Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Nah. If the Time Crisis game was one of the freebies, I'd be all over this.
I've heard opinions that The Shoot was better than Time Crisis, but that's all subjective of course. Still if someone was getting a Move and had some smaller kids, the package + EyePet's a nice deal.

Hey I am trying to get a move controller (stand alone) but Amazon is sold out. Where do you guys recommend I buy one from?

Already have sports champs (got it on amazon for $20) and a camera but need the controller. BTW This is for my niece (I already have my own).

I bought the starter bundle at launch and have been trying to get a second move controller from amazon since then but no luck. =(

in the US? I started seeing some randomly in Best Buys that have been sold out. I'd try your local best buys or targets, you should be able to check stock online. This was pre Black Friday though. These BB's also had a good number of kinect devices so maybe its either a slow store or they get ton of stock.

It seems that Sony is indeed getting it's message about MOVE out there.

My Mum was asking me about MOVE last night and if I intended to buy it over Xmas.

Apparently she really wants to give it a go.

I was surprised to say the least.

I wanted to follow-up for TTP and in case anyone else was wondering. I bought the full version of beat sketchers and it seems they did add a "sensitivity" option to the full game called "zoom mode."

It's either on or off (no slider) but it helps a lot for people more than 10 feet away. Between that and the physical zoom mode on the PS Eye itself, you are able to get some significant zoom effect (i.e. small controller movements = large on screen movements).

Side note: the game is a lot of fun. Combined with a deck of Pictionary cards and a timer, it can be a blast at parties too.

Ah that's cool. Thanks for bringing this up. :)

On an unrelated note, I posted my GT5 Head Tracking video in the GT5 OT but perhaps it makes sense to post it here as well.

Enjoy! (and sorry for my face :P)

Why is the standalone Move controller so hard to find? Everywhere I go, they're only stocking the bundle and the controller is usually sold out.

if I just want a better remote for surfing the XMB?

don't get a Move if you want that

It's kinda fun to use it for XMB navigation, and it's easier once you get used to it, but it's still way more janky and oversensitive compared to a analogue stick.

that's not the point but haven't you ever wanted to control the TV from the other room?

I just think Move would be a better remote than the PS3 controller.

Speaking of that does it even work from across the room or do you need to be within line of sight?

When navigating the XMB it doesn't need to see the sphere. Its all gyro based.

yeah, I think you need to be in the same room

I guess it might not work if you want to control your TV from another room, which is a major oversight

Wow no one posted the Amazon $5 deal on the PSEye mounting clip? Its liken 90% claimed. Anyhow got it to avoid messing with it at home or friends house.

This is wrong. It does not use the sphere/eye, only the gyros. I have used the move from another room with no issues, much like a DS3.

:lol okay thanks

honestly I've never tried to use it to control the TV from another room since it's completely pointless and whatnot

Not really.

"Another room" does not necessarily mean through walls or out of sight or whatnot. Our living room is next to the dining room which is next to the kitchen. So from the kitchen to the TV its about 30 feet or more to the TV, so Move would not work if camera/ball was needed.

I often walk over to get something to drink, or even cooking or whatnot and watching stuff on the PS3. The DS3/Move/remote work great even from that distance.

yeah, that makes sense

I got the impression that he was talking about trying to use the Move while in the bathroom or something

Saints Row 3 could be awesome with Move. I can hope, I guess.

Anyways, in Move related news, I think Beat Sketchers is my favorite Move "game" yet. You can do so much cool stuff using the PS Eye, if anything it's a better showcase for that than the Move, but it's a really cool application. Deserves way more attention.

Aside from that, Sports Champs Disc Golf has been the big thing. It's the go-to MP game when friends are over.

The only problem I have is that the PS3 slims should have a rear USB port. I hate having the big PS Eye cord always in front of my set up, doesn't look very good.

Interesting video, i tried the head tracking in GT5 but i think i was sitting too far back because the camera didn't move very much. I liked the tests at the end, very impressive but if it uses a lot of resources i wonder if it will ever really be used by developers?

Hmm, I don't understand why the music is so choppy in Auditorium HD. You would think that a game based so much on sound would not have tracks which so abruptly, almost hysterically, end and repeat with no gentle flow to it. :/ Beside that, the game is really interesting in its simplicity.

Eeeewwwww. I couldn't watch the whole video, so I skipped here and there. Why couldn't you just replace your face on the whole video with the Transformers helmet. ;)

Okay, seeing as its set for an early 2011 release, lets talk about Playstation Move Heroes.

What exactly is this game? The thought of 6 of my favourite Playstation characters being in the same game excited me, but so far the levels we've seen look unimpressive.

They should have made a platformer where the levels are divided up among the six characters (or into three groups with an AI companion/splitscreen) and made that awesome.

What it looks like is a game where we start a level with our chosen character, and have to complete some timed/non-timed mini game. I don't want it if its like that all the way through. I really want it to have some interesting platforming and be challenging in places. I don't want the challenge to simply come from the controls.

Whats the story? Are there cutscenes? Anyone else know?

You can actually use a Navicon standalone, without Move, without PSEye. It has no triangle button though ... and no select (nice to have for video playback).

why couldn´t you take a photo of yourself and use it as your avatar? oh man you did...

Is this game coming to the US?

I'm going to guess no. Depends if there's a market for PDC darts in the US. I'm guessing that there's not (even though one tournament takes place in Las Vegas).

Sony is developing its own darts game for PlayStation Move (think it's called Top Darts), but no idea if that's coming to the US too. I assume it will though, as it's a PlayStation Store download title.

It's going to be hard for them to outdo this PDC game though I have to say. It's probably my favourite PlayStation Move title outside of Tumble and Sports Champions.

Even my Dad's addicted to it. First game I've got him to play on PlayStation 3. He literally keeps asking me to "set it up" for him.

I have never heard of this game, got any info and pics for this one.

It was a joke and it seems obviously a lousy one because some of you derps clearly do not understand it, even though it is not even meant for you, and the meaning of a ;) smiley is unknown too.
TTP is teh bestestest Move reviewer in the history of reviewers. Geddit. Friendly puns... huoh.

I would imagine so. Developers don't usually patch Demos.
My demo was auto-patched by PlayStation Plus (best $50 I ever spent).

I finally caved and bought the full game (Swords and Soldiers). Few thoughts:

1. It really is off to an excellent start. Although it does seem the main campaign may be short/repetitive.

2. The Move controls >>>>>> Dual Shock Controls (plays very well with Move controller resting in your lap).

3. Between this, Dead Nation, Pacman, Auditorium, Beat Sketcher, Tumple, and Under Siege, my wallet is seriously going to be hurting from PSN titles alone.

Quick question:

I have a PS Eye I bought maybe 1.5 - 2 years ago. It's still in the box.

Since the difference in price between a bundle and a standalone Move controller isn't much, is there a compelling reason for me to get a bundle (considering updated camera, bundled software, etc)?

Camera isn't updated. There is no benefit except that you'll save $10. My suggestion: get the bundle and use the extra camera as a webcam for this will be the cheapest and the best audio/video webcam you can get for $10 :P

If you don't want Sports Champion, don't get the bundle.

Cool thanks, I might just do that. Is Sports Champion a full game?
