Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

I wish they'd release that game here already ... Thankfully we have the demo, which reminds me I have to try tomorrow if I can draw Kanji like that.

Oh and Happy 100th page/5000th post! Go Move!

EDIT: darn, too late. :lol

Hey dudes, I broke down and bought the Sports Champions bundle last night, only $89 at Costco.

Any consensus on what are the best other games right now?

Well Table tennis is one. Besides that Gladiator and Archery.

Maybe it's just me....but I was just looking for some point and shoot arcadey action.

This is exactly what these games are. They are arcade games that have been ported to home console that try to be as close to the arcade experience as possible. Nobody in the arcade looked at the story either. You play it for some quick fun and maybe go for high scores if you're hard core (Combo is the key in Razing Storm).

That review just completely missed the point. 10 years ago reviews of games like this would concentrate on how close of a port it is.

I was hesitant to open my copy of TC:RS after the game trailers review, glad I did because it is a lot of fun.

I did not even know the game had some lame ass fps bult in, who wants to play that?

Sega where is my virtua cop collection?

Your telling me, I was excited not to have the tv flash white every time I pull the trigger. Finally a light gun game that consent look like a strobe light going off in my living room.

Got Time Crisis Razing Storm in the mail today, with a free Soul Calibur Broken Destiny shirt.:D

Well apparently I need to press Move-button to cover and reload, so shooting all cool one-handed is not an option.
Luckily I already bought the Logic 3 Sportsgun:

Gun is HUGE.:lol

I just hold the gun like Dean Winchester sporting a sawed-off shotgun in Supernatural.
Best arcade game shooting EVER!:lol

Fight: Lights out preview

Really positive impressions so far...looks like they have really improved the lag and it is much more 1:1. Looking forward to this game. Sony needs to get some good titles out there for MOVE soon before it fizzles out.

Danny Trejo for the WIN !!! :D

now we need a shot of Danny Trejo with two of these in his hands!!!!

I LOVE Flight Control. Such a simple but great game, and the price is perfect. We need more of these kind of cheap and fun games. Bring on the iPhone ports!! I would play Zen Bound on the move, if it has double move support (like that sculpture tech demo for the move). Just imagine rotating the little wooden figure with the move in one hand, and then controlling the rope with the other hand! It would be awesome.
I also think I'm gonna buy a second move controller just to be able to play Flight Control with the gf. Beat Sketch might also be fun with 2 players.

If there are move controls in Dead Space 2, I hope they find a way to let me use the PS Gun and the Nav controller. That gives me access to very few buttons, so I guess it would need gesture controls. I like the feel of the gun, but playing RE5 is impossible with that setup.

So wait...you can't shoot off screen in Time Crisis to reload, and dropping the controller doesn't put you in cover? Silly.

pressing a button is MUCH better than the other shit.

I stand by what I said months ago when I saw people playing this game. It will not review well, simply because it requires you to watch your opponent and know when to counter and or throw a punch. Too many reviewers will just flail to no end and blame the game. If you sit in the pocket and throw meaningful blows and know how to get out of the way of a punch as if you're standing in a phone booth(since you can't move or you will mess up the calibration).

Bobbing and weaving in a phone booth is how you will have to fight in this game. Short chopping punches to get distance then some straight jabs ect....Set up punches in short burst not all out flailing until you get tired.

This game did itself no service by not going the transparent and or opaque look for your fighter when he is engaged in combat. Bad design choice, they could have giving us the option.

I will be buying this game, just because I don't trust any review score until I see a P.I.P. of the review playing the game. If it is as bad as they say it is, then I will concede. But, just like with John Dayl's golf game, it takes time to learn the nuances of the game to appreciate it and that will probably go for this one as well. And we saw how that game was reviewed.

I'm finding Deadstorm Pirates to be my favorite game on TC:RS. So simple yet so charming, where RS and to a lesser extent TC4 is "messy" with stuff going on.

I just can't get used to the "Story Mode" controls. Moving the controller to the sides just to look around is really awkward, I couldn't seem to get used to it. I hope you can use DualShock3 as an optiion...
What is the general consensus on that?

I disagree, but only because you can't press the move button to reload if you have it hooked up with the different plastic guns. It should have at least been an option, IMO.

I think The Shoot is definitely better than Time Crisis, though unlocking 2P mode is ridiculous.

Kinda old though (and not sure if this was posted, I tried searching but no luck) but Hydravision (ObsCure) just rated Funky Lab Rat for the PS3/PSN (platforming puzzle game that supports Move), it was announced at October 1 though.

Yeah def liking the shoot more then Time crisis, love that you can shoot offscreen to reload, that should have been an option in time crisis.

Finally broke down and picked up a Move controller. I also got the demo disc that comes with the SC bundle. Figured the between the demos and the compatible games I already own I would be set for a little while at least.

The problem is the games I want to try it with don't seem to want to work.

Tiger Woods demo (from the disc) recognizes the controller is there, but won't respond to anything I do with the Move controller.

PAIN tells me I have to re-download something because it's missing a file, but I can't find anything listed in the store.

High Velocity Bowling is better with the DS3.

I'm updating Hustle Kings now, so hopefully it will work, but is anyone else having issues with Tiger Woods or PAIN?

3/10 from IGN!

Closing Comments
It is uncertain whether a bit more time in development could have shaped The Fight: Lights Out into something mildly enjoyable, but as it stands the finished product is a mess that is not only frustrating to play -- it is also tiring and boring. The slow and inaccurate control mechanics are frustrating, the ridiculous tough-guy approach inspires laughter, the single-player career mode will lose your interest almost immediately and multiplayer will lose you even sooner. The Fight: Lights Out is a game where the developers probably should have thrown in the towel a long time ago.

Is the heavy rain patch out yet and if not when is it coming?

Also how is Resident Evil 5 with waggle?
1. Yes it is out, and Honestly I prefer playing it without Move.
2. Have you played RE4 for Wii? Just like that my young padawan

M$ will throw moneyhats to IGN and theyll give Kinect games great scores!
Fighters Uncaged will get a 7 out 10 just because you can jump and throw kicks and punches like crazy and you feel entertained jumping like an idiot in the room

Out of curiosity which games support 2 Move controllers for 1 player besides Sports Champions.

Time Crisis when you're being hardcore. Seriously, it's so brain-melting trying to concentrate on 2 things at one but really satisfying when you get the hang of it.

Proper answer: The Fight and SC, that's it I believe.

After undertaking a laborious calibration process (which happens before every single fight)

Wrong.
There are two calibration process. An initial one which is long, and a quick one you do before each match. Which is even quicker than the Sports Champions one. Only 2 steps instead of 3.

You'd think that blocking would be as simple as holding your dukes up towards your face. Unfortunately, you also have to hold the O button on your PS Move.

Wrong.
Circle button is for re-centering your arms to chest level in the case tracking goes ga-ga (kinda like re-centering the cursor in a shooter). If they have been pushing O for blocking they have been doing it wrong all the time, fucking up the tracking by themselves.

sure, it will be difficult to cover (releod) on a gun shell, but you can play the story mode in "razing storm" with the navi-controller (for movement) and then, you nee to waggle the move up to go into cover and honestly, that works like shit. and so, the whole mode which play much slower than a typical lightgun shooter is worthless.

When walking:
- you can't look around. Seriously.

When aiming:
- Instead of aiming and moving the camera with either the analog stick or Move, like in most shooters, you move the camera with the left analog stick and aim with Move. It feels weird and takes some getting used to.
+ Aiming with Move is quick and easy.

If you have Move and have the game, I'd recommend trying it out.

Great video as always :D

Anyway, my opinion that the Fight should treat distance the way sports champions table tennis does. Step forward to close the gap, step back to pull away from your opponent, but relative distance stays fixed when you are stationary. Add this, (plus a transparent character model) and I think the game will be worth a purchase. But as the way it is in its current state, I don't think the game warrants a purchase. At least not for me.
