Ok... so I'm downloading Toukiden right now.

And I've just discovered something on P4G... I can buy every single Persona on my compendium without caring about what level it is on my new playthrough. And the same applies for the weapons and armors... doesn't it break the "magic" of playing the game on Very Hard? Because I could buy some 25-35 level Personas and I'm level 4 xD
I had the same thought when I started my Very Hard run. This does make hunting for trophies much much easier. The only thing that made me stay away from stronger personas is the Hardcore Risette Fan trophy. Basically, you need to be weaker than the shadows or die a few times or even get afflicted with a status ailment if you want to collect some of the Risette lines.

To be honest i had a far easier time destroying that boss with the basic dual knife than with the stygian kusarigama. I also find the dual knives to be more precise for climbing on top of being an easier weapon to use in general.

I'm sure there's a place for chain and sickle users in the full game. I do find the spear to be the most precise and the best weapon for breaking parts while knives come in second. There's lot to consider especially the amount the special gauge is filled is because it's different for every weapon.

I hate to ask, but can the OP please keep the front page updated? I really hate digging through dozens of pages just to figure out what's new. Much appreciated!

Ah, I see. Seems a bit harder to use than dual knives though. Granted I only used it once. I'll practice it more on Manhunter.

I tried it on the manhunter, but since he's a small boss you have to be quick to relaunch, which might not get you where you wanted - while costing you stamina.

Must be a nice thing to do on bigger bosses, tho.

I can see that working. Hopefully it does on bigger enemies because I find it hard to break the Manhunter's sickles. Believe it or not I find it easier to break parts using the gauntlets rather than the chain and sickle.

The demo was fun and it's now on my radar. Not sure if it will be a day one pickup or not.
Do it. Although I'd advise it the other way around if not for Toukiden being a hunting game and benefits more from multiplayer.

If you don't buy it within a few months, the online community would probably be dead by the time you buy it.

There is one thing though. Unlike MH, you can still be accompanied by the AI on your missions. So if you're fine with being a solo player, it should be okay.

Besides, the more the merrier. Should you opt to buy it later though, I'm sure there should still be someone willing to play the game online. In GAF at least.

Edit: I'm getting gateway errors these last few days. Are GAF servers working properly?

Thanks for the info, looking forward to the screens

I'd post pics of the settings screen but it has MAC address and other sensitive stuff but I have 43/59GB free after letting DL's go all night. I think I have the same amount of games, if not more, than before the upgrade. Pretty happy with the newly afforded space.

On a separate note. I was reading some people complain about DL's not working in sleep/stand by mode on Vita. That is absolutely false. I was able to download about 10GB of stuff overnight with no problem. I woke up to about 12 games installing this morning with no issue.

Had a quick go at Modnation on Vita and it is quite disappointing. I don't think it will stay on my Vita for long.

Dynasty Warriors is my perfect PS+ game. Something I would never have bought for the price it is on PSN store but I'm more than willing to give it a go

I really hope North America doesn't get Mod Nation Racers.

Please be DW instead.

Oh yeah, Flandy bought DW a few months ago. Too bad Flandy but it is destined to be DW. IIRC there are 2 DW games on the Vita. Pray that you get the one you didn't buy. :^D
I've added Toukiden to the list of MonHun games I've tried but can't get into. Dynasty Warriors time!

What seems to be the problem?

I've never been that much of a fan of MH or even monster hunting in general but for some strange reason I'm really addicted to Toukiden.

Does anyone know of a fix for this Olliolli crashing issue?

I'm not very far into the game at all and it's crashing consistently at the fourth stage... Kicks me right out of the app altogether, I start it up again and around and around we go ad infinitum.

Turn off notifications. Seems to fix crashing issues. Worked for me and I haven't had it crash once since I did it.

The combat in all of the games feels really slow to me - that's the biggest gripe for me. They all seem to take queues from PSO (which was great) - but there doesn't seem to be a lot of.. progression? Maybe I've never got far enough to see it, but something like Dynasty Warriors is more my style if I'm gonna play some 'run around smashing up dudes'

Blame the mods who forced multithreads into one megathread and shoveled it onto one poor soul (kass) its a lot of friggin work to do so dont expect updated ops to happen

The lack of levels may be jarring for people but progression is obtained through armor upgrades. I don't think it's THAT slow though. It's fast enough that I can feel the tension while being able to observe the enemies patterns. It's a good balance personally and it may also be because of it that I'm liking Toukiden so much.

I'm guessing you like Soul Sacrifice? You can really see your character evolve and grow stronger with every level up but it's largely the same with each armor upgrades in hunting games. It's just not that apparent. I like Soul Sacrifice but I like melee weapons more which SS doesn't seem to be fond of.

DW is different from hunting games. Mainly, it's a pick up and play game where you can mindlessly have fun while providing a few challenges via enemy officers. Hunting games seems a tad different for me because you do need to concentrate while fighting especially with the bosses.

Do note that the some people disliked the demo of Toukiden but loved the full game. Take that into consideration if you ever plan to buy Toukiden.

I'm never one to jump the gun and judge only by a demo, but it's all I have to go on for now. But I played the Soul Sacrifice demo and didn't like that too much either; I have it for free on my PSN+ though but I need a new memory card first - I really need a price drop on them though.

Should we make a weekly PSN thread as well then? This experiment isn't working.

I thought the thread combine was because the Vita thread and the weekly threads couldn't justify their own existence and needed a boosts in views. However, this experiment has failed due to the simple fact that not only did it not boost view count but it also decreased the view count.

You really should try the full games of Toukiden and Soul Sacrifice. Toukiden can wait but I'm assuming you have PS+ and have SS purchased so at least try it when you get a new memory card.

Holy shit Modnation Racers Vita is even worse than I expected. The framerate, the pop in, the awful interface, everything in general being so shitty. Jesus. What happened? I remember quite liking the PS3 version aside from the load times.

They tried to have parity with the PS3 version (with compatibility in user created levels) instead of pairing things down for the Vita.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is? Everywhere seems to say it's releasing on February 18th in North America, but that seems to be just a placeholder? Game appears on the Gamestop site, but not the EB Games one (I'm in Canada).

Played a little bit of FF5 on my Vita, and man the colors are soooooo good looking.
Loading times weren't an issue once you set the disc read speed to high/full.

If only the PSP games on the Vita had the same option...

I even remember the PSP CFW having to option overclock... Sigh..

I don't even remember the load times being that bad in FFV. But I don't remember much about playing the PS1 version anyway.

I'm getting a bad vibe about Modnation here. But that's OK. I'm interested in trying out Dynasty Warriors, never played one before (that I recall). Also Australia got the Toukiden demo!

Don't know if anyone noticed but there is a "Flash Sale" on Killzone Shadowfall. That's pretty cool, has Sony ever done this before on PSN? It's $41.99 until Friday.
