Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Anyone play that fishing game that supports Move? I think it's another Cabella's title.

I'm sure the game sucks either way. I'm still waiting for an awesome Move fishing game... :(

Sega should stop being useless and start making me a new Sega Marine or Bass fishing game that uses Move.

I have Rapala Bass Fishing and its kinda "arcadey" for a fishing game rather than a straight (boring) fishing simulation.

The Move implementation is well done. Its actually easier to use than the real fishing peripheral (Wireless Reel & Rod) since you don't have to wind a fishing reel. With Move you just hold the trigger to reel the fish in.

You "twist" the controller right or left to pull the rod left or right. You do not YANK with motion left and right... The sensor is only registering twist left or twist right on the controller. I think they got lazy about motion tracking and only use one rotational sensor.

Then again, as far as fishing goes its not bad. I find it relaxing to play with move.

As far as being an actual game?
1) Locate best fishing position using fish radar on boat (or go to challenge zone)
2) Select which lure type you want to use
3) Cast the line (move control: Make casting motion action)
4) Reel in using proper technique matching Lure
5) Fish bites QUICKTIME EVENT yank hard to catch fish
6) Long series of quicktime events: Reel in, release line, yank left or right, reel in more
7) Net the fish and see the stats.

Its kind of fun if you see a big fish on the line and you know if you don't do it right the line will snap.

Thanks for the impressions. I'll probably grab it at a bargain price if there isn't a better alternative by then. I used to love fishing games but there hasn't been any good ones for a long time.

I guess I have to get one some place else.

My friend was playing Sports Champs with me and knows I'm into my Move with The Fight so as part of my birthday gift she got me the plastic attachments to make the Move into a real sword, bow, paddle, etc.

D:

Yes it came from a good place and it was thoughtful but still :lol

I was finally able to find a Move controller for sale.

I bought Sports Champions, only played a little bit so far, but man I really dig the disc golf game.

I also tested Start the Party and Tumble. Start the party demo is cool, but "short" in content. Tumble is actually pretty amazing, especially in 3D.

What do people recommend for entry level cardio/exercise/yoga type games for the Move. Is Sports Champions and The Fight about it?

Also, whats the opinion of the Heavy Rain implementation. I am going to give the demo a try soon.

The Fight is the most exercise hands down. I would heartily recommend it for fun & exercise both. Its a cardio exercise explosion during fighting.

As far as being healthy? EA Active 2 is probably the best I've played.
It actually doesn't even use MOVE whatsoever but PS3 version is the best version in my opinion.

The EA Active 2 Wii version requires you to hold the Wiimote in your hand and the Kinect version is still glitchy in its growing pains (recognizing situps and menu navigation annoyances)...

The PS3 version they simply added an extra armband which reads your motion instead of using the Move controller and its much better overall.

Yeah, my gf and I finally cracked the 18 hole mode on that one this weekend. It's ridiculously fun. Even if you know what holes are coming there's a great challenge there, and the accuracy of Move adds a LOT of random lol moments. :)

Got a hole in one too, which was unexpected and awesome :)

I wouldn't know what to think of that. :lol

you have to man up dude...let her watch you beat someone up in The Fight...I'd let you beat me up online for Bros sake (unranked :D ) but I still haven't touched online yet.

They really should merge Sport's Champions Gladiator & The Fight mechanics into other genres.

BTW... All of you with Move should definitely give The Fight a try its a lot of fun. At least give it a rental and ignore all the (stupid) reviewers who don't know jack.

* I really hope someone merges 1:1 Move with something like Monster Hunter or WOW or Demon's soul

Monster Hunter (MH) in particular could really work out well. In MH there are no experience points or leveling up. Its purely how good your equipment is and how skilled you personally are.

Since Move can allow a VERY complex input mechanic with 1:1 motion... It should be possible to create some really interesting gameplay.

Popular Science thinks this Move is the best of what's new

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/11/22/playstation-move-is-the-best-of-whats-new-in-2010/

The editors of Popular Science selected Move as the only video game technology worthy of the honor this year, calling it the “most immersive gaming controller” on the market and “the first motion-capture game system accurate enough to attract the hardcore gamers who consider the Wii and Microsoft Kinect to be kids’ stuff”.

Yea, I just got my second one finally after putting an order for it mid October. And as a prime member, I was too stubborn to get it from anywhere else. :lol

Yeah just got another one its in stock now :lol

Edit: its gone again.

Going to look into The Fight.

The EA Workout game may get a bit too much... I will look into it further.

I agree with Popular Science. I have only played very shortly with this years motion options, but you can definitely feel that Move is a functional technology that is directed toward actual gamers.

The Fight does have calibration and tracking issues. Pretty much every fight I have to use the circle button to reset my character. Your character can get stuck in a weird position. Sometimes it messes up tracking completely. Never had an issue in Sport Champions' gladiator game.

I have a dimly lit room with some ambient sunlight when I play during the day and a nightlight at night and I haven't had any calibration issues. Headtracking is another question but standing in the sweet spot about 5 to 7 feet and throwing 1:1 punches is a thing of beauty.

One of my favourite implementations. Not sure if it is better than normal DS3 control, but it was definitely a lot of fun and added something to the game, in a few scenes in particular.

I solved this problem pretty much by finding a way to stand a little further from the screen. Are you very close to your screen?

I agree, although I will add I like the implementation on the lower difficulty as it keeps the motions simple so that your movements don't get misinterpreted. Doing the last scene on the higher difficulty was a frustrating experience.

Anyone have any opinion on the chargers available so far, specifically the 3rd party ones? I always seem to see someone mentioning how the ports are a snug fit or don't fit the nav con very well. And how about the official one?

I wish I didn't need one, but for some reason the nav con doesn't want to charge when I hook it up to my pc. It charges for a bit then stops.

Check the iWaggle3D section in the OP for charger info. TTP looks at all the options

yeah I was going to say sometimes you swinging outside that area (what your cam sees, when u first calibrate with your arms spread out) will cause that.

I'm pretty close to my T.V. (5ft.) so it does happen sometimes when I get excited and unknowingly move towards my screen while swinging frantically.

if I do mess up, I just move backwards quickly then get in the stance and press circle.

I've had a few issues too. So far they've been fixable with a little tinkering.

I've found that you have to make sure you don't have any competing light sources in the background. Also on the calibration screen, if you see any patch of light on a wall behind you that you lose the Move's light in, you tend to encounter calibration issues as well. (It's fine until you hit that light spot, then the game wigs out.)

I think Sports Championship doesn't freak out like that because it's not trying to be anywhere near as precise as The Fight.

I like the submachine. The Sony one and the duals look horrible. What is that long piece on the end of the assault?

Sony all the way. It's easily removable, isn't going to intrude on your use of a wrist strap, its light, and above all else actually makes sense. If you buy the others you'll be wasting your money.

PS: If you're buying one, be aware that it's really not worth it since it's technically only "compatible" with one game. All of the other games that you need to use it for require you to use multiple face buttons, which means you'll have to reach around w/your other hand to hit those buttons on th PS Move controller.

I'm sure this has been said before (probably even in this thread), but I'm perplexed as to why they didn't use the feature connector on the bottom with the shooting attachment. If they did, then they could have located buttons anywhere on the "gun" shell, without requiring the user to physically press the buttons on the Move controller.

no doubt! it's completely fucked. i really hope the game devs support the games and patch that feature in. something tells me theres no chance in hell that namco is gonna patch tc though.

Oh yeah! I just bought a second move and Sport Champion. Quick impressions: I love the gladiators and Bocce (which reminds me a lot of the French game petanque). Other games look also fun. I alos got Auditorium from the PSN and ordered The Fight and The Shoot for cheap (from the link on the previous page). I love that the Move games are so cheap :D :D :D

Anyone tried the funky lab rat demo (on the EU store, not sure about the others?. I had a quick go there. Not a bad little puzzler. Reasonably good use of the move controller but nothing that couldn't be done almost as well with DS3. Also, when moving items around the screen it requires really big movements like beat sketcher, which I'm not sure I like.

I hope you like The Fight. I just got it last night and it's all I've been thinking about all day at work.

I'm looking for Start The Party, The Fight, and maybe Time Crisis for cheap :D
Any hints ?
