1.) Get your first Pokemon.
2.) Press Home button.
3.) Re-enter Pokedex.
4.) Get your second Pokemon.
5.) Repeat steps 2 and 3 to receive your third Pokemon.
6.) Miracles.

It's been said, but you can get more than one per day by getting your first Pokemon, exiting to menu, reopening the Pokedex, and clicking the alert that says you have new Pokemon data. EDIT: Beaten.

I'm really hoping to get Cofagrigus at some point. I scanned the AR Markers for him, Eelektross and Haxorus in the hopes of increasing my chances of receiving them sooner.

Got Haxorus, Cofagrigus and Crustle, whoo! The first two I increased the chances of getting by scanning AR Markers.

Now I'm using AR Markers to try and get Eelektross, male Unfezant and Volcarona.

So i've finally started getting more pokemon after having to fumble around with the 3DS settings, Landorus, Carracosta and Stoutland today.

If you want to sharply increase your chances of receiving a particular Pokemon via SpotPass, go to this site, find the desired Pokemon on the list, click on the link at the far right of its row to bring up a QR code called an AR Marker, and then when you're in your Pokedex, hit Start to bring up the camera, and then scan the AR Marker off your computer screen. This will add the desired Pokemon's silhoutte to your Pokedex, and according to the site, it increases your chances of receiving the Pokemon. It worked for me with Patrat, Haxorus and Cofagrigus! (Though it still took two days for the latter two; still, it could've been any of the other 120+ Pokemon I have remaining!)

I got a 3DS and installed the Pokedex on it yesterday, but I still haven't received any new Pokemon since the ones you start with. Since I've had it I have always left my 3DS connected to the internet and, outside of turning it off when I go to bed, I've always left it in sleep mode too.
Do I need to do something specific to receive the new Pokemon?

Yeah I have SpotPass activated but it hasn't been a full day yet so that's probably the problem. I assumed it was like daily events in the Pokemon games and reset at midnight.

Its done via spotpass, basically Pokedex 3D will pull a new pokemon from Nintendo's servers 3 times a day.

I don't get too how this works at all. If it's 3 pokémons pushed in without the need for trade in with others users if kind of pointless.
Same thing, how the RA card/detector works? I have this png with all the QR codes on there, scan it and add 3-4 QR codes per day but this doesn't add the pokémon, just the AR card?

Anyway, on a more general 3DS hardware topic:
My japanese Pokédex is slow as f***. I suspect the SD Card. I have a class4 SD Card in my japanese console, and a class6 for my PAL one. I don't know about the SDCard Nintendo provided, I changed it from the beginning. So, class 6 or better if you want to change it!
