supporting it before I get on the bandwaggon (DS2, Portal, Civ, etc) would convince me.

I thought I was the only one, I was excited to go home today to play it. So disappointing. I guess they don't have any pre-order guarantees. But yeah on Amazon it says it's only in stock by third party companies.

Thanks. Sounds like it's no different from the demo, which is disappointing. The move button for hide is stupid because it makes the gun shell almost unusable

i didn't have any issues with the shoot reticule during the demo, so i'd recommend downloading that to find out if you have issues.

i didn't find the gamer super compelling either - but it played well.

I was leaning towards The Shoot, but with the jittery reticule in the GB quick look now I'm not so sure. This looks lovely and smooth.
Don't be fooled, it jitters because the guys hands are shaking. The jittering means that The Shoot doesn't have the control lag like the games with 'smooth' cursor have. It controls so much better because of that, trust me.

Might give the demo a try then, thanks. I'm always on the fence about these games, I'm not terribly keen on tons of extra crap lying around (I've never bought a GH/RB game).

My parents got my wife and I a Move bundle (camera, wand and Sports Champions) the other day, but I haven't tried it out yet. Managed to find a second wand today while getting lunch, so we'll try it out soon.

Any impressions on Time Crisis: Razing Storm? Has it been vastly improved as compared to the demo (because I couldn't calibrate TC:RS at all during the demo).

whatever you do, don't read the very page you're posting on!

I am interested in Time Crisis but its release is a strange situation, and I wish it was $40 like most other Move games.

My next Day 1 Move title will be Under Siege I think.

out in japan today

eyes on next media create

you can use navi + move in all ps3 games if you want an extra controller for multiplayer games (castle crashers for instance), without have to plug in the pseye

ive tested

even super street fighter 4, lol

anyone know if the move works with ps2-eyetoy on ps3?

thanks

pseye cam can be used as your "headset" for online games and pc webcam installing a single driver, very easy

and microfone for singstar and rockband games

im very satisfied with my new acquisition

Man, it'd be great if they'd make "hiding the orb" a proxy for hiding... you could play behind the couch!

Anyone know if there are any plans for netflix PS3 to get move support?
netflix canada never talks about anything. they do respond fast on their facebook page to peoples questions but its almost always a "we'll make an announcement if we have any news on anything with regards to netflix".

nothing has been mentioned about move support.

Is it me or is Time Crisis not available anywhere? And how is the gun accessory?

the gun accessory is getting universal praise and many places are calling it a must have for rail shooters

Figured as much. Playing the Time crisis demo seemed odd with out a guncon or move adapter. Now I need to find Time Crisis at kmart, since I got a $25 gift cert from buying my move bundle.

It's so obvious that even the first trailer kinda does it. What pisses me off is that some G-Actions on FPS mode allow you to take cover just by aiming the Move offscreen. Why not make it at least like that for every game? Ugh.

PS3's Move Has Sold 1 Million Units in North America
Posted October 21, 2010 by James Brightman

Sony Computer Entertainment America has finally provided a sales number for its first month of PlayStation Move sales: 1 million units. The company previously said the motion controller was selling "extremely well," but failed to give data. In Europe, SCEE said that Move had sold 1.5 million units.

SCEA boss Jack Tretton has noted that Move is in very high demand, and currently demand for Move is ahead of supply. Sony actually doesn't expect to have enough supply to meet the demand until February. "We had to go back and increase production twice, we're absolutely maxed out right now," Tretton said, according to Reuters.

We've previously shared our thoughts on PlayStation Move's market potential, and while we think the device is well-built, Sony could really benefit from increased exposure. We suggested, at the time, that they leverage Oprah and the mainstream. Ironically, that's what Microsoft is now doing with Kinect. Of course, Sony can't really afford to shell out half a billion dollars on a marketing campaign the way Microsoft can.

A lot better NA sales than some places seem to have lead on. I'm glad I picked mine up at launch day even if it took 3 stores to find one (one Best Buy was holding some Moves back for the Sunday ad even though it was the same price so there was no difference). :lol

They could do so much better with more in your face ads like MS is doing for Kinect...Sony has a better product but they don't spend much on adv.

any number you get from a a console manu except in regards to NPD will be "shipped". Thats what they deal in and what they provide for investors.

I have seen a bunch of move commercials on TV... moreso then i would have thought (a lot during baseball and Nfl games) and they said they were going to save most of it for the holiday push, but they will not have anywhere near the investment in advertising that MS is making for kinect.

2.5 million sold WW is good news for Sony as they make a profit on each controller.

I think they should have expected a high demand and should have prepared for greater rates of manufacture.

it's pretty popular here in my country, its practically sold out, local Sony store said you have to wait for 3-5 days for orders to be filled
