Your TV must be very forgiving.

Does anyone know what bitrate and codec Qore uses? This was my first Qore and I'm shocked at the quality of the encode. At a little over 1gig for 30 minutes of video at 720p I expected better quality than what I saw.

Did you see the artifacting I saw?

Looked really great on my monitor. /shrug

Qore has been improving a lot from week to week, and I hope it keeps on improving, but a big factor is the content that comes with it. This week was stacked with Bioshock, LBP, PoP, and Motorstorm 2.

I also didn't know that Bioshock on PS3 had a new difficulty option. I hope that comes to the PC version in a patch at one point.

And yeah, the video quality in Qore isn't the best. Just watch the PotC clips they have and notice the iffy quality of the image. It is even more noticable when you saw the actual blu ray to compare it to.

So there's an update on the PSB saying SOCOM pre-orderers will get a code in their email at around 10AM 9/5 (today). Does anyone want to start a thread for beta code sharing? Each code is sharable with 2 friends.

Month to month ;) but yeah. I was thinking watching it that Qore in Feb/March is going to be rough, much like how print mags have some months when there just isn't shit to print so they recycle previews for non-AAA games you've already seen a dozen times.

I do see artifacting in some of the videos, but overall they seem a bit better than your average PSN trailer. The quality of some game footage seems to be a touch higher than others, but that could just be the nature of some games making the video compression more or less apparent.

I have a promotion code for a free copy of Qore #2 (July, Resistance 2 featured) if anyone wants it. It was in P:TOM but I already bought that issue. First to PM me gets the code.

Yeah, yeah. Month to month...same thing. I'm tired.

Next month they can do Mirror's Edge, PSP-3000, and some first party game I can't remember. I would say Killzone 2 or Infamous, but those seem a bit far off. Maybe Wipeout HD or something.

Oh, and I am a tiny bit bothered when the Prince of Persia dev praises the power of the Playstation when the game is coming out on all platforms. It happened with TFU also.

First time Qore downloader.
Was pleasantly surprised by the presentation, quality stuff.
Looking forward to MS2 demo.

and, yup
LBP continues to bring a smile to my face every time.

This was the best Qore yet.

Love the new Blu Ray and Game release section.

LBP is as always jaw dropping. The video quality was very nice. The theme is OK, Great art, but it's hard to read stuff so I switched back to inFamous.

POP segment was low res. Game looks awesome, and I'll prob pick it up.

:lol @ that guy trying to spin PS3 extras in Bioshock. I don't care how good the game was, without a budget price or significant added content they aren't giving me a reason to pick up this port.

MS2 Looks FANTASTIC, I cannot wait for that demo.

This Qore episode is surprisingly really good. I don't know if these Game/Movie release lists are new, but I just found out that Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 are out on blu-ray, and I am going to order them tomorrow.

But not the entire, combined, re-edited "Whole Bloody Affair" version that we've been waiting for. This is just the same as those lame single-disc ones that have been out for a while now. Except, well, with all the Blu-Ray HD trimmings and such. I'm waiting for the definitive version... still.

uh, jeopardy trailer, this game is multiple choice? That's um...stupid.
Do you really want to wait for some douche online to take an hour writing out his answer?

I was initially concerned about the same thing in Scene-It, but if you pick sufficiently similar answers, it can be just as hard as a write-in.

Cool to see another ps3 game appear on PSN

SO...EA announces Burnout will be on PSN this fall then quietly puts up NFL Head Coach on PSN this week...how long until we're day and date with all EA releases on PSN? Goodbye Gamestop...and good riddance! :lol

Oh, that was the full game? I assumed it was just a demo. Nice to hear it's a full release. Too bad I don't really care about that particular game.

I like having the choice, but good riddance to GameStop? Hell no.

Owning the actual game is way better, not to mention the ability to sell it on eBay or trade it in when you get bored of it.

For example, I regret buying Warhawk from PSN. I never play it and wish that I'd bought the retail copy so I could have sold it on and got most of my money back.

And as for the Burnout release, all the downloadable content is free anyway, and you can already buy it for £20 ($40).

I'm on the opposite side here. I prefer downloads. I prefer gaming to be a click away and to be able to go from one game to another without having to swap discs. But I guess that's because I don't really need to sell games in order to buy new ones. I'm millionaire.

Not really :/

I'm with you. I love being able to boot up Warhawk without messing with discs, I wish MGO would've installed the same way.

Now, what's this about shareable SOCOM beta keys? Did Eurogamer ever give out their keys for the UK?

Oddly enough, I think that's the main reason I don't play MGO as much as I'd love to. But I think this has also to do with the amount of time it takes to get to MGO itself.

Put MGS4 disc in > Wait for the main menu to appear after some unskippable splashscreens > Select MGO > Wait for it to start up > Select Start Game (no shit I want to start one!) > Wait for the Agreement > Wait for log in...

So slow.

I think I played the beta much more than the actual game as it was just one click away. :lol

Anyone else noticed that in the "New releases" on the "Hot Stuff" section of Qore it stated that World In Conflict released on the 2nd? That's not true is it?

Shame, the game was pretty great.

Same here Wollan. Can't for the heck fathom why either as I played the beta for at least a couple of hours everyday whilst it was up :/

Probably, because as TTP said the time before getting into action and the additional maps(AA and UU), at least I don't like them... The beta maps are still the best for me.

Btw. there's a trailer of Resistance 2 in the Japan store.

Yeah, ran around the other two maps briefly in solo training and wasn't too keen. The cityscape one looked ok but wasn't taken at all by the destroyed looking one with the net in the middle. Dunno, maybe I'll stick it one day and get back into it again... The beta felt like the only online shooter that's really clicked with me in that I'm not big on twitch reflexes and 'pwning' and better suited to slower more methodical stuff and teaming up.

Cheers for the new Resistance 2 trailer heads up - anything new?

Many thanks for your always comprehensive and very well presented update! It's always worth a read. I have 1 eu account and 1 us. Maybe one day I'll create some more foreign accounts to nab the rest of the content too.

Why can´t I find the Pure demo under the "Latest" tab (or any other tab for that matter) in the PSN store?

I can find all other new stuff, makes me wonder if Sony is having bandwidth problems.

The MGO interface is THE most cumbersome I've ever seen for an online game. On top of the PSN issues, you should be able to access it directly from the XMB when you have the disc in, like the beta.

Absolutely, I hate having to go through MGS4 long startup just to get to MGO. I listen to the audio only most of the time so I dont have to switch my monitor over to the PS3 until its go time. And for MGO beta left-behinds, the Gene Expansion added really great maps to the game and the incredible Survival mode for weekends. Hopefully there'll be another Map Pack along shortly as that Clocktower map hasnt materialised yet and a Shadow Moses map would be delicious!

Yep, let's hope Konami learns their lesson from this. I'm not stingy when it comes to buying DLC for games that I don't even play that much, but I didn't get the Gene pack because of how much of a hassle it is to get in the game with MGO.

Alright so I just tried out Haze pack! Ask me anything!

Only one question occurs... why?

Back on MGO for a sec; Dun, you don't like UU? It's one of my favourite maps. AA and BB on the other hand, I'm not a fan. MM is still the best though.

Is MGO still coming out on PSN? Is there any chance those with MGS4 will be able to d/l it for quick access. I'll echo the sentiment as to the hassle starting a game. There's a couple of times where I've just stuck WH on because I simply couldn't be bothered going through the whole rigmarole. By the way TTP, you forgot character select. :lol

Nice week but still no PS1 games.

Hahaha did you actually expect it?

I'm hoping that once the PSP is able to launch the PSN store this fall that they will start adding more PSOne and PSP games weekly....

Buy the Fallen Star expansion. If you can't have fun playing that (assuming you don't get torn up every time you try to play)...well, you must not have very much fun at all.

The Haze expansion reaches the target market of people like me.

I believe Haze's problem stems from the fact that there isn't enough of it.

:lol

Wow, I really enjoyed the Pure demo. :) It's a very pretty racer and I liked the controls and handling. Performing tricks was also a lot of fun. I don't know if it's because I haven't played an ATV game since Offroad Fury? But I had fun with the demo, for what it's worth :D

I agree, I also enjoyed it. I thinked it was garbage but feels really good. Also it's my 1st Qore buyed. I expected the MS2 demo was available yesterday :/

About the downloading speed, a couple of days I experienced a similar problem. I solved it turning off the Bit-Torrent in the PC, and my usual 1MB/S (not 1Mbps) went back to my PS3, far faster than my PC. LOL. Try to turn off Emule/Bit-Torrent/etc in the PC.

Nope nothing new just the usual trailer, but with Japanese voice. I'd have nothing against it if they include them in the western versions :lol

Sony, please start putting up filesize! I don't know how big NFL Head Coach is (Not interested in the game, just interested in bitter tears of people who actually wanted to get it or got it but couldn't play cause of filesize :P)

This, Thought it'll be fun making dicks lol. kidding. I've seen alot of games where it asks user to enter the phrase and they are never perfect.

Well Google 'ps3 slow wifi' it may not be widespread but there are many other people with the same problem as me where WiFi is slow but ethernet isn't.
I get around 1m/s off the ps store with wifi. Maybe your internet connection or router aren't that great.
