Its so messed up

Modders patched the slowdown in no time on the psp version

I guess psp never supported content updates so SE never bothered to fix it which is stupid. Just do it and reupload it onto Psn.

So stupid

PSP did. The mobile version of the game doesn't have the slowdown.

Is it just me or I can't transfer my PSP saves to my Vita? My original Dissidia saves aren't detected. I even tried transferring my existing Duodecim save from Vita to PC, but I can't copy that same save back to my Vita.

edit: Of course, one minute after I posted this the original Dissidia save decides to show up on the list. Duodecim still doesn't.

Just buy the PS1 version, god damn.

PSP version has remastered soundtrack, 2 extra characters, 2 extra job classes, the original Japanese difficulty, better translation, extra battles, extra items, and better controls (don't need R2 and L2)

but it has slowdown issues so people hate it.

Probably because it's Babby's First JRPG version.

Even if the difficulty is toned down, which I'm guessing is the point of your statement, it's probably still more difficult than 95% of Final Fantasy VI ever was. And people still love that. :P

There's no reason not to pick it up if you love the classic Final Fantasy style of JRPG. Final Fantasy IV is easily one of the best of the series.

No final fantasy game is hard.

The only legitamly hard FF game was 4HoL.

The rest anyone w/o prior JRPG experience can pick up

None of those things make up for how annoying it gets after you've had to deal with the slowdown for hours. It only gets more annoying as you play and start using more elaborate spells more often.

Just picked up two screen protectors today from at Target. They were on Clearance for $1.26. :D

The original Final Fantasy on NES and I want to say the original SNES version of Final Fantasy IV ended up with sections which required copious amounts of grinding. I remember never making it beyond the earth cave in FF because of the hall of giants and getting frustrated and giving up (granted it was a rental) and I remember making it to maybe... the Calbrena fight, max, before having to grind levels and giving up a bit. I do so love the Calbrena fight music though.

But you're right, most JRPGs are easy -- at worst, they require some grinding to get beyond where you're at... or changes of equipment.

Hell, I remember having to grind my ass off in Legend of Dragoon (part of the reason why I loathe that game) because the timing mechanic was impossible for me to get the correct timing down.

All said, I love Final Fantasy IV -- it's one of my absolute favorites... I just liked most of the characters and thought the story was interesting, etc.
Again, if someone loves the old school Final Fantasy games, I highly suggest grabbing FFIV:Complete while it's on sale.

FFT has legitimate difficulty.

Personally the only flaw with tactics is that it's difficulty curve is all out of place. I can see why people would find the first part of the game diificult but once a person gets a gist of it its a straight forward game.

This might be a stupid question, but how do I change my PSN sub from 3 months to 12 months?

Just buy a year subscription. I do not think you can 'switch' it via automatic billing but I could be wrong. I had the 3 month sub for almost 9 months. Then there was the year discount, bought that and it added it on to my remaining time and I now have my subscription extended.

Just completed Crysis again on PS3, overall it was okay but god the last level was just painful to complete.

I was going to buy Crysis 3 along with Bit Trip Runner 2 and Tales of Xillia in that 14/14 sale but the general opinion on the game wasn't too positive. So it's just an okay time waster? Nothing out of the ordinary?

Holy crap, there exists a $4 avatar. :o

Remember when someone released an iPhone app that was a picture of some kind of gem and it cost like $1000 and some people actually bought it because they're idiots?

That's why there's a gold skull avatar for $4.

Wait, that's it (at 3:10)? THAT is the infamous, legendary slowdown I've heard wrecks the PSP remake? Wow. Seems like much ado about nothing.

See how "nothing" it is the thousandth time it happens. If you start using Ultima, your battles will double in length.

I can't get that from the video, though. The guy didn't give a good example there. I could see how longer battles would drag out if you're casting tons of spells.

Hmmm..maybe this has been a thing for a while but if haven't noticed, but it looks all Assassins Creed games except IV and Liberation HD are 50% off.

I just finished ACIV on PS4 and I loved it.

I'd like to try the Ezio trilogy on my PS3 if they're worth 10 bucks each. Thought about picking up the Blu ray Ezio trilogy off Amazon for $25 right now, but I'll pay 5 bucks more for the convenience of having them installed and playable off the hard drive instead of a disc. I don't know though...I've got such a big PS3 backlog. Do these games go on sale very often?

Next week is DustForce right? I am so hyped for that.

Cannot wait to get mine next month!

I was going to do a backup but it was going to take 1.5 hours to do so. Just re-downloading everything and then will post some pics of space usage.

You have 59GB once the initial format is complete.

Regarding shipping - Got mine from Nippon Yassan and it shipped on the 17th and arrived today so 11 days transit for air mail without tracking or insurance.

They do go on sale from time to time, but not super often.

On PSN, anyway. You can get Assassin's Creed games for pretty cheap out in the real world. :P But yeah, the Ezio games are worth $10 each, definitely.

Unfortunately Europeans can't get the original PS1 release on PSN so I'll probably have to get WotL. Could play it on my PSP with the slowdown fix but would prefer playing it on my Vita... decisions...
I can transfer PSP saves to the Vita and vice versa right?

You can transfer them to Vita, I have. Haven't tried vice versa.

Thanks for the info, looking forward to the screens

Wow. Just no. That Smart As... game plays horrible. It's like the touch screen only updates once ever 1/4th inch of movement. It's not intuitive, announcer is annoying (I'm gonna go play LBP tutorial to wash it out), and it has a 500mb "stability" patch. Hell no I'm not letting this take up 2GB of my memory. And the Platinum trophy is a 100 day trek.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of the IGC's future

Honestly, when I was playing on the PSP all those years ago, and even when I played on the Vita, I never noticed. I didn't notice until like... I was halfway through my last Vita playthrough. Or rather, I never internally identified it as slow down. It makes it a much slower paced game but unless you will yourself to be annoyed by it, you can just as easily let yourself not.

The more worrying thing is that it's an SCEE game apparently. Unless they start giving out more top tier indie games, which its entirely possible they will avoid at all costs because of Wait For PS+ Syndrome, they're gonna start digging into the PSP banks.

The slowdown objections are a trivial manner when compared to all the improvements to it and it bothered me little. And I played the ps1 version first, but to sacrifice the excellent translation of WOTL over the bad PS1 over something that has no effect your ability to play is a bad choice

Waffling on getting FF4 complete. Might want to just put that towards the other two vita play games, but it improvements seem good and it looks so nice.

With how awesome PS3's IGC is this month, I think it's not surprising that the Vita gets some lesser games. I hope they release some good games again for the Vita in February.

Speaking of IGC, has it been announced what games will come to IGC in NA this February?

Ok thanks. I'll just try playing it on the Vita with the slowdown and if it should bother me I'll change to the PSP version. If you can transfer a save from PSP to Vita it should be possible to do it vice versa as well. Will try!

Oh and I finally started P4G and it's already a lot of fun. Playing on normal without any guides and just enjoying the game. Will probably do a 2nd playthrough to see everything.

To be fair we had some awesome sales this month so it kinda made up for it.
