Does anyone have Mel B fitness game? Thinking bout buying it for the girl.
I ordered this a few weeks ago from Best Buy and those fools won't have it available for pickup until Nov 26th. :-(

I'm confused why Target/Gamestop has them in stock online, but the rest of the retailers don't and there's no eta either. O_O

I thought that, too, but there are games that use the camera for tracking and the sphere can have specific colors or even change the color during gameplay.
e.g. in MAG the sphere is either set to orange, blue or green depending on your faction and that doesn't change how good it is tracked in your room.

looks more to me like pink is the standard setting of the sphere (probably for the reason you mentioned though)
The ball colour was explained by Anton in a closed presentation, but he probably said it in some video. It's also weird because that Sorcery demo, the dude took the potion and it changed colour. I guess it will only change to specific colours if the lighting allows it.

Maybe they should have an option to set certain colours for user preference.

I'm sure by default it's pink for the first Move/player, and then blue for the second. Games seem to be free to change this if they want to (MAG, as mentioned) however I suspect if tracking becomes an issue it'll override the 'ambient' colour with the ideal colour for tracking. Seems to make the most sense that way.

The Fight is amazing, I really don't get the hate in the reviews for it.

It teaches you to punch properly, and it is a proper workout in the process...... Some of the review sites have done the devs a disservice.

I just wish the camera was better in low lighting for the head tracking, it always complains of flicker/grain so I have to switch it off at night.

Some PS blog comments about Beat Sketcher
George Weising | November 12th, 2010 at 8:53 am

It will be out on November 23rd!

George Weising | November 11th, 2010 at 3:07 pm

Absolutely yes!

Saving pictures is fully supported from within the game. Your saved pictures are stored in your XMB photo gallery. You can post them to Facebook or even print them out right from your PS3 if you have a USB printer connected :)

Yeah, honestly the original demo was created pretty early in development and was kind of rushed. We will be releasing a much improved updated demo in December that will fix all of the issues from the original demo .

thanks! I'm about to cancel my Best Buy order. Having to wait more than 3 weeks for a game after its release? F that.

what would pink be? healthy?

I like to play scary games with lights off and something about the glowing pink orb could detract from the atmosphere

just kidding though, I love the lights and there is a ton of cool stuff to be done with this thing

I know they never caught on but I would give my left testicle for Sackboy Sports. I'm having a good time with Sports Champs but the no. 1 thing it lacks is personality but if it had LBP style and Sackboys (with costumes and everything) it would take it to the next level.

Well, in DS2 I'd imagine the ball would start with the blue hue of the health bar on their back, and then turn yellow, and eventually red when dying. I think it'd be really awesome.

Glad they're doing a new Beat Sketcher's demo - that controller number issue is downright embarrassing. As for screenshot saving, that already works in the demo. You can check my facebook page for some examples that I did with no PC intervention. ;) The full game actually allows you to record your whole drawing process and upload that to youtube. Much cooler! :)

My Beat Sketcher Facebook album:

Can't wait for the full version of this thing - I love the demo so much already. I hope someone someday takes the painting thing even further - I want that tech demo spray painting!

How did you get the teddy stamp into Beat Sketcher ?

It would be great if Beat Sketcher has a 3D mode so that we can walk into a 3D drawing. So if you draw a circle around yourself, the system will automatically occlude the part behind you as you move.

You have something of a clone/stamp tool that can grab a square from anything you see on the camera feed and then stamp it all over the place. The girl in the picture loved it, as you can see. :lol

Just a 3D version of Beat Sketcher altogether could be interesting, though I wouldn't mind if that was a different game altogether, where you can make 3D objects by drawing lines, etc. and place them in 3D space with the Move. Drawing a circle around yourself is technically impossible after all, both because the Move can't track you behind you, and you yourself aren't a 3D object, but if you could draw a circle and then draw another cirlce through it with the Move and perhaps use a second move or a camera option to look at it from different angles , that would already be pretty cool. Of course that's going to work a lot easier still with 3D glasses, but that's for the future.

Err... is Beat Sketcher out? Also, DDR PS3... my couch apparently occupies the exact spot where I need to be to optimally use the Move functionality, and there aren't many options for moving it. I actually turned the Eye to Near-angle Mode to compensate, but was still having problems.

It seems like it could be fun, but I dunno, they just need to give you options for adjusting the on-screen play area. I guess it's not as much of an issue for optimal setups, but for me, I have to be a bit farther back. Thus, I can hit the upper circles easily enough, but considering how the average person's arms swing, the bottom ones are too far out for me to hit reliably. Now, if they would let you move those towards the inside of the screen, it would work much better.

I take it the Move is sold out in the UK. I asked my sister what she'd like for her Birthday and she said a Move, but I looked at GAME, HMV, PLAY and AMAZON.CO.UK and it was completely sold out.

I've not lived in the UK for over 10 years, is there anywhere else I can order from that is likely to have some in stock?

You know, this would be the perfect time for a new Move compatible Hot Shots Golf...

John Dailys Pro Stroke Golf is what everyone will recommend over Tiger Woods half-assed implementation.

Stand out titles? I love me some Time Crisis and Sports Champions is great, but I recommend you read the first post and look through iWaggle sites videos.

EDIT: And my stores seem to be a bit void on Move controllers. I was trying to find another one for Sports and The Fight, but I can't find any. Store owner recommended I reserve one if I want it, and that supplies/shipments are lower compared to how many they actually want.

You could try a local PC World store.

Tumble is the best I've played yet. It's a simple, but fun little game that has you stacking blocks and stuff but it stands out because the controls are super accurate and it really shows off just what the Move can do. It's only $10 so it's definitely worth playing.

does Planet Mini Golf suck?

It's quite good actually. Doesn't do anything special with the Move tho. For example, it only uses angle data to track the spin, not the sphere. Meaning you only need to flick the wrist basically. Same with John Dailys Pro Stroke Golf, albeit you do need to apply more power to the spin which a simple flick of the wrist can't produce.

In both cases tho, they register rotation around the vertical axis (when point the Move downwards) so you have to be firm in your swing. If you get what I mean.

Tell me about the fight.... Terrible critic reviews but the user reviews on metacritic are really positive
Well admittedly I've only played for a couple hours but initial impressions are positive.

First of all it's great exercise. My arms ate killing me from the swinging.

It can be a little hard to hit an opponent sometimes, but it's rarer than reviews let on. There is a sense of impact when you hit someone. It's really satisfying hitting a flurry of punches to an opponent.

Training kind of sucks, but the event mode is great. You basically go through different tiers of opponents with different win conditions to each one. Some are really hard at the low level that I am right now, but they are still fun.

Sorry for the jumbled impressions, I'm on my
iPhone and it's a bitch to format posts on it. If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to answer them.

I did another sloppier post on The Sly Collection's Move games but I figured I'd do a little write up for those who are curious

Treasure Snagging with Sly
Click X on falling icons and 'pull' them in with the Move to gain points

Bentley RC Race with Bentley
Move the cursor to navigate a helicopter through rings to gain points, avoid bad rings.

Guru Dart Shooter with Murray
A simple light gun style game where you shoot bad guy targets and avoid innocent targets

Interpol Target Practice with Carmelita
Fire a gun at a moving cursor, follow it as it circles and swirls across the screen

All 4 games support up to 4 players, each of you can choose from the main characters to play. They function just fine with the Move controller, but there isn't much content there. The Guru Dart Shooter is the only one I had fun with, but it's not worth playing over something like The Shoot or Time Crisis. The other three are extremely simplistic and are only worth playing once or twice. The good news is that there are several trophies for these games and all of them can be earned within 1 or 2 tries of the games.
The Collection is worth owning, but not for the Move minigames.

That or for Ntreev and Tecmo to give us a port of Pangya season 5 akin to the 2 (fun but limited compared to the PC or PSP) Wii games.

Downloading all the Move demos now, excited to give the controller a try! =)

Any specific recommendations? Full game or post add on.

I already mentioned it on this very page, but definitely check out Tumble. There's a demo for it. I wouldn't pay over $10 for it but the TV Superstars demo is a fun way to see some of the stuff you can do with the move/ps eye.

I just tried the Heavy Rain Move edition and it felt pretty clunky. Maybe it was my set up but I was flubbing every gesture several times.

Yes I saw that Snug, pretty pumped fpr what's ahead-KZ3, Socom and LBP2. Am I not looking good enough, because I can't seem to find third party developers jumping on board with the Move. =/

There have only been reveals for things late 2010/early 2011. Id expect more to be revealed after that, seems like Move games are handled more closely by Sony which makes sense.

Played The Shoot recently and enjoyed it quite a lot.

Caveat:

The targeting reticule is smallish and precision is required for shots to register.

I found the reticule wavering just by squeezing the trigger rapidly.

I wonder if shooting attachment helps in steadying the crosshair.

It matters in this game because its all about stringing together perfect shot-chains to get high points.

You forgot to add: why the fuck there is no rumble when you shoot?!

I haven't tried it, but I'd imagine it might help since your hand(s) would be in a more natural, stable position to begin with. Personally I dislike the idea of buying a peripheral for a peripheral in order to play a game properly, but that's just me. :)

Played the demo to Racquet Sports. Possibly one of the worst experiences ever, shame on you Ubisoft.
I've read their Motion Sports for the Kinect was just as bad too.

So we have two PSN games coming to us this week for the Move? Under Siege and Beat Sketcher? :D

Snuggler said:
that's the only demo I didn't try, I took one look at it and knew it would be a waste of time

Yeah it doesn't recognize any amount of wrist action of positioning. Just swing away and it's all the same.

Anybody knows when the Move patch for Swords and Soldiers is coming? Been waiting for the patch for quite a while before I buy it...

Auditorium HD launches this week in the US, dunno abot the EU.

Hopefully we won't be waiting long.

Ditto with echochrome 2 - where is it?!

If we could have these two + Under Siege, it would be a nice selection of PSN Move games to round out the year.

I think it's the first time Move is implemented for racing, nope? Since the hand is almost covering the ball, I think it will just use the internal gyros etc.

That's what I would guess.

It's good that the game is getting Move support, but I'm somewhat disappointed that (as far as we know) this is the extent of it, since the Sixaxis can do motion-controlled driving as well. As I said in my comment on that blog post, I would love to see them utilize Move to a greater degree, in ways that couldn't be easily replicated using Sixaxis tilt. One example would be to throw the discs, like you do in disc golf in Sports Champions.

I'm also starting to get wary of games that are throwing in "token" support for Move, just so they can sport an extra logo on the box and buff up the Move title count. It's inevitable that this would happen anyway (and options are good), but if they're bent on adding Move support to their game, then I'd prefer they either do something really meaningful (see SOCOM 4 or Killzone 3) or don't bother at all, as the resources might be better off if applied elsewhere.

Yeah when you tilt the controller like that all you need the internal sensors which detect gravity. You really need the sphere when you are pointing the controller around cos it helps in angle calculations (see Kung Fu Rider - you can play the game with the sphere covered, but after a while you get errors which fix themselves automatically when you uncover the sphere).
