Definitely picking Rowlet. Love the concept and the type combination, and the final stage's design is pretty decent.

I will name it after Artemis, who is the Goddess of Forests, Archery and the Moon, hence very fitting with Rowlet3 and the overall theme of the games.

Pichu is one of the early route Pokémon that you can catch so yes.

Litten's final evolution is just a genuinely really good design to me. Seems most of the hate comes from fire/fighting fatigue. (Or being bipedal, which just comes across as narrow minded.)

I like all three a lot, but Rowlet won my heart day one.

Yup. I'm definitely going to get both on my team during first run.

I wouldn't say it's the ugliest (Empoleon, Serperior, Infernape, Delphox), but it's definitely the most overlooked Fire type starter I think. All of Johto is kind of like that with their mono typings.

I know I like to rag on Poppmaid for being the worst, but it's a legit improvement over Brionne which I can respect. Most of the time bad starters are even worse than their second stages, like Delphox and Meganium.
