Playstation Store 11/12/09 – Braid (US)

I wonder if SCEA is happy enough to give us an update in a timely fashion today, considering their game may be no.1 this month in NPD.

But probably not, we'll be sitting around til 8:00.

I bet you they're busy trying to keep the PSN from crashing due to MW2. The last patch for that game was to help reduce it's online footprint :lol

Man, I remember the good olde days when around 6 pm EST we could all enjoy the new storefront goodies. My, how things have changed.

Podcast Beyond comes through for the update overview:

Braid (Obviously)
Command and Conquer (PS1)
MX vs ATV Reflex (demo)
Inferno Pool Demo
Star Trek DAC
Ratchet and Clank Dynamic Theme
LBP PSP Demo
Bubble Trubble (MINI)

Bah.

Hell, they haven't updated PS Home today with the FF13 or A&E stuff in the movie theater like they said they were doing yesterday either.

SCEA can't update at a set time worth a damn.

Still no RE2, RE3, or Dino Crisis? Gah, what ever happened to that being available "soon"? Maybe when the PSN titles slow down again they will bring the good games to PS One Classics....

Well at least we get the Little Big Planet Demo

This looks like a solid update to me. Pinball Heroes is also coming, which is a pleasant surprise.

But still, the support for UMD legacy with real classics from third parties is lackluster. You don't release a piece of hardware that relies on digital distribution if you don't have agreements with the big publishers to support it.

This. Either someone dropped the ball on the re-licensing issues or Sony is just that fat and lazy to get their shit together for a new piece of hardware. I'm leaning toward the fat and lazy reason as nothing has changed since the Go's release. No communication, no release schedule just more of the same old bullshit excuses about how hard things are to provide a service they spend millions to hype.

People expecting every third party publisher to go back and re-license alot of back catalog titles are being foolish. Why should a publisher go back, and spend time and money getting an old game that didn't sell all that well in the first place republished to support a new system that has not sold all that well thus far?

Also, LBP demo YAY! :)

You guys are weird. FFVIII? Vagrant Story? There's just no way that publishers where going to send that out with MW2 having just come out. I'm just super happy that Braid is finally coming out (and that you Euros get Critter Crunch).

Bummer... I was hoping for the Demon's Souls dynamic theme. In any case, I'll be buying Braid again. Something goofy happened with my XBLA version to where it thinks I only downloaded the trial version and won't let me play the full game.

Older, best selling titles, yes. Old broken down games that didn't sell, no. The other thing is the way new releases are handled i.e. Dissidia. That was a debacle. Spend millions on hype for a new piece of hardware and then make all new Go owners sit and wait on what should be a flagship piece of software for it.

As far as LBP, can't wait. Custom fit for the Go.

Store is slowly updating now. i see inferno Stool.

My mistake. pool game was already on there. we are waiting for the demo :lol. carry on.

they can't run a ship like that though - round about this time of year there's a decent/big name game every week.

It's not like they can't readvertise the games either - just put them up! :D

Just noticed Call of duty classic has been removed from the european psn, rumours abound Sony put it up too early and have been asked to remove it

Ya because everyone single person who owns a PS3 is going to buy MW2 right? And it isn't like the two markets are exclusive (well in my case it is), you can play your MW2 and eat the delicious cake known as FFVIII too.

I'm talking about how publishers see it. Hell, I also have MW2 and plan on buying Braid AND would've purchased Vagrant Story & FFVIII. But, yeah, I'm a gaffer :lol
Most pubs, however, are trying to time their releases the fuck away from MW2 just because it's going to absorb a lot of people's disposable income for the time being.

? After that initial 2nd week lull in the releases of legacy UMD games, there's been 8-10 PSP game releases from third parties each week, mixture of new and legacy re-releases.

Or is this a region-specific issue you're talking about?

I see Lumines and PES 2010 in the search function!!!!!!

one day this will ring true
DUDE. Don't get me excited like that.

Seriously though, I never even considered the possibility that PES wouldn't be released on the store for PSPgo owners -- it's just such a major title from such a major publisher, and a Japanese one at that! Now that I'm understanding that it might never come out for us... holy shit. I mean, it was one of the main titles I bought a PSP for. :(

hey now ;)

Once Spiller leaves, we'll have our revenge for the past 100 years of mediocrity.

Maybe Konami will put it on PSN next week. NBA 2K10 was a week late, I believe (obviously a different publisher, though). There's just no way Konami won't put one of their biggest franchises on PSN for PSPgo owners. Sucks that it probably won't be this week, but I bet it will hit within a week or so.

My issue is just that. Trickling out weekly releases after the release of a new platform wholly dependent on digital download. I like DD and my GO but Sony is making it difficult to take this platform seriously for any future DD hardware when games are released whenever they get around to it.

Yea, by the looks of it, the talent balance goes your way next year. Going to be interesting. We'll still have better soccer though. :)

This year's game will be close. I see the teams matching up pretty well, with the game coming down to Clemson's freshman QB having to have an incredible game to pull off the win.

Good thing I had NPD to keep me busy.

Update is late as fuck like usual.
{yawn}... don't think I'm going to be able to stay up for this one... might as well hit the sack and check it tomorrow a.m. :lol
