Playstation TV $39.99 @ Gamestop

I hate to be a downer, but after using a PS Vita TV for around 2 hours, I believe $40 to be too much for what it is.

I used mine to remote play and play Jack Box with friends while we were vacationing at Lake Arrowhead. Connected over lan, worked amazingly well.

Obviously not Street Fighter IV, but it has its uses.

Do you have a vita? if you do... well your opinion and i'll respect it.
If you dont.. well thats dumb because $40 to play alot of great vita games vs $160+ for the vita handheld. If you bought it for only remote play... eh thats a thing but okay.

How could this remotely be possible, unless you already have every other sony system? It's a tiny little box that can play ps1, psp, and vita games (albeit not all) with a dualshock 3 or 4

That's awesome man. There are certain titles, like the Jack Box, that are perfect for that scenario. I'm glad that you're enjoying it.

The bundle I got in the Amazon deal has been fantastic. Lets me play all the Vita games I had an interest in.
Definitely jump on this deal if you've got a couple Vita games you;ve been eyeing.

I do actually. I guess my case is a bit different. I can see the value for someone who doesn't though.

Is this dead as in Sony is not going to bother to update the games compatible with it?

I have one and and disappointed I can't play Misadventures of Tronbonne on it.

That one should be a no-brainer right?

It seems the list has been stagnant since I bought the thing a couple of months ago.

I am Vita owner. I will say that FFX was the one title that I tried on PSTV that was quite impressive. However, many titles are not supported, and those that are often look pretty poor with the resolution blown up.

Why did I buy this lol....

Has there been any work towards making all vita games work on PSTV? I wanna say i saw a video on YT but it could be my memory being foggy

You sure? It says playable on PS TV right in the description. If you cant play it, thats false advertisement.

Someone did something in being able to get uncharted to boot up on the vita tv, do note that theres no way of getting past a certain point but someone can get the stuff to boot up.

Damn, at that price I could get a second one.

PS4/X1 in the living room
PS3/PS TV in the office
PS TV in the bedroom

First, this thing doesn't play a lot of PS1 classics, nor does it work with all PSP digital titles, and it also doesn't work with all Vita Games. I don't recommend the PlayStation TV unless you are interested in playing very specific games that are confirmed (By the PlayStation TV PSN store) to not only work, but also be installable to the platform using only the platform itself.

How's PS4 streaming on this? I bought one when they first came out, and I thought the streaming was quite poor. Laggy and the picture quality left a lot to be desired. Just seeing if it's improved since then.

LOL This really has bombed, hasn't it

I don't understand though, when the PS TV was announced for Japan the demand in western countries seemed really high - well, judging from the gaf threads made at the time.

Are Vita TV (for Japan) and Playstation TV not the same thing or did people change their mind ?

It got an update that day the ps4 got that big update, ps streaming now has better quality and was enabled to show 60fps finally. Definitely better overall.

They are the same thing, same builds, just a different color.

Out of curiosity does anyone know why some titles aren't playable on PTV?

A couple different reasons, most common reason is that the game requires input not available on the PSTV, usually back touch, front touch, microphone, camera, etc. Another reason is that Vita games require patches to make them compatible so a lot of devs haven't taken the time to do that. And lastly, licensing, mostly applies to PSP/PS1 games, some games just aren't licenses to be compatible with Vita/PSTV.

hmm..You can play any PS one game on the playstation tv, I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work.

Buy 2, Hack one for emulation and use the legit one for Vita games (which will soon be hacked to allow all Vita games).

Unless you hack it.

derp, makes a lotta sense!

I want one so I can play MGS HD Collection on my big screen again.
But sadly due to touch, it's not supported
